Best Western Plus Pinewood on Wilmslow Hotel - Wilmslow

90 US$ return trip to airport. Smallest room I have ever seen in my life. Smallest bed except for one I got in Marocko once, 15 years ago. Overall a very bad experience. I guess Hotel.com guests gets the worst rooms available. BAD!!!!

Stayed here the night before flying out of Manchester airport. The hotel is very convenient to the airport being within an 8 minute drive. Receptionist couldn't have been nicer. Initial key card didn't work so she replaced it, and then told me how to use the Wifi, all with great cheerfulness. TV didn't work but I didn't have the heart to disturb her again (said no signal) and as I had WifiI just watched Iplayer on my Ipad instead. Really comfortable bed, despite being a single. We had a very unfriendly welcome, and when we mentioned our uncomfortable night's stay at check-out the receptionist didn't seem to know how to respond to a dissatisfied customer. Our room was small and hidden at the end of a narrow corridor up narrow stairs, and despite the September temperature only reaching 20C outside the non-air conditioned room […] was like an oven all night. We tried leaving the ensuite extractor fan on to draw some fresh air in, but it only created a lot of noise. Downstairs the hotel was pleasant enough and the breakfast was ok. We booked to stay here because of Best western's brand quality and location to a nearby restaurant. On arrival we were told that all the double rooms had been allocated and that we would be taking a twin. No apology was offered and reception blamed Hotels.com. The room was in the attic area of the hotel down variuos unsigned corridors. The room had […] low ceilings, eves, and a large patch of mould clearly visible, which had mearly been painted over. We asked to be moved to an alternative room but were told that all other rooms had been allocated, however if someone cancelled then we would be moved. we explained that our restaurant booking meant leaving at 7pm. We then went for a drink in the bar whilst we waited to hear if a cancellation came through. I orderd a white wine and Gin and Tonic. The G & T came with no lime, which i then requested. the bar man informed me that the limes he had in his dispensor were "Not right" but he would get one from the kitchen. He had left the open container where i could see it, and the lime wedges mouldy and shrivelled. The wine was warm and needed ice cubes! As we had booked bed and breakfast i now really didn't want to stay hear so we arranged to stay at a best western in Altrigham which was fine, however it cost US an extra £50 in taxi fares and what really annoyed me was that at no point did any member of the staff apologise for our obviuos unhappyness and inconveinince. There was clearly a lack of management presence during our time at this hotel...really glad we managed to change hotels. My advise would be to look elsewhere before booking! Read more

Aliitle misleading from the pics online. Overall the rooms were ok. The rooms were alittle.. well just musty. Beds were rock hard, so no quality sleep. Breakfast was the best part. Nice people in reception however. But I will not bw staying again.

I have stayed in this hotel a few times now and the hotel is very clean and comfortable. I have to say though that with the change in ownership the service seems to have gone downhill.....the bar staff hadn't a clue about how to serve someone and the waiter at breakfast couldn't speak English!!! Attended a function in Woodford & the hotel was convenient for this location. Taxi service to & from the hotel was on prompt & reasonably priced. Friendly staff & excellent customer service. Menzies Pinewood oli kätevän matkan päässä Manchesterin lentokentästä, mutta kuitenkin rauhallisella alueella. Hotellissa kaikki toimi hyvin ja aamiainen oli runsas (joskaan ei kuulunut huoneen hintaan). Huone oli aika pieni ja hieman nuhjuinen (kph hyvin nopeasti siivottu ja päiväpeitto kulunut jne), mutta edullinen, toimiva ja rauhallinen.
