My second stay here. The Sleep Inn is now my go-to hotel in Williamsburg. Rooms are clean, the hotel is quiet, and the staff is very friendly. The hotel is situated in the middle of Williamsburg, so it's equidistant from everything of interest.

The door to our room would not lock on our first evening in our room. We took suitcases to the front desk for safety. Bad start! The bathroom fan also did not work on day 1. It was not a 4-5 star hotel by any standards. However, the room was clean, we never heard any other guests from our room (walking, talking or running water/pipes). Neither the cheapest nor most expensive. Convenient location. Nice breakfast choices. Room was clean, but a worn spot in the rug by the bath doorway was clumsily patched. Like many Sleep Inns, the bath has a large shower but no tub.

This is one of those bare minimum hotels in that you get a bed, shower and toilet. There is a small desk, but no places to sit or furniture to stash clothing. The A/C-heat didn't really work nor did all the lights. The bedspreads were soiled and the tv had poor programming. There was a lot of hallway noise and train noise outside. The breakfast is a little better than nothing as it does offer waffles, cereal, bagels and some nasty egg/sausage patties that were likely neither egg nor sausage. Williamsburg has many, many hotels to serve visitors, and I've stayed in a fair number of them over the years. This year I took a chance on the Sleep Inn and was pleasantly surprised. What a great place. Location was perfect off the main road so no traffic noise, room was VERY clean and modern. Staff was very friendly. Perfect breakfast to start the day. Only negative is our room was so hot and I guess that is good for some in Feb, but too hot for us. We actually turned on the air for a bit. Will stay there again next year!

We have stayed at the Sleep Inn on Bypass Road several times. I just wish there was more of a breakfast selection. On Sunday my friend wanted yogurt but was told that they were totally out.

We were traveling last week on college visits with the family and booked two rooms a night at three different Sleep Inns in Virginia and North Carolina. They were all great! Clean rooms, safe neighborhoods, good free breakfast and friendly staff. We're going to seek out Sleep Inns from now on as a great affordable, nice hotel!

We had an overnight stay in Williamsburg at the Sleep Inn. It was a pleasant surprise. To be sure, it isn't meant to be a 4 star hotel; however, the room was clean and comfortable. The TV was a reasonably sized flat screen and mini fridge in the room. The exercise room wasn't much, but it was bigger than the one at the last Hilton I stayed at. It had […] an indoor pool. The most impressive part was the continental breakfast. It exceeded my expectations. The downside was that one of the chairs in our room didn't seem to be clean and the bathroom floor was sticky. my husband and i stayed from dec. 18 through the 22. This was our first stay here and were apprehensive because you usually "get what you pay for" but the comments we reviewed were good, the price was excellent so we thought we would try it. We stayed at a beautiful, perfect, B&B the following year, paying a fortune ( a once in a lifetime for us) so […] we were looking for a bargain this year. Boy did we find it! The price was unbeatable. The rooms were immaculate!!!!!!!!!!! which was my biggest concern especially with the bedbug problem on the east coast. Well no bugs lol. the bathroom was sparkling clean and were cleaned and restocked perfectly everyday. The mattress was very comfortable.There was a nice selection for the continental breakfast. The only concern that i would have regarding this is, the breakfast room is small. Going during primetime might cause a crowd issue, but we did not have this problem staying during the winter. The staff was very pleasant, extremely friendly, kind and accommodating. The hallway, to our nonsmoking room, did smell a tad like stale cigarettes but our room did not and the smell dissipated over the duration of our stay. Our room consisted of just a queen bed, chair, tv, iron, board and coffee maker and fridge but that's all we needed. we did not use any of the pool of other amenities offered.definitely will stay here again and have recommended to friends who frequent Williamsburg. Friendly and helpful staff. Use of the lobby computer was easy and was even supplied with plenty of paper for printing. The breakfast selection had a good choice of items – with the wonderful waffles to make.

I was very pleased with the Sleep Inn. I have never stayed at one and I thought I would try it for the first time! Everything in the room was great, but did have a small bathroom. Over all the experience was great and I when I return to Williamsburg, I will probably stay there again.

We had stayed here once over the summer and were satisfied, but when we stayed here on October 6th the hotel made a huge mistake. We had been at Busch Gardens all day and arrived at the hotel to check in near midnight. When they looked up our reservation they realized that they had accidentally put a different guest in our room. Now, the only available […] room was the one the other guest should have been in. This would not have been a huge problem if it weren't for the fact that this room had one queen bed and we had 4 adults in our party! So, hear it is, midnight, we are exhausted and we have an unsuitable room due to the hotels error. The desk person called the manager and he suggested that she refund us the money and make us a reservation at a nearby hotel. When I asked if this would be paid for by the hotel they said no. He finally agreed to pay for a room in another hotel but there were no rooms available. Finally I came up with the solution of bringing two roll-away beds into the room and the hotel refunding us our money for the inconvenience. In the morning I called hotels.com and they made sure the refund went through. The hotel was fine other than the fact that they had a completely incompetent employee checking people in during the day (whom hopefully lost his job) and an on-call manager who seemed less than helpful. I unfortunately will probably find a different hotel the next time I am in Williamsburg. Read more

The location of the hotel is great. It is a bit off the road so if you don't know exactly where it is, I could see how some people could drive past it, especially at night. Personally, I liked not being right against the road. It was quiet, and the staff at the front desk were very friendly. The hallway of the 3rd floor was very smoky and musty smelling, […] so I wasn't sure what to expect in my room, but I was pleasantly surprised. At first it was a little stuffy (presumably just from being closed up) but after starting the air conditioner it was fine. The room was clean and comfortable. In the room where I stayed, the sink was outside the bathroom, which made getting ready in the morning so much easier. The bathroom door was tricky to slide out, but otherwise worked fine. The water pressure wasn't as strong as I'm used to, but it wasn't bad and there was plenty of hot water. Beds were comfortable and there were lots of pillows (4 on each bed, I believe). It wasn't a problem for me, but there was some light around the door and window, but it wasn't enough to be disturbing. When I was checking out, breakfast smelled wonderful, but the dining area was very crowded. I hadn't planned on eating breakfast there (Cracker Barrel is within walking distance) so it wasn't a big deal to me. Read more
