This hotel was just a short drive outside of downtown Des Moines and very reasonable rate compared to the hotels downtown. Since I already had a rental car for my trip, it wasn't a problem not to be in a hotel downtown. The room was very clean, continental breakfast was fair enough, and the pool area looked very nice.

i was very disappointed and misleaded. on the website is says that a microwave and fridge were in the room,but when i got there,there wasnt one. i called front desk and they told me "they are not in the standard rooms",well the website didnt say anything about that. i will never stay there again.. really need to not have lies on the website.

The room was clean. I found the beds to be comfortable. The only criticisms I have are that the main door to the room didn't seal well and you could probably get a credit card between the door and the door jam. The door also did not line up so that the dead bolt wouldn't lock. The main lock worked fine however. Also Im not a big fan of the pocket door […] which was separating the toilet and shower from the main room with sink and beds. As with the main door, the pocket door also did not line up and you could not get the bathroom door to close all the way. The shower was nice and big though. The breakfast was good and the staff was very accomodating as we needed to leave the hotel before the official opening of the breakfast area and staff made sure food was out early after I mentioned something to them when I checked in. For the price I paid, and the nice location, I would stay again. Read more

The bed sagged in the middle. The quality of the rest of the room was much better. However, this makes me hestitate to ever stay in a Sleep Inn again.

Our stay was over the holiday, and it was a very satisfying experience. Staff was friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and lovely, and the hotel decor was charming. We have stayed at this hotel on other occasions, and will do so again!

This hotel is very nice, clean modern rooms, comfortable beds etc. I would definitely stay here again, my only complaints are as follows: 1. We booked it on hotels.com where it said the pet fee was $10 per day, when we checked in we were informed it had now changed to $25, when I explained what it said online & it was one of our reasons for choosing […] this hotel she offered no apology & just handed me the pet agreement to sign. 2. One of the other reasons we chose this hotel was the "on-site restaurant" & room service, the restaurant is actually across the street & when we called the front desk for room service she unapologetically said "I'm the only one here on Sunday nights so we don't do room service on Sundays" After driving 9 hours that is not what I wanted to hear. Luckily we found a pizza place that delivered. The hotel is tucked nicely back away from the highway however other than the restaurant across the street there are no other dining or fast food options we could find within 3 miles of the hotel. overall the stay was nice as far as the room goes, when you have 4 people in the room there no place to sit except the bed. the room is a little deeper so there is plenty of space in the room for maybe a chair of some type. When I booked our rooms, I requested adjoining rooms as we were traveling with our children and family pet. 2 before arriving, I called to confirm our rooms would be ready and adjoining. I was told they were adjoining, 1 room was ready and the other would be by the time we arrived. When we checked in, I was surprised to find our rooms were not adjoining. […] When I asked what happened as I had just confirmed 2 hours ago, I was told, in unison by the people working, the hotel had suddenly filled up and at least the rooms were across the hall from each other and they were the only rooms left. Normal check in is 4:00. We were there by 3:30, which is why I had called 2 hours earlier knowing we would be a bit early for check in. I understand if we had walked in, without reservations how this could happen. If I had to guess, I would say that as folks were walking in, the rooms were getting distributed without anyone checking to see what prior reservations had been made. I feel this needs to be addressed as my children did stay in the room across the hall, but much younger children would have split up a family, which to me is unacceptable. Read more

This was the second time I've stayed at this hotel and I will continue to stay here in the future. Its always been very clean and comfortable. The wife and I love the pool and the hours its open.
