"Nice Hotel but Glitches"
The hotel itself was great and I would stay there again. The only glitch was that I prepaid for a King room (at a higher price by about $25), and they gave the last King room away right before I checked in (to my colleague actually....whom they voluntarily upgraded). "Great for pets!"
It's awesome that this Sheraton accepts pets. We often have to stay in a Motel 6 or Extended Stay when traveling so that we can bring our dog with us. Sheraton (especially this one) is far superior to those chains in every way. Most uncomfortable beds we've ever had. Sheets are stiff, coverlet is made of something that makes noise like cellophane every time you move, pillows offer only an illusion of stuffing, plus sheets kept coming off the bed in the night (didn't fit correctly). The desk in the room had many deep scratches on surface - not very attractive. Had to call for a hair dryer - there wasn't one in the room. This is my second stay at this Sheraton, The initial stay was great but once I plugged in the provided hairdryer the entire bathroom lights went out! But we were leaving so not a big deal. This hotel is quite run down. For the same money you can get a much nicer Mariott or Hilton. Some of the other reviews here talk about hair on the floor of the bathroom and how you can hear your neighbors. This is actually true. There was disgusting hair on the bathroom floor and I could hear my neighbors clearly. The ceilings were popcorn ceilings […] with chips dangling from it. I booked a king room but was given a handicap accessible queen. I am tall and do not like the shower set up in these rooms. "Comfortable and Efficient"
We stayed at the Sheraton Edison for a conference and expo we had to attend the next morning. There was also a cocktail reception held at the hotel the evening before the expo. In addition to the people staying at the hotel for our event, there seemed to be lots of people there for another event. My only complaint is that we requested a 2 bedded room, which we even confirmed at check-in, and received a room with only one bed. I called the front desk to let them know and told them that we'd be fine if that was all they had, but would like a rollaway. The young lady checked and called back to tell me there were no other rooms and no rollaways available. It was a little bit frustrating but the king bed was big enough for my husband, child and me to all sleep relatively comfortably. Overall, I think the hotel did a great job and we enjoyed our stay. My companion and I were looking for a hotel right of the NJ Turnpike and found this one. Upon checking in, the receptionist came out from a back room chewing food and greeted us. We checked in and all was fine until we woke the next morning to find that the air conditioner had stopped working. We set the thermostat at 67 degrees because we like to sleep […] in a very cool room. We woke up and the thermostat read that 76 degrees inside the room despite the thermostat saying it was still set for 67. Since we were checking out that morning, we didn't bother to call the hotel desk, but I did mention it when I checked out with them. They apologized. The previous night we ordered room service. The food was pretty good although when we tried calling back to get salad dressing for the salad, no one answered the phone (despite calling 3-4 times). Let's cut to the chase; this hotel is clearly a nice hotel and its got a beautiful presentation. This review has less to do with the actual hotel, and more to do with the people who work there. Of course, we all know that people will have different experiences. However this experience, was enough to make me NEVER want to revisit this place again. The […] location and facility is nice and convenient. I made a reservation at Hotels.com for this past weekend so I could see my family for Passover. I make several trips to NJ a year, and this was the first and last time I will stay at this hotel. Check-in time is 3pm. We arrived around 2:30 because our 4 hour drive from VA miraculously had no traffic pitfalls. We expected to wait around until 3 so we could check in. So, at 3pm, I asked the woman at the desk if my room was ready. She checked, and told me no, just give her a few more minutes. Ok, fine. 3:15 I return to the desk to check, and she says "I don't know when it will be ready. Try me again at 3:30." Um, ok. Now, let's keep in mind that we were a family of 3 who needed to shower, settle in, and be back out on the road to head to see our family for Passover dinner at 5:30pm. Finally at 3:30 I asked her if it was ready yet, to which she replied "I have no idea when it will be ready." I ask why this is the case since check-in was 30 minutes ago, and why she couldn't just tell me this the first time I asked. A gentleman at the desk said to wait just 5 more minutes. At this point we noticed the hotel lobby was filling up rapidly. Not only was there a dog show (thus about 20 other people with pets stuck in the lobby waiting to check in) but there was a tour bus full of people heading to a large church function standing out front. I could overhear people announcing that they had to move the time of the dog show entirely because check-in was so delayed!
