The Convent Hotel is located on one of the main streets in Amsterdam and within easy walking distance to the Centraal Train station and Dam Square-so public transportation is a snap. The hotel is well kept and the staff is very friently. The one complaint about the staff is that they do not seem very knowledgeable about typical tourist activities in Amsterdam and we didn't find a concierge staff member to help with some of our questions. Our booking through hotels.com did not include the breakfast, which looked wonderful and was expensive, so we found a lovely little care within a block or two from the hotel for our breakfasts. Lots of tours seem to use the hotel, so the staff is very comfortable speaking in English with everyone.The entrance to the hotel faces the very busy street, but the rooms are all in the back of the hotel and are very quiet. We enjoyed our stay. I would suggest trying to get the breakfast included in the hotel price.

The hotel was clean, nice, the staff friendly and helpful, especially the Concierge. The location was great, within walking distance of many restaurants, and things to see in Amsterdam.

The room was very small and a bit tight for friends. It would be nice for a couple. But the room had a cozy private terrace. And the staff was wonderful! The two desk personnel we encountered were helpful, went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed for a great visit and made a point of having what we needed before we knew we needed it. The hotel was clean, the food just right and always a fresh cup of coffee waiting for us. I would return without thinking twice.
Location.
The modern Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Center is located within Amsterdam Schiphol Airport complex, 21 kilometres from central Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The hotel is linked to the arrival and departure terminals via a 250-metre covered walkway. Adjacent to the World Trade Center, the hotel is within four kilometres of Schiphol-Rijk business park. The tulip fields of Bloemenveiling are nine kilometres away.

The lobby of the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel has neon blue decor and lifts going up through the eight-storey atrium. Staff at the 24-hour front desk can provide currency exchange and information on sightseeing.
The Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel offers a fine dining restaurant, a sports bar, and a hotel bar. The Link @ Sheraton is a comfortable technological lounge where guests have Internet and can even print their boarding passes, free of charge.
The Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel has a business centre, with three PCs offering high-speed Internet access (surcharge). There is a computer station in the lobby, complimentary for sessions of up to 10 minutes. Wireless Internet access (surcharge) is available in public areas. The hotel's 27 meeting rooms can accommodate up to 555 people.

Voyager - Semiformal restaurant overlooks the airport. Giant globe in the center of the room, murals about the history of flight, and a midnight-blue domed ceiling dotted with tiny lights. Hot-and-cold buffet breakfast and a la carte lunch and dinner menus daily. On weekdays, extensive lunch-through-dinner buffet includes freshly cooked fish and a wide range of desserts.
Runway - Large and informal bar-café off the lobby serves an express breakfast, a range of beverages, and a light menu of sandwiches, salads, burgers, pastas, pastries, and ice cream. Hardwood floor, painted wicker chairs, exposed brick walls, and an adjoining smoke-free lounge. Open all day until late evening.
The Gate - Set between the Voyager Restaurant and Cascade, this venue offers impressive views.
Cascade - Peaceful lounge in hotel's eight-story atrium is bathed in natural light. Water cascades over a giant glass panel on one wall. Potted trees and shrubs, and conversationally arranged sofas and armchairs. Open 24 hours; until midnight, drinks and food can be ordered from the adjoining Boomerang Bar.
The hotel is scheduled to open a new health club in spring 2005. During the refurbishment, guests have complimentary access to a temporary 24-hour fitness room, with eight cardio machines, free weights, a TV, complimentary towels, and shower facilities.

The sign inside the center of the terminal suggests the Sheraton is a 500m walk from there when, in fact, it is only about 50 m. One of the most convenient airport hotels I know. Trains downstairs leave for central Amsterdam every few minutes. Good, efficient staff, although the concierge was less knowledgeable than, perhaps, he should be. "great for business"
If your travels rewquire you to get in and out of Amsterdam quickly then this is the hotel for you. Very convenient to transportation for people to come to meet you and the added benefit of the central train lines so you can be in the hague in well under an hour for a morning meeting and back to Amstardam for an afternoon meeting and still be alert. I would like to have seen some more flash in the hallways and rooms with a Dutch theme possibly as they are bland and booring felt like a Sheraton in Minneapolis. "If you need to stay at Schiphol- a great hotel"
You literally never go outside to get from the terminal to this hotel. A very short walk. Plus, because Schiphol has such great shopping and a grocery store you don't have to rely on only the hotel for food though I must say the food was good. Great business hotel. "Most convenient AMS Airport hotel"
Great hotel experience for most convenient hotel to Amsterdam Airport. American style, luxury hotel, clean good size contemporary style rooms. A bit pricey compared to other surrounding options but hotel is absolutely up to prime standards and will not disappoint.

Wondeful location to airport and people where polite, rooms clean..however for the price, the internet access was very expensive. Good for morning flights, without the stress of getting to the airport.

After 10 days touring southern Italy, the sheraton was an oasis. The Italian drivers all named Mario gave us concerns while in Italy, so not having to leave the area in an auto was a nice finish to our trip home. Everything except the price for breakfast the next morning were great.

This hotel is clean and modern and very convenient to Schiphol Airport, but the price tag is a bit steep.
"Ideal for transiting and possibly sightseeing"
My wife and I chose this hotel as we were ending our Baltic cruise in Amsterdam Port and returning home to Spain very early the following day. The access to the hotel is directly from (and in) the airport concourse so inclement weather is no problem - 5 minutes easy walk (with two cases). We spent only from 1300 on 6/9/09 to 0515 on 7/9/09 and had a […] light lunch, evening drinks and dinner (we had a table by the massive windows overlooking the airport activity), all very good in a fine situation. Our room was silent despite having an excellent view of the aircraft stands and taxi-ing area. Our one disappointment was that our bathroom, which had a full bath and separate shower cubicle, had no shower gel supplied and a towel was missing. These omissions were resolved within minutes. Carpet,walls, mattress are worn out, rooms and corridors need face lifting , seems not much has been done , other than lobby and restaurant ,since inauguration which believe has been over 10 years

This is a great Hotel is you are passing through Schipol. The access to the airport & railway station underneath gives it a brilliant location. The food is adequate but drinks are good.
"Relaxing stay, very convenient"
The perfect place to stay whilst in transit or prior to a flight. Extremely attentive staff and a comfortable room. Had a problem with the shower not draining which, whilst annoying, was more than forgivable as the staff were very quick to remedy and very apologetic. Chose this hotel because of the brand and location. The location was great as we arrived after 10 pm so not far to go. The welcome was abysmal, very unhelpful staff, unfriendly and not at all welcoming. The room was cramped and the matress was lumpy and needs to be replaced, the pillows were not the usual quality and also need replacing. Not a good […] night sleep at all. In relation to other top of the line Sheratons this hotel was like the Holiday Inn Express and we would have been better off taking a cab for the extra Euros and time to a similar priced better quality hotel in Amsterdam. Detta hotell är helt fantastiskt! Du behöver inte gå utanför terminalen på Schiphol. Vill du åka in till centrala Amsterdam så kostar det endast 4 euro enkel resa och du kommer mitt in i gröten, dvs centralstationen. Rummen var mycket fina, be om ett rum högt upp med utsikt över landningsbanorna och man ligger och gapar när stora plan landar dygnet […] runt. Bra service, allt toppen! Hotellet er rigtig godt og ligger så man kan gå direkte til det fra lufthavnen tørskoet. Hotelet er i absolut top klasse.

Typisk bisnisshotell. Kjempedyr overnatting og frokost til over 200 per person. Ikke verdt pengene.
Ett perfekt hotell om man har någon dag att spendera i Amsterdam. Rent, snyggt och trevlig personal.
