I was there for a business trip, and i called them a day before to confirm my reservation, they said my room is available. So i went their and the guy at the front desk told me they have no more room available anymore and he wanted me to find a hotel by the airport which i needed a hotel around downtown for my business. We checked in at about 8 pm on in the evening and we were very very tired, and we were sent off to our room routinely. When we got up there the cleaning team was in the room and we had to lug several luggage bags back down (and we requested the cleaning team to call down for us so they can work on an alternate room). I asked ' would it be half an hour, twenty minutes or an hour?' and she said she didn't know yet. We had to ask the other person at the check in desk who was equally dismissive and unapologetic to find a room (in a hotel this size I just could not believe they could not find a room for us, with a reservation). "You get what you pay for"
The staff and service was very friendly at this hotel but our experience was a little disappointing. After a long drive we arrived at the hotel to check in only to realize we parked in the very back so we had to drag all our stuff along with our 2 kids to the opposite side due to all of the construction. When we checked in we were given the room key […] to a room that was already occupied!! It was awkward walking in on another person's room. After going all the way back down with all of our belongings we got the key to another room and when we got to the room the bathroom door was a sliding door that had a broken track so you could not even use the restroom with the door fully closed. The room was hot and the beds were not as comfortable as a typical Sheraton bed. I will say the concierge and staff were extremely friendly and welcoming but overall the condition of the hotel was not very relaxing and fresh. I would only stay there again post renovations. The ONLY thing I thought was odd was the parking. We tried valet, but they told us to circle around again as they thought we were leaving yet we were arriving...so we circled around and self-parked. This was a very nice hotel. It is clean and well furnished in the center of downtown Atlanta. The room was very clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable bed I have slept in (and I travel a lot). The hotel has both tower rooms and courtyard rooms. "Near America's Mart"
We stayed at the Sheraton because of its location near the America's Mart. It was a 3 block walk, which was very convenient. The downside was the Sheraton charged $22 per night to park in their lot (unexpected). Because there was a potential for rain, I asked at check-in if there was a shuttle to the mart and the associate didn't know where the mart […] was or if there was a shuttle. She called the concierge who came over and also didn't have any info, however, she called someone else who eventually said there wasn't a shuttle service. Our room was near the elevator which was unfortunate because people are very loud when getting off the elevator at all hours of the night. On the plus side, the location was very convenient. Our 3 block walk passed an assortment of restaurants and there was also a restaurant inside the hotel. We didn't take advantage of the pool, but it was very nice with a pretty patio area. I am very upset with the Sheraton Downtown and the Sheraton Airport in Atlanta. I booked a five day stay. When I arrived at the Sheraton Downtown I was told they were sold out and did not have a room. I had business to conduct in downtown Atlanta within walking distance of this hotel. I waited at the counter approximately forty-five minutes before it […] could be determined first of all I was prepaid and find me a room at the Sheraton Airport. I was then shuttled to Sheraton Airport. When I got to the Airport Sheraton they insisted I wasn't prepaid and had me wait at the counter another 30 minutes while the two hotels worked this out. Mind you I was up at 3:00am to travel cross country and this was now 6:30 pm and I had not eaten since breakfast. Sheraton offered me a 10% discount at their dining room for 1 meal an insult. I got to me room and at 9:30 pm I get a call my room is not paid and I need to pay at that point I spoke to Hotel.com and you straightened this out. The next night one of the hotel staff knocking at my door at 9:00pm saying I wasn't paid for the next four nights. I asked for the manager call me. At this point I don't remember if I called you or the manager called you or the Sheraton Downtown but it was finally corrected. The change in hotels cost me extra time each day, the cost of travel to downtown, the frustration, and the difference in rates between the Downtown and Airport.
