It's during the transaction from super 8 to best western inn. so no name outside and inside. We thought we got wrong place. There was nobody in the front desk. After 10 minutes, finally found one staff to confirm the reservation.

Our room was spacious with holes in the walls, with wires showing. The closet shook every time we walked around the room. The walls are so thin, that we did not get any sleep, could hear the people in the next room (farthest away from the bed) snoring. Also, I had forgot my Pendleton coat in the room and called back to the hotel, they had downstairs. I had asked them to put my name on it and please put it in the safe. I had called back 4 times before I had someone pick it up for me, ( we live about 41/2 hours away). Each time the worker had to see if it was still there and my name was not in or on it. And it was not in a safe place. I had called back down to let them know who would be picking it up for me. when the person arrived they did not even ask a name. This place of business was very unprofessional, and we will never be going back to this hotel again.

Stayed Thanksgiving night. Hotel was going through renovation or something. No heater in the room. The room also had a slight smell but the beach is very close and within walking distance. It was for one night and it did the job.

No heat or air control in the room, toilet leaked, sink and shower did not drain well, frig made 'running' noise constantly, room was VERY hot (and it was November). Made it impossible to sleep or be comfortable. Very disappointing. Mattress seemed old, as it was lumpy and sagged toward the middle when you laid down. Also no longer has a view of the ocean due to tree height on the lot in front of hotel. Wouldn't stay there again. Checked out a day early.

For the money it was worth it. Breakfast had variety but it was almost all sugar and carbs. Front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. Couldn't figure out the AC in the room. The location was great, within walking distance of the Long Beach attractions.

A nice hotel with all of the amenities one expects today. However it lacks the quality which would give it a 4 or 5 rating, e.g., towels, soaps, bedding, breakfast, etc. Our room had a broken - missing pieces - thermostat (our window was able to open for fresh air.) Another of our rooms had missing chalking missing around the tub and handles which will someday cause water problems. The lobby had a computer but no printer. The receptionist, however, offered and was able to print our airline boarding passes in less the 15 seconds.

My bed was lumpy, sheets were old and worn, I could hear my neighbors, there wasn't any AC so I had to keep the windows open and could hear street noise. But it had the standard amenities, free internet and a GREAT location. It was walking distance from the beach and central Long Beach. That alone was worth the price unless you aren't willing to put up with a hotel that's a bit run down.

Beds left a lot to be desired. Of all Super8's stayed at the worst beds by far. Showers had nothing to help keep you from sliping and falling. Breakfast had very little to chose from, Tv was in lobby and not where you could see it while earing.

The "free" breakfast was pretty lame. OK if you wanted make you own waffles, with no butter for the toast either. The apples were rotten inside. The washer and dryer were broken and not repaired while we were there. We were not given our phone messages nor our wake up call. There was no air conditioning nor fans so the room air was stagnant; even opening the window there wasn't a breeze to help out.

Like most Super 8's, you get what you pay for. It was the only hotel with space available in April for the popular Kite Festival weekend in August. Tough to rate the overall value as the price was escalated for the crowded weekend. It's a pretty old hotel, but overall, cleanliness was good. Hotel staff was courteous and friendly. Continental breakfast was sufficient in variety and quality of food. Bread, pastries, waffles, cereal and yogurt plus beverages. The hotel doesn't have a pool, which is disappointing, but common in Long Beach. The location is right in town making local food and shops a very short walk. A little further walk to the beach, it's definitely not beach front.

When we arrived there was no luggage stand for our suitcase. They supplied one when I asked. Later we noticed no hangers for our clothes. The evening person @ the desk said that they don't supply them. We said that we had always had them before and had never been to a motel where there wasn't hangers. The morning manager couldn't believe there weren't any in the room. She saw that there wasn't any and sent someone to buy some for us. The hair dryer was missing from the wall in the bathroom. They weren't aware that it was missing & installed a new one that day. The remote control for the TV had dead battieries and the third set we were given finally worked. They need new furniture for the lobby. I made the same comment last year and it hasn't been changed. The outside landscaping needs weeding and scrubs trimmed. It is even worse than last year. We were told that the owner is trying to sell the motel.

Very uneven impression from the stay. The Good Stuff: decent location, very close to the middle of town -- convenient to shops, and a 7- or 8-minute walk to the beach. Room was older, but clean. Not-So-Good Stuff: When we arrived, we discovered the advertised Hair Dryer was not present, and the telephone had no dial tone. Night desk clerk "cannibalized" a hair dryer and phone from another room, and gave them to us. Hair dryer worked -- phone still did not (due to apparent wiring break in the wall). Asked manager the next day about it, and she said she'd make a note for maintenance -- and offered to compensate us with a free night at this same hotel in the future when we checked out. Upon checkout, different manager on duty -- and NO offer of any compensation. Also, since the hotel is near the cool sea breezes, there's no air conditioning. But, if you leave the windows open, the air won't circulate into the room UNLESS you prop the door to the hallway open. I doubt most folks would want to do this while they sleep.... Average hotel, mostly friendly, below average communication, and has some logistical "challenges" to overcome.

The room had no Air Conditioning and it was a hot summer weekend. The bathtub was also really not clean - I wouldn't take a shower for fear of getting a foot fungus. Don't stay here unless you're desperate.

No screen in window on the 2nd floor above the overhang. Had 2 kids with me, did not feel safe with window open at night. Came back from a late dinner and there were 3 Long Beach police outside. no air conditioner, leaky bathroom sink, I question if they were queen size beds, sunk in the middle. Dropped something on the floor found food crumbs on the floor.

The hotel is supposed to be a non-smoking. The desk clerk on duty, was a chain smoker and went outside to smoke every 20 to 30 minutes. Very Unprofessional! The elevator was very noisy, with dirty carpet and smelled like smoke.

Broken TV, broken phone, no clock, no radio, cheap shampoo and two saggy old beds. This hotel is all worn out. Yes it was relatively cheap but at $179 CAD for one night we expected more than cigarette ash on sitting on a worn out window sill. On the positive side: the old fashioned, single glazed windows opened right up, so we could have thrown ourselves out if we wanted to.

It was a great hotel within walking distance of all activities. Great rooms even though there is no air conditioning. It really did not make any difference though as all we had to do was open the window. Breakfast was a little skimpy.

The hotel is located right in the heart of Long Beach so is close to many points of interest and restaurants. Even though we made our reservation only a few days before our stay we were given a quiet room on the third floor.

Room and hotel was clean and as comfortable as it could be. The hotel does not have air conditioning and we were there when outside temps got up to the mid 90's. At check-out we learned that fans were available had we asked for them at the reception desk. Free breakfast was minimal. Not even any cold cereal for the kids. Everyone was lined up to make waffles at the one waffle maker. Staff were friendly and helpful. No hair dryers in room, so be sure to bring one.

I have NEVER experienced a more friendly staff. They greeted us upon arrival and even greeted my dog.If we needed anything they took care of it right away. It was the best experience ever. I only wish they had A/C and a little softer towels. The people were amazing.Close to everything. Would definitely stay again!

We showed up to check in at 4p.m. went to our room which was already occupied. finally got a room at 6p.m. washer and dryer out of order. elevator needs major repair(we took the stairs) breakfast was horrible. no coffee , out of waffle mix at 7am. two end pieces of bread to choose from and old raisin bran. We ate breakfast in town needless to say. Our room had not enough towels, no trash can liners and the cans smelled horrible. This place needs some maintenance and they need to have what they say they have i.e breakfast and washer and dryer. very disappointing trip to long beach this time

Lobby is nice, clean. Day staff was friendly and anxious to help with advice. Afternoon staff was friendly, but seldom alone. Friends visiting, I suppose. Dress was not appropriate, unless advertising for other business. Evening hot water was tepid. Bed was over-firm for our tastes. Difficult to find Motel. Very quiet (off season).

Not fancy but very clean and comfortable place to stay. Helpful staff. One of the best things about it is that you don't have to use your car. It is right in the middle of town with restaurants, shops, and beach within easy walking distance.

Thank you for your review. We are in the process of getting a new look for the out side of our property. We have just about completed our new look for our interior and by the end of this year the outside will be just as beautiful. We look forward to you coming back and we hope you like what you will see.
