Super 8 Richmond/Chamberlayne Rd - Richmond

The bathroom and linens were clean and that is most important to me. The room itself -a smoking room as I requested- was not very clean and obviously there had been no attempt at freshening the air. I have stayed in many smoking rooms and some are clean and fresh with no overpowering odor of smoke. This one reeked!

This is a Super-8 so don;t expect the Ritz, but others in our group payed over twice as much for Holiday inn and breakfast was not included. Super-8 had Waffle, danish, cereal, bagel and coffee, juice for breakfast. room was large and clean enough. Would have liked newer linens on the beds.

We checked in with dog in tow, and then when we returned to the room, we were told our dog could not be left alone in the room. This is NOT a dog friendly hotel and the staff regarding this situation were less than friendly as well.

My room was extremely dusty. To the point where by sitting on the bed, or even walking around the room I saw dust particles floating in the air. Left over dog hair was on top bed cover. It was alright for the price that you pay... I stayed there 4nights and it wasn't to bad. The bed was kind of hard and the pillows was flat!! But I loved the picture of Richmond va that was hanging over my bed.. The room service lady was very nice and helpful, the overall stay was good I guess I could say.

Me and my fiance always look for a place for us to meet up since we live in different areas about 4 hours from each other and I came across this one. When you look for a place that is cheap to stay at because neither of you make a lot of money, you never can guarantee what you are going to expect. When I arrived, I was a bit taken back; the common spaces of this facility are definitely showing their age and could really use a little TLC. The rear and side access doors (at least the side door nearest my room) don't work. The pass key won't open any of them. Scarier still, the hotel is obviously aware of this because the rear entrance is propped […] open; I felt so safe. The "front desk" is secured by bullet-proof glass and a small pass-through just large enough for paperwork, ID, etc. The elevator appears to be need of some attentionas well. To be fair, it may just be that all of these spaces are old and need a serious facelift. My room was a surprise; clean and relatively well maintained. It could have been better but I was expecting an economy hotel stay, so keeping that in mind, it was acceptable. The bed, a huge king-size platform provided two painful nights of sleep. Are box springs really a major investment. My only other comment about the room was the bathroom door, which is rusting and misaligned. The ceiling in the bathroom was covered with mold from a waterleak in the room above, all they did was try to paint over it. The carpet was so dirty you could see the dirt wash off the bottom of your feet when you got in the shower. This is our second stay at this Super8, we love the location and it was 1mile from where we wanted to eat and 3.6 from our intended destination. The one thing we would like to see in the room would be a microwave and fridge. The WiFi connection was wonderful, the bathroom was spotless and the beds smelled fresh.

You get what you pay for....In this case you do ok. The rooms have a fridge. It has a small pool. The continental breakfast is not that good. It is located near major roads, stores, etc....Buy your breakfast and make it in the microwave.....

My daughter and I were on our annual vacation and our first stop was Richmond for July 4 fireworks. We found the hotel with no problem, the reservation was accurate, the staff friendly and helpful. It is a bit far from downtown, but that's why we didn't pay $100+/night.

the hotel had a sour odor when we came in the front door...not a new hotel but i said for $45 for 2 days i would try it. Went up the elevator and went into the hallway and smelt a very strong curry smell. Went into the room and it had nice pictures and looked ok. I took an exit too earily (not the one right off interstate). I questioned the safety of the location after going down that street. It is a nice clean place with respectable guests and good price. The staff is nice as well. I will stay again but will take the right exit.

The hotel is decent. I had the room closest to the front desk and everytime someone would open the front door there is a really loud door chime. The room was decent. The internet worked pretty good. You will need to get the wireless key from the front desk.
