The ice bucket was cracked so I had to walk down to the office and get another as soon as I got into the room. Get to breakfast prior to 9am, I got there the 2nd day of my trip at 915am and it was all cleaned out. The day prior I got breakfast at 845am and was plenty of light food to eat. I was in the annex building which was next door to the main building. Great location and easy to find. Simple room and nothing spectacular.

We were expecting something closer to the Massanutten Resort, but that was my fault not paying attention. The hotel was very orderly and clean. The guy who checked us in lacked personality and seemed like he would rather be anywhere else. Options for vegetarian food were limited, we did find a nice mexican restaurant though. Overall, we had a nice, quiet, relaxing stay.

Great! Comfortable, attractive, clean. Hotel hosts were very accommodating. If arriving after 6 PM, call ahead to get info about how to get into your room. There is an after hours number to call, but it is likely easier on all for late arrivals to make the call before 6.

The Appalachian Trail crosses Skyline Drive at Swift Run Gap, set just beyond the Swift Run Gap Entrance to Shenandoah National Park. To the south is Hightop Mountain Parking for Hightop, which rises to 3,587 feet (1,093 meters) in elevation. North of the entrance are the South River Overlook and Picnic Area. Hotel is old. Front desk is nice. Rooms are clean but so old the filth shines through. The breakfast is the worst of a complimentary ever, and they have rat traps on the floor in the breakfast room which is a big turn off. The parking lot stayed iced over with snow while every surrounding had it paved away. They allow mostly truck and group travelers […] so be prepared to have to park far because the vans with trailers take up most of the space leaving you stuck in the back. The best thing about this hotel is that they were able to let me check in early When I got there no one was at the front desk I wanted almost 15 minutes for somebody. When I got to my room none of the lights worked except for the bathroom. The remotes was almost dead and there was a crack under the carpet in the floor that you could feel when you walked. This was my 6th time staying at this specific Super 8. The location is perfect for me when I visit. The hotel appears to be very nice and it is groomed daily. My room has always been as clean as clean can get and it probably fits in the price range appropriately. What would make this hotel a 5 across the board would be improving the breakfast offered […] and providing a bigger and safer parking lot. The breakfast offered is sad and it only runs until 9 am which is too early especially if you are coming in late and want to sleep in. And the parking lot is too small that when the hotel is full there is no place to park due to truck parking overtaking the parking lot. Plus, on this last occasion a vehicle hit my car and left a dent in the rear bumper that I have to pay for myself. All in all, it is still a nice place to stay. Happy sleeping! Read more

Front desk clerk was very nice. Rest of the experience was horrendous. As soon as we walked in, my wife commented that this place looked like they rented rooms by the hour. Room smelled bad. Sheets & pillows had hair on them and had ABSOLUTELY NOT been changed recently. We left 4 hours later after resting in a chair because the bed was so disgusting. Last time I stayed at the hotel I had decided to never stay again, but then circumstances made it so that I ended up staying there one night before heading to my destination. I arrived and my last standing opinion of this hotel completely changed. They took everything that had been said and worked to correct it. The hotel lobby no longer reeks of cigarette […] smoke and now it's a non-smoking area to boot. The rooms, at least the one I stayed in which was the exact same as my last stay, wasn't as cluttered. Check out my pics. I hope that Hotels.com removes them from the listings. I am still suffering from from the bites all over my body. The parking lot was empty -that should have been my signal. Stay away if you love yourself because I still have nightmares about it.

We stayed at this hotel because there was nothing else available during my daughter's parents' weekend at JMU. I was taken aback first by the cost...(clearly inflated because it was parents' weekend.) The pillows were flat and the room smelled.

The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. The pillows were in terrible condition. The bathroom was not stocked properly with soaps and towels. It was very over priced because it was Parents Weekend. We will drive from much farther away to get a nicer room next year.

Super 8 in Harrisonburg is OK if you lack choices on Family or other big football weekends. It was a bit noisy, but clean after I changed from the obviously-not-Non-Smoking room. I passed on the Continental Breakfast's white toast and Captain Crunch and headed toward JMU. The hotel is all right for a truck stop, not a whole weekend.

Positives: Excellent location right off I-81. Very friendly and helpful staff. Smoke free room, clean but dated, hot water, sufficiently quiet. Negatives: The lobby and hallways all smelled smoky, carpets smelly, sparse continental breakfast, a bit run-down.

This was one of the worse motels I ever stayed in (and I've stayed in lots): Bed smelled bad! A/C ran loud for 20 seconds but did not cool at all. Tub drain stopped up. Right across the street from a truck stop - "Jake Brakes' and horns heard most of the night. If this were free, I wouldn't stay here!

Stayed in back side away from highway 81 South and slept a full seven hours. Continued second half of my journey south to North Carolina with renewed energy thanks for my stay at Super *.

I got what I paid for I suppose. For the price I paid per night ..the place needed major renovations, shower made a kreaking noise when I stepped in it. .The colors were very dark inside.
