Visited Helena to visit my son at Carroll College. My room was clean, they had a nice breakfast and staff was great! Excellent value for under $60 a night.

Our stay at the Super 8 in Helena, MT, was OK. The rooms were worn, but clean. We booked through hotels.com, but the hotel lost the reservation and ended up double-charging us (they had a new worker). Luckily, hotels.com was awesome and called the hotel to help us. The staff needs to learn that a smile alone does not a good customer service experience make. When my key card was shut off, each day of my stay, requiring me to go downstairs with all my stuff and back up to my room a second time, EACH day, all I received was a smile and "here you go," when they handed me the refreshed key card. Also, no one bothered to make up my room, so I had to actually request housekeeping services to which they smiled and said, "We'll take care of it!" No apology for the fact that it wasn't already done. The room looked clean on the surface, but the edges of the carpet had not been vacuumed in so long that they were white with dust and lint. There were hand prints on the mirrors and surfaces of all the furniture. There was even mildew growing on the shower head. The bed was like sleeping on a brick, and the pillows were old and lumpy. We stayed overnight at the Super 8 in anticipation of an early flight out of the Helena airport. The room was clean and comfortable and met our needs perfectly. We arrived about 7:00 at night and appreciated the free internet. We would definitely stay there again.

The lobby has been upgraded and is very nice. I was impressed when I walked in. Unfortunately the rooms were a different story. The staff were nice and friendly. They were thoughtful enough to provide a maintenance card to let them know what if anything needed fixing. Bright and airy breakfast area. Convenient RV or Big Rig truck parking right across the street. They are on top of their game.

The room had a bad odor, the bed was dirty and the shower had no water pressure to take a shower. This was a nightmare hotel and would never, ever stay at this hotel again.

Just me stayed 2 nights. Facility is dated, but clean. I needed directions and the nice man at the desk printed me out a map. Could use some more soundproofing. A good place to flop and shower.

The Super 8 Helena charged me an extra "TP" fee before letting me check in. The desk clerk said that Hotels.com would not add the local tax to its list of charges, so I had to shell out more money. This kind of gouging has not happened to me before with Hotels.com reservations, so the property may be responsible for the superfluous expense.

The staff are exceptionally nice and helpful. The free breakfast is a nice touch, but there is a reason it's free. The rooms are well kept and comfortable. The only complaint I have is that the hotel is RIGHT next to the interstate.

My non-smoking room and as marked on door smelled like chain smokers had just left. Yuck. Will not stay here again. Smoking banned for quite awhile yet room smells awful which makes me wonder about cleaning. Used to stay in Super 8s alot, been a few years, but I hope this is not what they've become.

Excellent - we stay here all the time when going thru Helena but you have to book ahead of time as they are always booked solid. Hotel has easy access from highways and good access to shops and resaurants

The hotel is very nice and comfortable. But I went to check in, she told me hotels.com does not add in there tourist and travel fee of $1.00. Not a big deal except not only should everything be paid for when I book the room online she said it had to be paid in cash. I could not use my card. This is 2012, I never carry cash. She had to give me directions […] to the closest atm so I could get cash- and the 2.50 atm fee on top of it. She said I could not check in until I paid it. That's ridiculous. Read more

I was in town for three night on business and decided to stay due to its proximity to my work location. While the decor is plain and simple, but clean and orderly. The only negative was that due to my late arrival the only rooms left during check-in were smoking rooms. Having no choice I accepted for the night and was hardly able to walk-in the room […] due to the smell of smoke in the hallway and room itself. Luckily the staff was understanding and worked to clear a non-smoking room for the remaining two days. If it wasn't for the actions and their ability to move me I am not sure what I would have done. The room was acceptable, although the sink was grimy. The hallways smelled horrible and the carpet in the hallways was filthy. The service on the day we checked out was lousy. The front desk clerk was in front of the building smoking a cigarette with another employee. I had to go get her in order to get some help. She did not even apologize.
