Enjoyed the stay. Only having stayed at many Courtyard facilities, I was a little disappointed not to find a frig, micro etc, in the room. Bathroom sink area a bit smaller than most. Other wise a nice stay.

We stayed for four days and had very enjoyable time. The hotel is near shopping , points of interest and walking opportunities. The park like setting with swimming pool is very attractive and restful. Complimentary breakfast is convenient and adequate. Overall, avery nice experience.

"Close to Boardwalk"
Grandma was right you get what you pay for. When we checked in and asked the desk guy if he could recommend a place for dinner, he seemed kind of grumpy and said her did not live in the area. Not the attitude I needed after a long drive. It was off season and we did find a cute pizza place near the hotel. I was in Santa Cruz to walk jog a half marathon. […] There was no soundproofing in the rooms I thought the folks upstairs were running their race a night early. My friend didn't finish her race and did arrange for a late checkout, which was nice. "Not so super 8"
Fresh paint covering broken balcony. Hot tub was cemented over. Room key didn't work had to ask for new room key after EVERY time we left. Room smelled of stale smoke and wet dogs.
"Nothing fancy but very comfortable."
There is a very good feel to this motel, although we stayed here in off-season and can't speak to how it is when it is full. The room was spacious, well-equipped and clean and the breakfast was your basic Super 8 cereal and toast. And just two blocks from the beach. We were most happy with our stay.

I had trouble with the internet connection. That is very important to me.

Don't let the outside fool you. This hotel has very large, very clean rooms. The parking area is in closed and I felt very safe. I was a single woman, traveling by myself. it is close to everything
"Basic Hotel, Near Boardwalk"
Basic Hotel, Near Boardwalk - thats it Its a standard motel with a small pool and take out breakfast in the reception area - but you can sit on the walkway outside the room and see the sun set over the top of the boadwalk rides...
The managers were very helpful and very pleasant to deal with. They allowed us to utilize the parking after our check out time and they allowed us to use the restrooms after our cheer competition. They were very nice people. The accomodations were also nice.
"its really blue. not the one across the street"
The hotel was clean and quiet except for some kids in the pool. who cares tho. the area is not so fancy, but literally hop skip and jump from the boardwalk and beach. the main street is pacific, and not too far away either. i would stay again.
"Management"
the management was not very respectful towards right from the begining. We added one more person to our trip at the last second and they argued that we had to get charged more. Which is fine but their arguement for the extra charge was that we could not have three people in a one bed room. I asked if we were getting a two bed room since we were not […] allowed to have three people in a one bed room and they said no. They gave an example of 6-8 party goers taking up a one bed room which we were clearly only three people. Later that night we had just arrived back at our hotel room after being gone for most of the day the manager came to us, again right after we got back, and informed us that we had complaints all around our room for being to loud. We told him we had just came back and were actually leaving again. We directed his attention to the party at a apartment building right nextdoor. He did not apologize and starting yelling at the party at the apartment. Despite the frustration with the manager we were still able to have a good vacation. Read more

Very good location, new carpet, new paint very nice to stay for the price. We walked to the Boardwalk. Would recommend.

The hotel was clean. The management was friendly and accommodating. The proximity to the boardwalk was great. Awe were even able to walk downtown from there. The parking was a little cramped, but not having to pay for parking was well worth the tradeoff. We plan to stay here whenever we return.

If looking for an inexpensive hotel that is close to the Boardwalk, with few amenities, this hotel may work for you, otherwise, I'd avoid it. Even the Super8 across the street seemed to be in better shape and provided superior beddings.
"Niece Hotel - Great Location"
We spent 2 nights in the hotel. The room was spacious and clean. Hotel 2 blocks away from Boardwalk, so with a nice wheather and boardwalk we just use the hotel to sleep. Also is walk distance from downtown.
"Not so SUPER..."
The woman at the desk was rude and insulting. Breakfast consisted of a few items on a counter, "grab & run" or return to the room to eat...but we were able to park our car and walk to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk which worked.

"low cost, great location"
basic room with basic amenities. went during the week; lots of vacancy. 2 blocks from Boardwalk and beach. Affordable.
This hotel is not very good. The walls are paper thin, the breakfast they list is almost nothing, it is cheap and close to the boardwalk so if that is all you care about then this might be ok with you. Great for college students with limited funds and wanting to party for the weekend.

Hotel was ok. Block and a half off the boardwalk. Surrounding neighborhood is a little rough.

TERRIFIC location for the boardwalk. It's a classic small beach motel...not stylish or luxe, but clean and friendly. Rates are cheap and location is great. It's not a resort; it's not a hotel. "Walk to the Boardwalk"
The hotel is within walking distance to the Beach Boardwalk and has a generously sized parking lot -- a real bonus in this area. The service was wonderful. The bed was decent and the large jacuzzi tub was a great way to get out all the kinks from the walking we had done. good value hotel let down by pillow shortage? Only one thin one each, when pressed was given one extra - to share!! Oh and paper thin walls didn't need my TV sound on to watch American Idol!!. Other than that good vaue
