"Great location, clean, friendly staff"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 23, 2013
Excellent stay. Was greeted by a very friendly staff person, sorry, didn't get her name. Checked out with a very friendly rep named Heather. Thought I left something in the room. Received a follow up call from Melissa. We can't say enough about the staff. We will be returning in a few days and are looking forward to another great stay. Thank you.
"Great, comfortable, beautiful"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 15, 2013
Our family of 4 (including two children under 5) plus a Grandma and Uncle stayed at the Parkside for three nights while visiting Victoria. We had a two bedroom suite. It doesn't get more comfortable than this place. Beautiful full kitchen, large dining area, balcony, two beautiful bathrooms, gas fireplaces in master bedroom and living room. Beautiful lobby and pool as well. We loved it! Our one and only complaint is that the laundry facility in the room was a combined washer/dryer. It took us several attempts to figure out how to use it and then after trying to dry a load of clothes for 2 days, we finally gave up. We also read every page of the lengthy instruction manual and still didn't get it. If you have a baby like us and need to wash clothes, you'll probably have to hang dry them unless our machine was broken or we just couldn't figure out what we were doing wrong. Despite that we will stay here again for sure! Awesome place.

The Admiral Inn was a charming hotel, well maintained and convenient to all of downtown Victoria. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet and even had a sofa and easy chair in addition to coffee maker, microwave, and refrigerator. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and was shocked and saddened to learn the property has been sold and will be torn down to make room for luxury condos. One less good, inexpensive place for folks to stay.
"Victoria in January"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 22, 2013
I was pleasantly surprised at the hotel. True it was old and somewhat outdated; I did however feel it was clean. The hotel is located a block from the inner harbor, so close to the tourist area. I was miffed at the $15/day parking charge.
"Excellent in all ways"
I was overwhelmed with the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff..from the manager to hlousekeeping, to front desk staff, to maintenance...in my opinion, this is the most hospitable hotel on the entire island. Staff went over and above in assuring that i had all the help I needed. Furthermore, I observed them assisting other guests with the same […] courtesy and dignity. in addition, I was able to relax and get to all the attractions I wanted to see with ease...kudos to management and staff! "You'll get more than what you pay for."
Close to hospital, airport and restaurants. Continental breakfast was minimal. I had a view overlooking a trailer park. Free wireless worked just fine. Staff was friendly and helpful. I'd say it was worth the price. I wasn't expecting a Marriott. They delivered what they promised for a reasonable price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent friendly staff"
The staff when beyond necessary to help me and I would recommend this hotel if you want friendly and helpful people greeting you on arrival. Usually everyone is tired and just want to get to their rooms quick and with out any hassles. This was the case with me and I appreciate their efficiency.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better than Expected"
We were quite skeptical of this hotel based off of reviews but it was the best economical and geographical location for a hotel at that time in our trip. We were pleasantly surprised though. The only problem that we could see but that never posed a problem for us was the proximity of the trailer park next door. Though there seems to be a sense of ownership […] from those trailer park residents over this hotel as the hotel experiences very minimal theft. All in all, we would pick this hotel again and we've stayed at our fair share of hotels that cost over twice as much a night and enjoyed them as well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"disappointing"
This hotel states that it has a 24-hr desk. This is not true. My plane arrived late and when I got to the hotel, there was a sign in the window that the desk was closed and would open again at 7:00 in the morning. So, at 12:30 in the morning, I had to find a place to stay. I decided not to return to the hotel and was unable to obtain any refund for […] a 4-night booking. In order to submit this review, I had to rate components of the hotel I did not experience, but there was no option for "undecided" or "don't know". Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"location"
Location was what we needed-close to an airport, However, right next-door was a very unsavory-looking trailer-park. Not sure how safe our vehicle would be to leave, so we didn't. Outside the hotel was very appealing. The front-desk employees were extremely helpful and courteous. Definitley, they made the stay tolerable. The condition of the room was […] very questionable.Glad I got the room as inexpensively as i did. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

ok, average. convenient to airport.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
WE FOUND THE RUGS WERE VERY DIRTY AND DID NOT EVEN TAKE SHOES OFF UNTIL BEDTIME. PAPER ITEMS WERE BEHIND LITTLE DRESSER BETWEEN BEDS. DID NOT LIKE THE LOOSENESS OF THE SHEETS, AS IF THEY HAD BEEN RE-USED(NOT TUCKED IN PROPERLY AND DIDNT SEEM TO BE CLEAN SHEETS. BEDS WAY TOO SMALL!! WILL NOT BE BACK.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was so nice and helpful. It was great to receive the great welcome after dealing with the long-weekend traffic and all the people on the ferry.Hope to come back again. ThanksGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The Super 8 Motel Victoria Airport"
My room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff, especially a desk clerk named, Mandy, were very helpful in making my stay a very pleasant . "No other choice within reason"
The staff were very pleasent, helpfully and polite couldn't ask for more. As for the motel/hotel, they like most places in Victoria triple the price for a room during the summer months and I find it extremely rude. I know they need to balance out there costs for the year but it feels like your being robbed especially when the place is a one or two star […] at best. Normally for saftey reasons first I would never stay at a place like this but it was the only room left close to the area I needed to be in and we were only staying one night. The hotel is surrounded by a grubby industrial park on one side and a trailer park filled and I mean filled with garbage on the other. In fact a number of the trailers appeared tobe in accidents at one time or another. The driveway entrance onto the motel/hotel is more of a laneway behind a gas station and a fast food restaurant. My wife felt very unsafe, she would not even go out to the car unless someone was with her. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient but problems with booking"
I booked a room through hotels. ca. I said I was bringing a pet and the person I dealt with even went as far as to ask me the weight of the dog. When I got to the hotel late on a rainy night, the manager had no info about the pet. He accommodated me but I ended up on the second floor, far from an exit. Also, hotels.ca did not let me know there was a […] charge for pets. The room was just fine - quiet and clean. I did try to use the hotel phone and was told the switchboard was "not in operation"but with cell phones, that's not a big deal. I'm just glad I didn't end up sleeping in the parking lot with my elderly dog. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good enough, for the price"
You get what you pay for. For the price, it's not bad. It's older and not as nice but it was pretty clean. Staff was really friendly too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"clean butworn"
The room was non-smoking and we were allowed to bring our small dog. It was very clean with no smell of cigarette smoke as is often found in rooms that accomodate pets. It is close to the airport and Sydney ferry terminal and is just 1/2 a block off the highway. There was no sound of the highway traffic to be heard in our room. There is a White Spot […] across the highway which served a good breakfast. The motel is an old one and was in quite a 'run-down' area .For the age of the building and it's poor surroundings I thought it was too expensive. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Yikes"
This hotel was scary. It was in a McDonald's parking lot next to a trailer park. By "trailer" I mean holiday trailer missing wheels. I was scared to park my car there. The hotel was shabby. Continental breakfast was cereal. The only good thing about it is that it is close to the airportGenuine Hotels.com guest review
