"Low rate, and you get what you pay for (Filth)"
Dirty hotel, but you get what you pay for, and this was the cheapest. The room is shabby, with old furniture, peeling wall paper, a gross smell coming out of what was probably a mold infested air conditioner. The air conditioner was so noisy we had to turn it off to sleep, but then the room got hot and you could hear all the sirens on the street outside. […] The grossest part was the bathroom, with filthy vents, and cigarette smoke coming in, even though we had a smoke free room, ALL THE ROOMS AROUND US WERE SMOKING ROOMS and their smoke was in ours. DO NOT WALK TO THE METRO. It is through a skanky, disgusting side street filled with dirty shops and dumpsters overflowing with rotten garbage. We tried it once, then opted to park at various locations because it was not that much more than the $25 dollars we paid for 4 people to ride to the Smithsonian station. We would never walk that street at night, and we live near Oakland CA. We saw families hoofing it through there and felt bad for them, but our car was too small to give them a ride. The pool was OK, but closed early. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"price did not equal stay"
Definitely not worth the price we paid. I'd say a $50 a night at best. The room was small, somewhat grungey, with fuzzy tv reception, and wallpaper ready to peel away. The breakfast didn't have much of a selection, with coffee missing on a couple of mornings. However, the location is not far from a metro station, as we usually walk for our vacation […] s. "DO NOT STAY THERE!!!"
This hotel does not deserve its name. The area is not safe, the 4-lane road in front of the motel makes it easy to get there, but is also really noisy. Our room was beneath the stairs, so very dark. The carpet was so worn and dirty that my feet were black after walking on it. The bathroom was not very clean either. But all this was topped by breakfast. […] We have stayed in lots of budget motels, but never had such an awful breakfast. It is only served until 9 am, the room is tiny for the number of rooms. People had to queue for ages or eat outside. At 8.45 the buffet was not refilled because it was "just before 9" according to the staff. One lady at the reception was competent, everybody else not fit for the job: no clue, unfriendly, unresponsive. There are a number of other motels in the area, so you have lots of other places to stay. Do not choose this one! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a great hotel"
The breakfast area is too small for the number of guests. The swimming pool was ok the first day then turned green and was unusable. The metro was furthur away then we thought it would be and not a very nice area to walk through to get to it. No restaurants close by. We left an item in the room but when we called the next day they did not have it.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was just awful! The venue was over all very dirty and dated. The breakfest area was the worst I had ever seen, with only 6 samll tables and a sign making it very clear that food was not to be removed from the room. In order to get a hard bolied egg, you had to reach over a trash bag that was attached to a drawer. This was the only place to […] put your trash. I did call the hotel before making the reservation to confirm that it was infact a safe, easy, short walk to the Verizon Center, I was assured by hotel staff that it was a 1.4 mile walk and was safe for walking after midnight. It took us over an hour to walk to the Verizon Center and we were not comfotable walking back after midnight. I will not staying at another Quality Inn anywhere across the country. It is obvious that standards are not uphelp from location to location. Very disappointing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Stay somewhere else"
The hotel was not what I think of when I see Quality Inn. It was a run down building. The people working there tried their best. The toilet did not flush well, the air conditioner had trouble and often shut down and the maid service sprayed an excess of Fabreeze trying to hide the musty old building smell. The motel was close to a Metro stop, maybe […] seven blocks away. Getting to the Metro was not bad but getting back was since back was up a steep hill. The motel was in a shady neighborhood that was not safe to walk around in after dark. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Inconvenient Location to everything"
I would not recommend this hotel due to inconvenient location, poor neighborhood quality. Upon arrival at 11:30pm my room door was ajar, notified hotel staff and no support to check the room was offered.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth it."
The hotel is at a nice location with various downtown locations and train stations nearby. However, the staff is not friendly. The breakfast is OK however on one day, they were out of butter. The staff was really unfriendly. When asked about whether tap water is drinkable they would not say yes or no. When asked for some milk for 1 year old baby, they […] would not give any although they have in their refrigirator for breakfast. It was late at night so was asking for just a favor. They could have charged some money. But they were totally non-cooperative. We had a non-smoking room but bathrooms smell like someone had just smoked. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"non smokers - beware"
They said I had a smoke free room. It wasn't - the smell was horrible. The paint was peeling, the sink facet wasn't secure. The free breakfast....the eggs were ok. DOn't go there unless you really can't afford to go anywhere else. I did not feel safe there at all.Genuine Expedia guest review
There were some cobwebs in corners of the room, and the neighborhood isn't the best. The hotel was, however, a five-minute walk from the Florida Ave, Metro stop (on the Red Line).Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Yes, the price is right. Yes, it is in walking distance of a Metro (which is very easy to manage). Yes, there is free parking. BUT: sketchy neighborhood (not recommended for families), free wi-fi is crap, dirty room, dirty sheets. Spend a little extra and choose a different hotel....Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was very noisy and adjacent to the main street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The previous comments we reviewed before booking this hotel were for the most part true. It could have been cleaner but was a value compared to other hotel prices. We did get a room further back from the street that helped with the noise. We called the hotel very lost in DC one night and the gal that answered patiently helped us for at least 20 minutes. […] She was marvelous. I doubt you would get that patience from a bigger expensive place. We had no problem with taking the Metro and thought other negatives were unwarranted. Good service and nice staff, but we got stuck in a smoking room. We stunk the next day, so did everything that was in the room with us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel itself is a very good value for the price, but it's a little hard to get to while the nearby road is under construction. If you are driving, it's fine, but if you're taking the Metro, be prepared for a 10-15 minute walk including a steep hill. Over the course of my 3-day stay, the temperature fluctuated by about 40 degrees, but the room was […] comfortable at all times anyway (both AC and heat worked well). "Too Noisy to sleep"
The hotel is what you would expect from a Quality in a so-so enighborhood of DC. The room was normal, fairly clean, The bed wasn't the best i've slept on, the pillows were small but it was what it was for the price. However the noise level was such that it was almost impossible to sleep. (one night I didn't sleep more than an hour, and one about 3). […] I was near the ice machines so the constant people outside plus the traffic noise from the road sounded like they were in the room with me. Plumbing noises as well. Perhaps the rooms farthest from the road ar a bit better but it's not worth the risk. The metro isn't that close to this hotel either. "Quality Inn, Wash D.C.-Ironing Board but no Iron"
I had a very late check-in close to midnight and appreciated that hotels.com put a note in my reservations to guarantee that I would have a non-smoking room. The front desk personnel were polite and they were behind bullet-proof glass as other reviewers mentioned. I noticed that gas stations and other businesses close by had the same set-up of bullet-proof […] glass so I was not too shocked. Just use caution and common sense anywhere you go and you should be fine. In case you are wondering, I am a female on a business trip and did not feel scared during my stay. It was an extremely cold winter's night and the heater was on when I arrived which made the room very warm and cozy. The bed was comfortable with clean sheets. The furniture looked old-style and the carpeting had a somewhat worn out condition. Definitely wear slippers or socks! I can usually overlook that kind of thing since I am on a budget but if you are looking for something more fancy, this is not the place for you. The towels were clean and there was the usual soap, shampoos, and lotions provided free of charge. The bathroom had a tub and toilet only. The sink, mirror, coffee pot, and hair dryer were located on the outside of the bathroom. Water pressure and heating/ cooling elements were fine for the shower. I liked that there was a small refrigerator and microwave to store and heat the food I brought with me. The microwave had an old style turn knob rather than the digital kind but was easy to use (make sure it is plugged in first). The t.v. was o.k. but I only watched the weather forecast. My major complaint was that there was a huge ironing board but no iron anywhere in the room. I put my clothing in a nice suit bag and they were not too wrinkled but it would have been nice to do a quick touch-up ironing of at least the shirt. I did not complain since I didn't have much time so I used the heat from the hair dryer on the front of the shirt and it looked good. The hotel is excellent given the price, which is less than a quarter of what some hotels charge just two miles away. "Quality Inn - northeast Washington DC"
Hotels.com was the best part of this experience - accurate, efficient and helpful (including the email reminder). The reception clerk was friendly and helpful with providing a telephone book through the security window. The hotel entrance did have an accessible computer with internet access. I had come to visit the Capitol Building and the Whitehouse […] - which do not allow luggage. I found the hotel after long walk in the rain through a rundown neighborhood away from everything with some abandoned and boarded up houses and an intimidating empty warehouse district, no restaurants in sight, service counter with a sign notifying that check in is not before 2 pm and checkout is before 11 am - and they will not accommodate luggage storage outside these times, the swimming pool closes in August even though it was very hot and humid here at the end of September, the breakfast was only cold food and cheap, I found 2 cockroaches on my shower curtain and homeless people all night outside my door and at the ice machine. I have found better quality and more convenient accomodations elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Room key worked 50%. WiFi worked 5% of the time."

"A great trip but not so good hotel"
When I first arrived at the quality hotel I was approached by a very nice receptionist who was warm and welcoming. It was a good start to a vacation in a country I was unfamiliar with. I did not have such a good experience with the other reception workers. One of which gave me the wrong directions and another was unfamiliar with the tourist attractions. After […] checking in I went to my room and unpacked and opened the internet which was free to occupants. However, I discovered my internet connection was down. After reporting the bad internet connection and being in contact with the internet provider I discovered my connection was very very low and often times would not upload a webpage. This was very frustrating to me as I was in Washington for a research conference and needed the internet to prepare. I also found a few bugs in my hotel room which made me very uncomfortable. Except for the close distance to the city highlights the whole stay was a nightmare. The room's carpet was soaking wet when we arrived and the whole room stank as if a cat had peed in every corner. This hotel was fairly priced for the quality of the room, but it is in a very unsafe area. The parking lot is very well lit, but very crowded.
