I've stayed at this hotel several times and usually enjoy my stay. My first night I was woken up at 5:30 am by a barking dog. I thought it was outside my room but he was actually in the room next door. 40 minutes later, the dog starated barking again and I could hear him scratching the door. I immediately went to the front desk and the employee called […] the room. Long story short, the dog's owner was properly charged for leaving their dog unattended in the room. Also, the first night, I thought I had a herd of elephants staying in the room above me and I could hear conversations coming from the room next to me. Since I was staying 4 nights, I asked the next morning if there was a quieter room available. The front desk guy switched me to a 3rd floor room and the rest of my stay was heavenly. My advice would be to try and stay at this hotel during the off season, as they increase their rates dramatically for the summer, but so does nearly every other hotel near the Park. The complimentary breakfast is okay...muffins, toast, juice, coffee, cereal, bagels, oatmeal and fresh fruit, like apples. The staff is great, very helpful, and the rooms are in good condition with comfortable beds. The hotel is also right across the street from the post office and the only grocery store in town. Checked in at 4pm. All was well until a group of teens and their "chaperones" checked in at 10 pm. 4 calls to the manager and 90 minutes of noise hell finally got us moved to another section of the hotel. Thin walls and ceilings. Poor soundproofing. Not a good experience and poor response by the manager on duty.

If you have low expectations this motel will exceed them with ease. It is a simple, inexpensive motel, conveniently located in Gardiner. Nothing about the motel is special, its just "a Motel" and nothing more. But for the price, its a good value. Bonus points for the very dated but in excellent condition room decor. We enjoyed our stay in Super 8. It was just minutes away from the north entrance, right next to the post office, restaurants, and grocery stores. We saw deer walking in the hotel's parking lot in the evening. Trevor at the front desk did an exceptional job at getting us a refrigerator and a microwave since we had food with us that could have spoiled. […] Room was very clean and comfortable, nice mountain view out of the windows. OK Super 8, but not even great for a super 8. We paid twice as much for a cheesy room in the basement as our friends paid for a cabin right in Yellowstone. The only reason to stay there is if you are late in planning, like I was, and there is nothing else available.

Super 8 isn't always a guarantee of quality but Gardiner's Super 8 is worth a stay. Very friendly service, nice clean rooms with good heating (very important when it's freezing cold outside) and excellent rates, at least when you choose not to travel in high season.

Very close to the park, food market across the street. Diner very close were you can eat a nice Buffalo burger. 'Breakfast room' was very small, almost no place to sit. But who cares, you are not there to have a fancy breakfast, you are there for Yellowstone!
