"Not worth the money spent!"
It was a spur of the moment trip....would not recommend this to anyone...actually told people not to go there!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better then the Days Inn by FAR"
Comfy rooms, a desk to get my work done, and the breakfast isn't 5 star by any means, but its decent frozen waffles yogurt and cereal. Definitely worth the 5 extra dollars to stay here next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Building did not seem secure. Both entrances were not keyed and appeared to be open all night. No one at desk when we arrived. Sign said "dial 0" and then someone came. I would NOT have been comfortable with this level of security if I were traveling alone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff were very helpful and knew the area well, The rooms were clean and comfy and what we expected for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Because the room was not well maintained I left two days early.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get What you pay for"
This is just a basic, simple hotel. No frills. A place to sleep, shower and go to the bathroom. If your expecting more, you will be disappointed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Dirty Hotel"
This hotel was nothing special at all. It is actually one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. I have stayed in many Super 8 Hotels, but this one was very dirty.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Shame on Super 8 for allowing this dive to exist!"
I always have enjoyed the Super 8 brand. However this dump did the name no good at all. The appearance of the place was very poor. The beds were just terrible. It was like sleeping on a matress some one had pulled out of a dumpster. What they had the nerve to call breakfast, was nothing more than some some generic pastries of lower quality than Little […] Debbie treats. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! However don;t think it is the same at all Super 8 branches because later in my two week trip I stayed at a stellar Super 8. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good place to relax"
The room was very roomy and the hotel, for the most part, quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Average at best"
It was just me and I was out most of the time, however, I would not bring my family to this hotel. The linens were old, the towels were old and some stained. OK for business but not for a family outing. On a positive note, the room had a microwave and a fridge.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Super 8 is owned by different owners, the Super 8 in Elkhart, Indiana would not work with me, after I or them made a mistake on the phone about dates of my stay. They would not compromise with me and made me pay again for two nights that I had already had paid for. I went to another and stay there. It put a hardship on by expenses.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean and friendly place to stay. Reasonable ratesGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"My son was broke."
My son was traveling on I 80 with no money to spare. I reserved a room for him with my credit card. But then he had to pay a 50.00 deposit. no dinner for him that night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a convenient location when enjoying a weekend of Football at Notre Dame. The location is 1/2 mile from the exit and only 20 miles from the stadium. Numerous restaurants are in the area depending on your appetite. This IS NOT my choice for a travel destination except as a place to sleep. I will check out similar establishments in 2 years when […] Navy , hopefully will kick That Irish Lephrecan's butt . Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This motel had some problems. The rooms were small yet it was clean. We had to let the management know that the microwave was broken so we would not be held responsible for it being broken. If we needed anything it felt like we were bothering her and when we did get help it seems like it took forever.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
They ran out of coffee one day, milk the next day. TV remote controls did not work. key cards had to be reprogrammed daily.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to food and shopping"
was OK. cheapest place to stay for a football game(UofND).would try somewhere else next time. not too pleased not recommendedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Kind of what we expected..."
Service was very good and breakfast was better than expected. Room was muggy and in need of repairs. Kind of what we expected for the first ND football weekend of the season. All in all, it was okay...close to South Bend and not too expensive...not sure we'd recommend it though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"do not stay here"
09/03/14 blueharley Mason City, Iowa
This place was cheap and we got what we paid for. Toilet did not work properly. Shower drain was so slow you stood in inches of icky water. hallways were dingy, dark and not clean at all. Curtains were a joke. When you shut off the light it was still light in the room. Room was very small. Walls were paper thin. You could hear conversations in the next room. Wifi did not work. I asked for compensation upon checkout and the manager had to ok it but was not there. I tried numerous times to call the manager but he/she was never there. I emailed the manager about our issues but never received a response. Very sorry to have stayed there and do NOT recommend it.
"Stayed in better and worse"

I stayed this past night and don't have to many complaints. Upon checking in it took forever to get someone to the counter to help me. Had to dial 0 on the phone but no one answered. Finally the clerk came up. Felt like I was inconveniencing her to have to check me in. No complaints with the room. It was clean and everything was acceptable. Selection for breakfast was what I expected, however it would have been nice if someone would have come in to restock. Had to eat cereal with a fork. I was in there for around 20 minutes and not one time did someone come in and check. I would probably stay here again if the price is right.

The hotel was dated, the room was cluttered with furniture, the receptionist would not answer the phone, nobody was there and internet connectivity was extremely difficult. The staff wanted me to bring my laptop to look at it and indicated that maybe it was my computer even though my computer did not have any problems before on previous hotels nor after. Towels looked like had not been washed, looked dirty.

We stayed at some very nice Super 8 hotels on our trip, but this was NOT one. I read many of the evaluations and can't believe others stayed at the same hotel. All I can imagine is every room is different. Our room was terrible! Our toilet did not work! It was dirty to begin with and probably because it would not flush. The towels, floor, tub - all - did not look clean. I was afraid to touch light switches. The room did not smell clean! Positive: The TV was nice. The bed sheets looked clean. We won't be back!

"good price, good location"

We stayed here on our way to New York and it was right off the interstate. The room was clean, the staff were nice, and the price was right. They have indoor hallways, but the vending machine wasn't working.

The two nights we stayed were very quite. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very adequate and eating area was clean. The location was great, we were able to visit most landmarks within our area with ease. Lots of restaurants within a few minutes to choose from. The price we paid for the two nights was very reasonable. I would recommend this to my family and friends.

Small room with distinct smoking odor. Lots of hallway noise from children at play. Inexpensive but probably wouldn't stay again.
"Very good for the price."

I stayed here for business purposes, and the bed was very comfortable, the room A/C certainly kept it cool. :) The wifi was strong. It was clean enough for me.. though there was a light that didn't work, and a stain on the comforter.. (which I tossed on the floor anyway). There was a Micro/fridge which I really appreciated. Large flat screen TV and a good channel line up. The check in was smooth and the desk clerk was very personable and pleasant. I skipped breakfast, and chose to go to Cracker Barrel instead. I have stayed at hotels for the double the price and received the same service.
"A cheaper alternative to Shipshewana."
07/15/14 David W Milwaukee, Wisconsin
I wanted to spend 4 days in Shipshewana (Amish country--big flea market and auction), but discovered very quickly that the price difference was SIGNIFICANT--it was $40 more per night MORE at Shipshewana. So, being the frugal person that I am, I chose Elkhart over Shipshewana, and I traveled the 24 or so miles back and forth each day, enjoying the country scenery as I rode along. The downside was that the one way trip took about 35-40 minutes, and the gas consumed. However, I consider it still a far better deal at $40 a night cheaper--which comes out to $160 difference. The closer you get to Shipshewana, the more caution you must have in spotting and passing the horse drawn buggies of the Amish. The hotel was fairly quiet. I was at the end of the hall near the exit, and I heard the exit door and room doors slam a few times, but it didn't bother me too much. The breakfast was pretty much the usual for a Super 8--not bad. I must tell you, though, that if they have round looking things in the refrig that look like sugar cookies--they aren't. I spied them and thought they looked pretty good, and thought a refrigerated sugar cookie wood be a nice dessert.........but it turned out they were perfectly formed round fried scrambled eggs--you are supposed to put them in the microwave to heat them up. Once I figured it out, it was pretty tasty. My only problem was that during my first night the floor lamp light went out. I discovered that the top portion of the wall socket was dead; the bottom portion, which had the refrig plugged into it worked ok. I told the front desk about it; it was put on the list of things for the fix it guy to fix. I just happened to have an extension cord with me (I travel with it and a small clip on lamp which I sometimes need for extra light while using my lap top computer), and plugged in the floor lamp using a good socket from the other side of the room. I found the internet connections (WiFi) to kind of fade out--I would have to reconnect sometimes. However, over all, I found it to be a fairly good hotel,
