Understated homely comfort. Small, but well appointed rooms, some with great views. Nice pool area. Staff couldn't be nicer. The restaurant is old school Hollywood glamour - dark, moody, and ritzy and with excellent service. Great location right on Sunset Blvd. - fancy restaurants and clubs within waking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Unikt hotel i West Hollywood"
Genuine Expedia guest review
"Must stay here!"
Sunset Tower is a gem! The quality and service is unmatched compared to other hotels in the vicinity. I love staying here and dining poolside. Angel is the best ever! He always provides the best service to us.
"Great, classic hotel in WeHo"

My husband and I wanted to stay somewhere central and "classic" in West Hollywood for the first few days of our honeymoon. The Sunset Tower Junior Suite on the 14th Floor had a great view of West Hollywood and the Downtown LA skyline. The bathroom was spacious and well appointed - we liked the separate shower and 2 person deep soaker tub and the Kiehl's products. The bed was large and comfortable and the suite was large enough for all our luggage. We loved the location despite LA being very sprawled out and car oriented. There are a few good restaurants nearby, which was awesome. The hotel had a classic hollywood feel with a lovely ambient lobby, which we were looking for. My only negative was the service staff at the Terrace Bar, so rude and inattentive in the afternoon (they ignored us completely). We were so turned off we cancelled our dinner reservation for the same night and did not return to the pool for the rest of our stay. The bell hops were friendly and attentive which made up for the inattentive bar staff.

This hotel has been on our radar for a while so when the opportunity presented itself for a stay, we booked a junior suite and took it all in. The hotel has a small intimate feel. The suite we had was tight but nice. We got lucky with our placement on a high floor with full Los Angeles basin views from downtown to Santa Monica from several windows, including a floor to ceiling curved window in the bedroom. The suite had a living room area that was close to being closed off to the bedroom. Both rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable but not very large. A disappointment for us was that both our bags had to remain in view in the suite as the armoire/closet was too small, and storage space was also limited. The limestone bathroom was, however, spacious with a large separate shower with window, yes window, and a very deep soaking tub. Special amenities included candles set up for a romantic bath, heavenly smelling cut soap, plus freshly baked cookies with turn down service. We enjoyed the complimentary continental breakfast in The Terrace restaurant which has a very stylish look inside, and opens out to a pretty terrace area overlooking the pool. The basics were offered up including outstanding freshly squeezed orange juice. The hotel has a second dining option, The Tower Bar which has a clubby dark paneled décor. In fact a men’s club look runs throughout the hotel which we liked, but may not be to everyone’s taste as it is dark. The pool setting, while attractive, was a little underwhelming, especially for sunny Los Angeles. The pool is small and was not very warm. The view while standing is very nice, but when you are lounging, the view is of a wall that surrounds three sides of the pool. You also need to pass through the side of The Terrace restaurant to access the pool which is not ideal. The gym is nice but small, and we did not use the spa. The staff at the hotel overall was very friendly, especial the valets. The location of the hotel is great by LA standards. You can walk to the action and restaurants of the Sunset Plaza area, and West Hollywood is a good central location. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but it seems not as much as other reviewers. The hotel does have a great Hollywood history, but it also had some limitations. It is worth checking out, especially if you can stay in a room like a junior suite.
"Another visit to my home away from home...."

Sorry to bore all of you readers with yet another glowing review of my favorite place on the planet - but I must. If you read my first review of the Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, you know how often I am there and you know how much I adore it. Well 2 weeks ago, I took my Mom with me for her birthday week. I truly don't know how to adequately my pals at the hotel -- my family really - starting with TIM CUNNINGHAM, Hotel Ambassador. It was truly the most amazing heavenly experience for my Mom. Whether is was poolside all day being treated exquisitely by JAMES AND ANGEL and everyone out at The Terrace and pool (Orlando, Kyla, Soleana, Marvin, Daniel, Felix), or breakfast each morning out there at our favorite table which they always had reserved for us.....or our daily sundown cocktails....all of it was just so lovely to be treated so kindly, with such personal care. So, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Sunset Tower. Their kindness goes so incredibly far, and with their crazy schedule and catering to the stars, they really did make the BIGGEST difference to my adorable Mom. And to me.
"Classy little hotel"

Well located, classic building, exceptional staff and service. Great restaurants .exceptional value. My wife and I had 3 nights here. The suite was quiet and very comfortable, we rated the bed the most comfortable since we left home 5 weeks ago. The friendly staff and very efficient valet parking service made coming and going a breeze. Well done everyone. Highly recommended.

We have stayed at the Sunset Tower Hotel on two occasions and are already planning another visit there. The Hotel is beautiful and exquisitely maintained with class and comfort. Our room was immaculate with awesome windows that provide a fun view of LA. The front desk, valet staff and restaurant staff made us feel welcomed and helped us with friendly, thoughtful service. The pool and outdoor Terrace area are so relaxing and beautiful you leave feeling happy. Staying at the hotel is a unique experience, it is like visiting someone in their home. We especially enjoyed learning about the history of this Hollywood landmark!
"Didn't want to leave"
From check in to check out we felt welcomed and relaxed. This is a very classy hotel and oozes charm and history. All the attention to detail makes it that extra special, like the home baked cookies at turn down. We had drinks at The Terrace and dinner in The Tower Bar, both really excellent. Front desk staff a little snooty but Dimitri, the valet team, bellman, wait staff and housekeeping all make up for that. Come on front desk, smile a little :)

We arrived in Los Angeles on September 27 and had a very nice evening at this comfortable and hospitable hotel. Not far from major Hollywood attractions and great eating venues. Had wonderful night. Good place to start your visit to California
"Best LA lunch and hotel staff!"
10/23/14 Steven S San Francisco, California
I am writing to give special recognition to Chef Marvin, whose chicken paillard is the finest non-glutten, no carb lunch in LA. And as always, I would like to thank Rolando, Angel and James on the Terrace, and Tim Cunningham, Patrick and Doyle for always making me feel so welcome. I look forward to seeing you all this weekend!
"A truly lovely stay"

I stayed at Sunset Towers for a couple of nights in October and it was just perfect really. Its a gorgeous, boutique hotel, with just the right amount of care and attention without being over the top. The loveliest staff ever that I have ever met in all my travels. A huge special mention to Tim Cunningham for being incredibly kind and accommodating. He followed up prior to my arrival, arranged an airport pick up. My flight was getting in super early in the morning and though check in time wasn't till 3pm, he was kind enough to get me into a room pretty much straight away and upgraded my room as well! It was exactly what I needed after a 15 hour flight from Australia. Everything was easy, really lovely experience and I will definitely return :)
