I was so pleasantly welcomed by the staff at check-in. The room was beautifully decorated and had all the ammenities to make for a lovely stay. Breakfast was delicious and the sun room where it is located was just splendid. Overall the experience was terrific and the price was quite a bargain for what was expected.

The management is very professional and welcoming. The rooms supply all your needs, fridge, aircon, microwave, plasma t.v. Updated bathroom. Could use better lighting in bathroom for mirror. Pool kept nice and clean. My room was on the ground floor near the office and the maintenance closet so it was a little noisy but overall it is quiet. Is a short walk to the boardwalk. We never used our car. This was the second time we were there. It's like a Hyundai. You can't beat the price for what you get.
"comfortable faded glory"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
It was a pleasant stay, and not bad for the money. (Given, of course, that the dollar is fast becoming worthless, and so prices for everything are wildly inflated.) This place must have been pretty nice twenty years ago. Now the signs of wear are evident everywhere... the carpet is worn and a bit ratty, the porcelain was chipped and stained in the sink, and everything seemed just... tired. Still, it was comfortable and clean, and I'd stay there again unless I found a better deal nearby.

"Breakfast"
The morning breakfast was aweful. The oatmeal was watered down. The space was to small folks were tripping over each other. The staff all came out and got their breakfast instead of watching when to refill items. The selection was poor. Yuk!
"Renaissance Inn - South San Jose"
Great location without having to be downtown. Restaurant quality breakfast. Comfortable and good sized rooms.
"Residence Inn by Marriott in San Jose, CA"
Our experience was shockingly better than expected! Great little area - everything was clean and the staff seemed to really care about our stay. Unexpected perk - the kitchen listed is a full kitchen - not a make shift kitchenette... supplied pots pans plates glasses and everything... even a dishwasher! Too bad we didn't stay longer and really make […] use of the amenities offered. Best Marriott experience I think I've ever had. There was a little dog area for our pets. You felt safe in the surrounding area, grocery store and restaurants located across the street. It is located a block off the freeway and never heard the freeway. OH and I almost forgot... the hotel even has an activities calender on the fridge with activities going on in the area - so if you don't know what to do look at the calendar! There was a Jazz festival going on when we were there. Read more
