"This hotel needs a renovation indeed."
Stayed for 5 days as business trip. The first two days were ok until the third day a/c was down, don't want to change room because it was already mid night but it took ONE hour for a fan to send to room. End up changed to different room for the next day. Breakfast is only selling point in this hotel.

"Bowling Trip."
Our stay was good , my wife and I spent very little time at the hotel other than to sleep. My only issue is the carpet in the hallways which desperately needs replacing .

"OK but..."
The room was supposed to be non-smoking but it had a very strong smell of stale tobacco. This room was very dated - no fridge, no safe and no flat screen TV.

"Our mini vacation in Edmonton"
We had visited Edmonton to attend a concert and stayed overnight at this hotel . The room was clean and surprisingly large and having a bonus microwave oven and mini fridge was a bonus, as it wasn't published on the hotel web site .The free breakfast buffet was great and there was ample parking in the hotel lot .Overall , we found the staff to be friendly .

The staff were all very friendly! The room was supposed to come with a fridge and microwave, when I arrived it didn't have either. The ice machine was broken(when I asked the front desk they got my ice from the restaurant). The room service food was mediocre, and the continental breakfast as well.

"Sub-par at best."
The hotel was right near the venue for a wedding we attended, which is why we chose it, but I regret the decision. The room was clean and tidy, however it was in need of a few repairs (cracks in the ceilings, etc) and some updating. There were no available power outlets by the bed side, the lighting was so dim once the sun went down, and the air conditioning didn't work (they were running, but our room remained a constant 27 degrees celcius). The hallways were filthy with stained carpets and no ice machines to speak of. I've slept in hostels that were cleaner and nicer than this hotel. In short, there's a best western on Kingsway close to this hotel where we had friends staying and it was much nicer and had proper air conditioning. Do yourself a favour and book a stay there if you need to be in this area of the city.

"Reception wanted to charge me about $50 more"
I booked the room for $222, but their Reception wanted to charge me about $270,I showed them my confirmation email from "HOTELS.com". she told me that you haven not booked it directly and you can call the Expedia later!she didn't understand that it is not Expedia! any way she told you can cancel the room! How ridicules it is,at 10:00 pm with family and no hotel room! anyway after lots of discussions they accepted $222. anyway, their behaviour with customer was awful., this is the last time that I will stay there. P.S. I request "hotels.com" to investigate why they wanted to charge me more...

"Never again."
This hotel has deteriorated to the point we will no longer book here. We were charged a damage deposit upon registering in addition to room fee. Looking at existing guests it was evident why they might need to charge a damage deposit. I was a bit uncomfortable coming in that evening. Room furniture was in big need of replacing and hallway smelt like urine.

"Good help from front desk staff, no major concerns"
front desk was very helpful when I had first arrived as when I had first arrived into my room I realized there was no fridge or microwave which, when I had booked online, it had indicated room would have this. I phoned down and they were happy to accommodate me, they told me to come down to front desk and they switched me to another room with little hassle. The one problem I did have was the pillows in the rooms, they were massive, way too thick for my liking! The only other problem I found with this hotel is the gym had very little for strength training variety. i think with some more equipment and a bit of renovations it does have good potential.

"Not bad"
The staff was really nice but the hotel needs a renovation. Rooms were ok. Breakfast times aren't the best they could at least go till 10 but it was over at 9:30. The breakfast food wasn't the best either.

"Not as good as expected......"
Was disappointed, stayed last March and was great, but this time we were in the east side tower and the room carpet was dirty and the room was older and the bed not as good as last time. Not sure if we would come back.

"Horrible Experience"
Horrible experience,were put in room with no ac.phoned front desk and were told it was been fixed.After 3 hours and three phone calls,nothing was done so we checked out.Talked to manager and he gave our money back.Very unfriendly front desk staff.Will never book in there again.

"Had to change room Air Condtioner did not work"
The first room we were in was so hot and the air conditioner did not work so we called for a fan and a gentleman was sent in to fix. This was about 10:30 at night as we arrived later in the evening. He worked on air conditioner and could not get it working so they moved us to another room about 11. He tried hard and could not fix. In second room we were waiting for new keys and had to call desk about 11:06 and say it is very late we are going to bed. They brought keys up immediately. Maintenance fellow did his best, they moved us as soon as known could not fix. He apologised. Next day on check out nothing was mentioned nothing was offered for inconvenience and that may have been because we used our points to book. Check in and out was quick.

THe hotel its huge in a good location in edmonton but it is getting real old. \ the carpets were ditty in my room, they need to change them out and also it said there was a fridge in the hotel description but there wasn't . no big deal. Compared to the ramda's in small towns and other plalces, this big ramada in edmonton falls short. IT needs renos soon

"Hotel in need of a major update."
This hotel although very clean and the food in restaurant is very good, is in need of major update. The carpets are old & stained the TV in our room didn't work and was very old. The hotel looks the same as it did in the 90's I am sure. The room service was terrible ( food was good) we actually when down and brought the food to our room. Still charged price of room service

"Unhelpful staff, mix up with reservation"
Mixed up our reservation so we no longer had a suite but a smoking room & with 3 young children this wasn't acceptable. Receptionist unhelpful, rude & confrontational. Luckily another person was able to help a little. Not a good experience. Choose a different hotel!!!

"Glad they are renovating, it's necessary"
Our overall experience was okay. The hotel itself is very old and run down. The carpets are in serious need of replacement. You shouldn't feel the need to keep your shoes on because your socks will become filthy. The hallway carpets are simply discusting. There were areas in our room where the wallpaper was coming off. There were some nasty areas that needed some cleaning attention. The staff however are very lovely and kind. The downstairs area is neat with the glass ceiling and interesting lounge area. When we brought the lack of cleanliness to the attention of the manager she was actually interested to listen to what we said and try to make us feel better about the situation. It was explained to us that they are renovating, the building beside us was completely renovated but not yet open. When that part opens things will be better. In the meantime, yuck.

"Great location - very disappointing experience."
Our check-in was a bust because the the front desk staff could not answer any of our questions about the neighbourhood. Then, our first room was 30 degrees when we checked in. We called the front desk and they sent up a repairman, who phoned them back and told them to move us. Our second room had a comfortable temperature but a carpet so old and stained we were afraid take off our socks. The hostess in the breakfast room was very friendly and nice and that helped balance our negative experience. This was once a fabulous hotel, it badly needs some TLC, and some intensive training for staff.

It was alright. The room wasn't exceptionally clean (noticeable dark spots on the floor), and it's clear the place hasn't been updated in a whole. The TV was nice, but in order to use any of the inputs, we had to disconnect this box attached to the back, likely designed to coerce customers into buying their premium TV services. Altogether, an alright stay, for an alright price.

"Good rates for a sprawling hotel/convention centre"
First note: This hotel is supposed to be undergoing significant renovations in the next year and a bit, so please understand that while I've rated the "room comfort" & "Hotel Condition" only 3/5, both should be much better in the future. For now, however, if you can get the East Tower, that should be better than the North Tower. Be advised, the beds in this hotel are kind of hard if my own experience and others I knew who stayed in other rooms' experience is any indication. The staff were very friendly, particularly the restaurant staff, and I had a great front desk person upon check in. The breakfast buffet is included with MOST (but not all) stays, so check the details of your reservation, particularly if you are booking as part of a group room block or with a third party. (NOTE: My booking with Hotels.Ca DID include breakfast.) Lots of parking, a big shopping mall (Kingsway) is close by and there is a supermarket (Superstore) within walking distance and a Canadian Tire right across the street. Access to the hotel is easy via the Yellowhead or Kingsway Ave. Plenty of free parking available.

"It was a great weekend"
The room was pretty awesome with a balcony, TV, and a big bathroom which was nice. We were happily surprised to have a minifridge and microwave as well, it was nice to have during our stay. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the only issues I ever had were in their restaurant. We had issues with our room keys but it was our fault, they demagnetized but they fixed the keys right away. Overall it was a great experience and I would stay here again.
