The Sunset Inn was close to the track which was most important to me. The room itself was clean and it was close to the highway (I-85). There was no... resturant on premises but food was only a few steps way The Concord Mills Outlet Mall was just a few miles down the road as well. There were more "brand name" eateries there. If you are looking for a cheap hotel JUST to sleep in and put your stuff, then this does the job. If you are looking for an actual nice place to stay, run away. The staff was very unprofessional. The room was pretty gross. I ran right to Walmart to get cleaning supplies. But, there are worse places.

I walked in to check in the odor about knocked me down desk a mess with business cards etc. Sanitation grade B score 80, room was filthy certain areas were not cleaned. It was so bad had to call a customer service Rep.of Hotels.com

The bathroom was disgusting. There was a hole in the wall and someone had written "Hide your crack here" with magic marker on the wall. There was also a hole in the mattress. This was the scariest place I have ever been to. We checked in and were terrified trying to get to the room. The lock had been removed from the door. Lighting was horrible. We immediately left and prayed to make it back to our vehicle safely. The pictures look nothing like this place.

The room was beyond dirty. Im glad we didnt bring our dogs they would have had to sleep in the car. Too nasty for them. Neighborhood is nothing but hood. walk anywhere and hope you dont get mugged or shot. NASTY

This room was absolutley the most discusting room I have ever stayed at. It was so bad, I went out and bought sheets to put on top of the comfortor...would not dare sleep on those sheets. The shower was dirty along with towels...etc. The people beside us had been bitten by bedbugs!! The hotel was horrible. Upon arrival I was disappointed with the hotel. The outside and inside of the room are eye sores. The rooms are filthy. I had to keep my socks on the entire time! There were holes in the wall. Holes on the lamps shades. The AC unit was so dusty and dirty, I'm sure I breathed in some toxins. The bathroom was gross. There was mildew […] and grim on the shower wall. There was hair and cigarette ashes in the soap dish. I'm convinced I was more dirty once I got out the shower than when I went in. There was no iron in the room. All the appliances in the room were in poor condition. The clothing rack in the bathroom and in the main room were hanging on by a nails. We were forced to stay in the hotel because all the surrounding hotels were sold out to an event going on. When we returned from one night, we found the ceiling leaking a steady stream on water from the room above. This continued for more than an hour. All our item that had been left on the counter underneath the leak were soaked and ruin, including our make-up and curling irons. Staff provided us with towel and sheets to amend the issue, only to have the white towels on the floor turn brown after soaking up water from the dirty floor. The manager would only refund 1 night from our stay, even though we voiced our disapproval of the hotel almost immediately upon arrival. I don't I sleep a wink of sleep either night, especially after seeing roaches crawling on the walls. Worst hotel experience ever. Read more
