The hotel was really nice and the breakfast was good too. They had a shuttle to take you to the metro station and a few yummy restaurants near by as well. The only complaint I have is that when there are events going on, you can hardly find a place to park.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel, Very Clean, Easy to get to Downtown"
I researched several hotels, reading each review carefully and finally deciding that this one seemed the best. I was very impressed with the following: The rooms were very clean, and the cleaning staff worked very hard to make sure our room was cleaned above expectations; the breakfast buffet was nice and changed daily (we stayed 6 days); the hotel […] is not far from the New Carrollton Train Station, and you can easily be downtown in less than half an hour; the gym and business room and overall look of the hotel are great; parking is plentiful. The only issues I had were: breakfast didnt have many healthy options (something to consider); the front desk night shift employees goof around too much and need to take their jobs more seriously; check-in was very long; and the shuttle bus driver needs to learn how to be courteous and on time - especially on the evenings. We waited 45 min for the shuttle, even after calling, and the young man who picked us up was neither apologetic - nor could care that we waited so long. Otherwise, I highly recommend this hotel Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The service was good, friendly people. The room was ok, the carpet was old with no padding. The front of the A/C unit fell off shortly after we arrived.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"cheap and convenient"
Visited D.C. for two days and found this to be gret for what we needed. Close to the metro and shuttle service to and from. Breakfast was ok...not that much variety but for the price adequate. Only issue we had was with the shuttle one evening we got in about two minutes after the scheduled shuttle from metro to hotel and they would not wait for us. […] I think a small exception could have been made to wait a minute or two at 10 pm to wait for a guest that was on the phone with you telling you that they were one stop away. Front desk just said sorry we cant wait..next shuttle will be in 30 minutes. We took a taxi and although its probably only a quarter of a mile drive it cost ten dollars. I have mixed feelings about how that situation was handled being in customer service but I can also understand that there has to be structure as well. Overall a good place to stay.. I would recommend it to friends. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to the metro station"
The room was clean and had everything we needed. The metro station is 15 minutes away but the hotel even provides a shuttle service. Within 45 minutes (when walking to the station) you're in the center of DC, and the hotel costs only a quarter of what you pay when you would stay in the center. I recommend this hotel to everyoneGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is very convenient to downtown Washington, D.C. There is a Metro stop nearby, which the hotel provides a free shuttle service to and from, and you can be downtown in less than 30 minutes. The hotel also has a shuttle bus, for a fee, to and from Fed Ex Field for Redskins games. My only complaint would be a very aggressive cleaning staff. I […] got a nasty note at 9 a.m. one morning telling me my room couldn't be cleaned because I had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. I thought that was a little early to be complaining. I eventually left and the room was cleaned. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not bad for the price..."
The good: friendly staff, free shuttle to the metro The bad: scratchy towels, no towel rack in the bathroom, shuttle driver SAID he waits for the metro if it is late, but he didn't. We had to take a taxi back when the metro was two minutes late! Wish the shuttle ran later for special events (ie Monday nifht football!)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Outdated and Dingy"
Great reviews and a 3.7 user star rating? Not even close. This is a 2 star hotel. The room was dingy, and the bed was uncomfortable and cheap. This hotel should not be even close to the same rating as the big name 3 & 4 star hotels. It wasn't bad (other than the nasty and old rug) but it is not near the ratings it gets. Here is an odd thing. The room […] entry light and the bathroom light are on automatic. They turn on full brightness when you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and then turn off on you when you are in the shower. Never have seen this anywhere in the world, and I travel a lot. If cheap rate is more important to you than plush, this hotel is fine. But know, this is a 2 star hotel, no more. "In a pinch.."
The lobby and bar are nice. The halls are nice. And then the room... Yuck! The floors, I'm not really sure how the health dept. ok's them. Bathroom needs a total remodel. Staff was OK.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Shabby and chic"
While hotel has a good location and decent breakfast and lobby is well appointed, the rooms don't have a real closet or storage and when we returned from being out all day at 4:45 our room still had not been made up. Marble sink counter was broken and shower control taped to the wall. Transportation to the Metro a real plus though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was clean,& has plenty so dinning choices within walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"On the decline!"
Not quite what I'm accustomed to for a 3STAR hotel.I've stayed before and this time the decline in quality is evident. I will not stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice room, I'd stay again"
The room was more spacious than I thought based on the pictures shown online. It was a very nice room and I would stay again. My only issues I had with the junior suite was the lack of lighting over the kitchenette area and there were hair balls on the floor (quick vaccuum..or not). I booked through a third party site and got an excellent rate for the […] room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The roominess and cleanliness were great; largest suite I ever rented. The only problem is the toilet is positioned so close to the shower door that I bumped it whenever I stood up. Some plumbing contractor was major drunk when he laid that piping.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient for Gameday"
This hotel is a little older but is a nice place to stay if your going to a Redskin game. A shuttle service is provided to and from the game so you don't have to fight with traffic. My only two complaints are the hot water only being lukewarm and the noisy construction being performed early in the morning while trying to sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Stayed here for the Giants game against the Redskins. Had a Jr. Suite. The room was clean, very nice, really enjoyed the whirlpool tub, it was super deep so you could actually submerge. It was nice and quite too, didn't hear anything the whole stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Metro Points Hotel-Washington North Dear Kyle: Thank you for choosing us for your lodging needs during this trip from NC. We hope to see you on every home game.
"Love the DC Metro"
Although we were quite a way from DC, the shuttle to the Metro gave us quick access to almost all DC sites. If you plan to be there for a week, I would suggest buying a week pass for the metro. It saves money, time and can also be used on the metro bus to places not in the city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"nice hotel for the price"
The spat tub in our room was to small for two people. The bathroom had water stains all along the ceiling. Windows and curtains. There were dips in the floor under the carpet. Nonetheless the hotel over all was a nice stay and pretty clean. We would return for the right priceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Metro"
Overall, we had a great stay here. The only concern was it took some time for the water to heat up so we ended up showering at night instead of in the morning. The room was exceptional and the breakfast was pretty good too. It was very convenient to have the free shuttle to the metro. Would definitely consider staying here again if we come back to visit […] the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quick getaway away from the kids"
$20 Extra charge for King bed, $10 charge for a microwave in the room, but couldn't put it in because maintenance wasn't on site. The room was decent and clean. The staff was friendly enough. Another guest with body odor permeated the lobby with her essence and it was quickly addressed. Location is very convenient and the price was reasonable. "Hotel on the come up at a great price"
Stay was great. Service was excellent. The hotel is going through a renovation that seems much needed. The hallways look amazing but in the rooms, you can easily tell the flooring and fixtures are low quality. The walls are thin and you can hear everything next door and outside (I frequently thought someone was trying to come in my room). The room was […] spacious but not well laid out. The bathroom is nice but a lot of wasted space where a closet could have been. The TV's are refurbished and low end with very poor picture quality. Even in the lobby/bar. They have a free full breakfast in the morning--not great but it is free and more than just bagels and juice. In the evening, the bar food is fine. I got the biggest plate of ribs I have ever seen at a restaurant. Location is okay with access to several fast food restaurants, Starbucks, grocery, etc. And although the metro is a mile away (15-20 min walk), a hotel shuttle leaves every 30 minutest to the metro. So, overall, if you don't mind being way out in New Carrollton, this hotel is an excellent deal and seems committed to improving. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"waitting for respond"
I am from Brasil and was coming into the US to visit family. Not sure if I would stay in the hotel on the arrival or when leaving, I booked a reservation for my arrival date. We decided to stay on the way back, instead so my uncle called them to cancel my reservation. They were to send an email confirming this. We have not received an email confirming […] cancelation, and have not been refunded the approximately $800 on my credit card. But they sent me an email asking for a review of my stay there, which never happened: I guess this is the way to get them to answer me. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Horrible Customers Service"
The hotel was nice, ive been there once before, but the night manager which was a female she was very rude and disrespectful. See assumed that we was going to have a party an told us that police was going to be called. In which we was there for the total opposite, and other people was complaining about her actions also I hope you all do somthing about […] it because alot of people were not pleased including me and will not be booking rooms there again...By the way The first room smelled like mildew, had broken cabinets, they gave us another room it was better but didnt have a refrigerator. To be honest I wish I had spent my money else where. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Firstly, when we checked in on our first night we couldn't get the room door open. I told the front desk and they said to push the door really hard cause the door gets stuck. The next day we went out and came back to the room...they was no towels in our room. From experience with other hotels when they clean the room they replace the towels one time. […] Secondly, when we were leaving to go out the doors wouldn't lock. We called for them to check it...we had to call twice after to ask them when someone is coming to fix it. When someone did come, he told us we would have to wait for him to fix it. I had to walk down to the front desk and change our room. We had to move everything into another room and we were late for our friend's wedding, the reason we went to Maryland. Came back to our room later that night and there wasn't any hot water. My husband and I really wasn't feeling to change rooms again so we just showered in cold water. The good about this hotel is free parking, complimentary breakfast and shuttle service to Metro station. WE WILL NOT STAY AT METRO POINTS AGAIN. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Decent amenities and service"
While we didnt take advantage if everything, we enjoyed what we did. Front desk staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. Loved the complimentary shuttle to the metro station and the driver was very prompt each time. Hotel was bustling but quiet when needed. Rooms were very nice with nice facilities and new and up-kept furniture. One problem we did […] have was maid service was there between 830 and 9 every morning which I felt was too early. The first night of our stay we didnt get in until 3am and wanted to sleep in and didnt think about do not disturb sign. We kindly asked them to return later to which they did. The next two days we left sign on door and were out of our room by 930am. They had already passed our room and never returned. We did not have any clean towels and had to go to front desk to get those. We would have reused towels but there was absolutely no where to hang them up at so we ended up putting them in the floor to be replaced. The vacuum was being used in the hall at 8am sharp. This woke us up every morning and the vacuum was banged into our door multiple times. Overall we had a great stay. The free breakfast, shuttle, wifi, parking is what made us choose this hotel.
