"Great choice!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Price and location were right. Grounds and maintainance inside and out were above average....flowers blooming everywhere! Front desk friendly and efficient. Room spacious and well appointed with 2 Q beds and new, big, flat screen TV (room 301). Towels were not lush, but there were 4 of them, so no issues!

"Good mid-price choice"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
This is a good choice if North Vancouver is your destination. Lots of shopping and eating in the market below the hotel, which is also where the parking is located. The more upscale and higher priced rooms get you further out towards the water, which can be worth it in terms of quiet and view.
"2 nights in Vancouver."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Hotel was very clean and new. Hotel is in middle of Chinatown so you won't see many chain restaurants or food other than very traditional Asian.

"Ramada Limited"
Close to light rail station, staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.
"Convenient but no view"
Overall, I enjoy staying in this hotel - the room was clean, the personnel very friendly, and the breakfast was good and available for a long period of time.Yet, my room had two small windows which "looked" on a very close wall (3 feet??). The overall feeling was of a basement, although I was on the second floor. I didn't mind too much, because I used […] my room almost exclusively for sleeping. Read more
"About what you would expect"
This hotel is in an old building in the heart of Vancouver. The room was very small- what you would expect in an old hotel in a big city. I was disappointed to not have a desk or table as I needed to do some work while there. The window only opened a crack and was frosted and I am guessing it opened into a shaft. The service from the desk to the breakfast […] was always very good. Breakfast- again, what you would expect simple and basic. I could see some people feeling unsafe in the neighborhood (at night) but I appreciated the access to inexpensive restaurants and the proximity to the airport train (2-3 blocks). If you plan to spend much time in the hotel, this is probably not the best choice but if you need an inexpensive base of operations that will meet your basic needs, this is it. Read more

This hotel is in a great area and for the price of the room, you are conveniently located near the gas town, china town and down town area and all these areas are walkable. "Great location, great price, nice enough place"
If you are looking for the nicest place in town, this is not it but if you are looking for affordable lodging in an almost ideal location for the Vancouver Convention Center and surrounding then this may be it. Neighborhood is not perfect but it is not bad either. This was a great value for downtown lodging in Vancouver.
"Great Value -- great proximity to everything"
This hotel was perfect for me. I was traveling for business and needed to be close to the convention center. I walked back and forth several times a day without any trouble. My room was not huge but it didn't matter since it was just me. Everything was very clean and the hotel staff was ultra-courteous and helpful. I would stay here again!

"OK for business but not vacation"
The rooms had musty carpets, rotting trims within the bathroom. However the front desk staff and the breakfast staff was pretty hospitable and made up for it.
"Ramada Limited Downtown in Vancouver BC"
Good hotel overall (and quiet) except for a safety issue (see below), very close to Gastown, movie and live theater, Chinatown, etc. Very nice and friendly service. Only problem we had was deadbolt did not close except by lifting up door. Then it took 5 minutes of grunting to open it again- good thing no fire! Continental breakfast okay and includes […] egg patties as only protein option. Also very expensive valet parking only- recommend spending the time driving around nearby and parking yourself as we did for our 2nd night! Don't get this Ramada confused with the other Ramada further south just off of the Granville Island bridge. This one is in a little bit better neighborhood. Read more
"Smallest hotel room I've stayed in"
This hotel is in a great location! Close to gastown, Chinatown, and shopping. The hotel overall was clean and well-maintained. This, however, does not make up for the size of the rooms. We were in a room with 2 double beds. There was barely any walking room and the window only opened a little bit. The window itself was "designed" so you could not see […] out of it. I felt uncomfortable and closed in for my entire stay. When I asked the front desk if they had any bigger rooms, they said I was in their largest. Yikes. If you dont mind feeling cramped or claustrophobic, this may work out for you. I will not be staying there again. Read more
"Great Location"
The hotel was at a very convenient location in relation to the Vancouver Convention Center, an easy ten minute walk. The hotel was clean and my bed was very comfortable.
"ramada limited- friendly and convenient"
All through the day the cleaning staff is working. They keep asking if our room needed to be clean everytime I walk out the door. I normally don't so I said its ok don't sorry about us. Breakfast was pretty good and generous. The front desk people were really nice, helpful, and descrptive. The valet guys were attentive too. The surrounding area can […] be a bit scary but really convenient to get around. We pretty much walked everywhere! You don't want to drive because parking sucks. So just take the hit for hotel parking. Unlimited access to ur car etc. Overall a wonderful hotel to stay at. Read more

"Unexpected haven in the heart of Gastown"
We stumbled upon this gem in the middle of gastown some years ago, on our first trip together to Vancouver. I wanted something close to gastown, he wanted something close to his family. We decided on this area, but hotels were limited to the extremely seedy to the extremely expensive. We took a chance on the Ramada and were pleasantly surprised. Clean […] rooms, big beds, some flat screens and recently (since our last visit) improved toiletries. Housekeeping is obnoxiously, without apology, loud in the hallway. Really inexcusable, but hey. A somewhat small price to pay, and they don't start until after 9. Maybe it's their way of saying we're lazy? Their housekeeping was, after all, perfectly lovely. Additionally, service generally here is fantastic, way above par for what we paid. Wifi is free (huzzah!), breakfast is included, and valet parking (well worth it so we can park and walk to all food/shopping) is $28/day. Thanks again, Ramada! Read more
"Good location"
Room small, but staff was very accomodating
"Ramada Limited Downtown- Great location"
The hotel is situated within walking distance of all downtown attractions and shopping. It is right next to Gastown and a 5 minute walk to Granville. Location is outstanding. room is very comfortable, although small. great Donair Kebab shops and pizza parlors right beside the hotel, great for a late snack after drinking on Granville. WARNING: If you […] want to go to Chinatown, AVOID HASTINGS STREET!!!! All of the homeless missions are on that road and the street is entirely populated with drug use, crazy people, thugs, and the homeless. While we didn't have any problems, it isn't a route I would ever repeat. There are zero tourists or sightseers and there is nothing to see, I would recommend taking Pender or a different street. "Ramada Limited in downtown Vancouver"
The Ramada Limited offered a great bargain price, fine service and convenient walking distance to everything we needed in downtown Vancouver. The rooms were quiet, despite the active night life in the area. We stayed there four nights during the winter holiday season. We kept our car with the valet, and had the option of driving when needed, but only […] used it once. About the only improvement I could suggest would be a better caliber breakfast (i.e. get some decent coffee and fresh-cooked oatmeal rather than instant, and add some variety, such as fried potatoes.) I hope to go there again! Read more

"Clean, old but renovated, great"
My wife and I were visiting our kids in Vancouver and we decided to stay here because of the great price. We were very appreciative of the cleanliness of the hotel. "Good value, but be aware of differing room sizes"
Great value for this hotel, but be aware that the rooms shown on the web site are of a larger size than you may be booked into. We arrived to find ourselves in a tiny, claustrophobic room. After one night we were moved to a regular sized room, which we enjoyed. Just a head's up for booking. It's an historic hotel, and has had a nice renovation done […] with updated surfaces and decor. Breakfast was included, and adds to the value. The location was very convenient for all downtown activities, but the neighborhood is right on the edge of a sketchy part of town. Valet parking cost $25. per day, but you have to park yourself after 11pm, which was a disadvantage for us as we went to a concert at the PNE, which put us late and the 2 block walk and self-park procedure was a bit of a hassle. There is a parking garage just across the street from the hotel which we plan on using next stay. It is cheaper and not much less convenient. Would recommend, and will be returning for our next stay due to convenient location, updated clean rooms, friendly helpful staff, and low price. Read more

"Precruise stay"
Used this hotel to stay overnight prior to getting on a cruise ship at the Canada Place cruise port. This hotel is old and rooms are very small, but it is maintained and clean. "Super Nice Staff - convenient location"
The staff were incredibly accomodating -- we had to get up so early for a bike ride that we would have missed the breakfast, so the staff made us up bag lunch style breakfasts to go! They also were pleasant and helpful. Mattress was mushy but otherwise we had a great stay.

"Did the trick"
Our stay was just fine. Double bed could have been Q or K for us. Seemed a little old. Breakfast was nice. Overall good.
"Ramada Limited Vancouver"
The hotel was convenient and the staff was very helpful. The room was somewhat small and cramped. The elevator did not work and there appeared no effort to have it fixed.
"ramada limited vancouver"
firts stay before the cruise-- elevator out and had to go 5 floors. they carries out bags up but we had to walk down and carry bags down when we left. I have arthritus in my knee and was not happy. Rooms a little smaller that we are used to with two kids. Hotel staff was nice and informative. Breakfast was great.

"Ramada Downtown Limited Vancouver - Excellent"
We chose this hotel for our one night stay in Vancouver for the location. Our party of five was staying in two separate rooms, and had booked separately. When we arrived, we were told a room was not available for one party, and that an alternate room was reserved at another hotel. Since we were traveling together and needed to head to the airport the […] next day, we asked if we could stay together. The desk staff arranged for both groups to be accommodated at the other hotel, provided transportation to the other hotel and to the airport, and comped the room. The best customer service I have ever experienced in all my years of travel. Read more
"Ramada Limited in Vancouver...Space is limited"
We were looking for a close (walking distance) hotel to the cruise terminal. It was advertised as being three blocks to Canada Place...more like six blocks. The room was extremely small. There was very little room to move around once luggage was put in the room. Our room had a blocked window which opened up to a brick wall. The breakfast was okay and […] welcome since most hotels in Vancouver do not offer breakfast. That was also very crowded in the basement (no windows) with little seating and lots of people. This hotel would be okay for a short overnight stay...any longer would be difficult. I saw many other reasonably priced hotels in the near vicinity. The neighborhood was okay and within easy walking distance of Gastown. Read more
"Ramada Inn Downtown Vancouver"
1) Hotel was clean and the staff was excellent and very helpful. 2) Hotel room and hallway smelled musty and old. 3) Breakfast was included and was good. 4) The location rated as a "5" - close to everything. "The hotel itself is fine, neighborhood is not"
The Ramada had decent rooms, and the included breakfast is a nice touch. I probably would not recommend this hotel based on the location. Every time we left the hotel there were homeless people screaming at cars in the street, and there were two policemen arresting someone right in front of the hotel one night when we came home. I never felt like we […] were in any kind of danger, but there are similarly priced hotels in nicer parts of the city. Read more

"Great Hotel with close access to all sights in Van"
Our accomadations were great and the breakfast was excellent . Access to resturants, bars and transportation was very good and in walking distance. The recommendations at the desk were also appreciated and accurate.
I thought the cost was a little high for the location but appreciated how clean the facilities were. The room was limited in size but the bed comfortable. Might recommend it to others. Hotel was located close to and somewhat near the questionable part of town.

"Clean and comfortable in Vancouver"
When we first arrived in late afternoon by foot from the bus drop off 6 blocks away, we were a bit put off by the neighborhood. The Ramada is ia couple blocks from the Gastown section of Vancouver in an area occupied with many small colleges. We soon learned that the area is quite safe, and very convenient to Gastown, Chinatown and especially to the […] Skytrain Harbor Terminal. The hotel itself is in a refurbished older building. Our room was very tiny and overlooked the surrounding rooftops. However, it was clean and comfortable and the price was right. The only thing I really missed was an in-room refridgerator. We are late sleepers, so we missed the free breakfast all but one morning. This was unfortunate because the breakfast was very ample and included hot and cold offerings. My only suggestion would be for the front desk staff to offer a different kind of map rather than the standard printed one. A map of inexpensive fast food, churches, post office, where to find the bus stops, etc. would be very helpful. My one complaint about Vancouver in general is that it is difficult to get clear, helpful information. For instance, all the bus maps say there is a shuttle in Stanley Park. In the rain, we took the bus to the designated stop right inside the park. We walked to where the map said the shuttle picked up. No shuttle! Then, in the rain, we walked some more to an "Information Booth." The woman inside seemed much more interested in selling coffee than giving information. She informed us that the Shuttle doesn't run in the Winter months (it was early April), and she didn't offer any alternatives outside of telling us it was another 15-20 minute walk to the totem poles. Thoroughly discouraged, we walked back to where the city bus had left us off and began looking for the stop in the opposite direction. There were no directions or obvious stops. We finally got a bus by walking into the street in front of the oncoming bus and flagging it down! A little more care of visi Read more
