The hotel from the outside looks pretty bad but the rooms are really nice. Poor customer service at the front desk

Used as a backdrop for countless films and TV shows, downtown Los Angeles is one of the world’s most recognized skylines. This area’s landmarks include the LA Convention Center, the Staples Center, and Dodger Stadium. Post-modern architecture takes center stage at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. Nearby, Chinatown and Little Tokyo lie east of City Hall.

"Exactly as one would expect for the price/location"
Overall, we were pleased with our stay. The hotel is in good condition, and the quality is on par with the price. The halls could be a little confusing to navigate - I think there must have been some additions, so better signs would've been helpful.

"Hotel"
The hotel was clean & roomy. It was very close to LA Live & that's what we wanted. Beds comfy& quiet hotel. Restaurant Seoul across the street was good too. Overall hotel was surprisingly nice because of the past reviews & location.
"Downtown LA."
Close to the staples center. The surrounding hood kind of seedy. You get what you pay for.
"GREAT LOCATION AND DECENT COMFORT"
If all you want is reasonable price, nice clean place to sleep with basic amenities like free basement parking, wifi, quality TV, in room coffee and close to LA downtown and convention center this is a good place to stay. Near Korea town and Korean restaurant across the street has great service and outstanding shabu shabu. Note to hotel management -- […] you need to add PBS channels to your cable offerings Read more

"Declining conditions at RAMADA Convention center"
Love the staff and service, but upkeep of hotel is declining. I was bitten by bedbugs on my last night there. Everything in the room was fixed in a slipshod way. Blankets had holes in it, safe batteries were sealed with tape, caught the room service lady peeing in my bathroom once when i unexpectedly came back to get somethIng from my room. Not what […] u would expect of a RAMADA. Read more
The guy at the front desk was not friendly at all. He made me signed a document that there was no air conditioning. Breakfast was not included even though Hotels.com said it was included. The internet was very slow, and one of the computers was out of service.
"Great experience but bring your own pillow"
Positives: Fridge & Microwave! Free parking! The Bed was comfy, but if you need a supportive pillow, bring your own. The Shower was superb, high pressure, lots of hot water. Nice new, large flat screen tv. I love the close in outdoor patios! Very nice staff. Korean BBQ next door. Good location is in the center of town to drive to museums, etc. Pretty […] easy walk to downtown (1 mile) Dont expect everything to look brand new. You can notice some wear and tear from the amount of traffic that has gone through the hotel, but it's a great value compared to the surrounding hotels. Read more
"Ramada Los Angeles"
I'm sorry, but this place is TERRIBLE! Yeah, you get what you pay for and the price was right, but the rooms were tiny and whoever owns this place is too cheap to overhaul the HVAC (only heat OR ac for the whole building!) If you can afford to go some place else, by all means GO!

"Can't believe I stayed there"
The room was very small, no place to move. It smelled bad, They definitely need carpet change and some bathroom renovation it is very old and dirty. The only one thing good was the jacuzzi in bathroom.

"Ramada Los Angeles ...a very nice hotel!!!"
The room was great except for the light bulbs, which were too dim for reading. However, when I called the desk a very polite maintenance man immediately showed up and changed a couple for me to a higher wattage. Everything else was great, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Family members stayed in an adjoining room and they also were very satisfied. […] We were in Los Angeles to attend the Rose Bowl Parade and Football game. The only bad thing was that Wisconsin lost to Oregon ....but the parade was marvelous!!! Our stay was for four nights. Read more
"Excellent choice for us"
This Ramada Inn was very convenient since it is close to where my son lives. The room was clean and comfortable - well designed for our needs. The only complaint I have is the poor condition of the bed covers (large hole in mine with insides coming out) and only one ice machine in the place so long walk to get ice. Other wise it was perfect for us and […] reasonably priced. Read more
"Our stay at Downtown LA in Ramada"
Whe the hotel staff was friendly and helpful I was not. Wry impressed with the quality and comfort of the hotel furniture. The chairs had torn cushions. The plumbing was old and toilet would flush in multiple attempts. The parking lot in the main building was very congested and compact. We stayed with kids and found the beds too small.

"This is a Ramada?!?"
I thought Ramada was one of the more upscale hotels. I guess I was wrong. It was more along the lines of a Days Inn or Howard Johnsons. I think Ramada needs to change it's pricing levels to reflect it's new standards.
"Met Expectations"
The hotel is old and you can tell right away when you take the elevator up. You can hear every person that walks by your room and any tenants that are staying above you. However, I didn't expect much with the price I paid for the stay. The staff was friendly which made it a pleasant stay.
"Ramada on Olympic"
Decent accomodations for the price. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a little run down but overall a good stay for the price and location.
"Not a good experience"
The hotel is not on the street it is advertised at, it is on a side street and not very well marked. The toilet cistern dripped, the refrigerator was noisy, there was no hotel information in the room (the details of phone services was removed from the phone) and the airconditioning only heated and did not cool - when asked what was wrong with the air […] con I was told it only heats and when I asked what I should do to drop the temperature from 82 degrees and how to get some air circulating in the room I was told to crack open the door!! Quite the worst hotel I have stayed in for years and years - and I stay in a lot of hotels in a lot of places! Read more

"Ramada Los Angeles - Close to Convention Center"
The room and the hotel were clean and well maintained, very comfortable. Extremely convenient, about a mile from convention center.
"TIME FOR SOME TLC"
THE HOTEL WAS CONVENIENT FOR WORK, BUT THE PLACE NEEDS SOME RENOVATIONS. MY ROOM HAD A MUSTY SMELL, THE CARPET WAS DIRTY, THE FURNITURE WAS OLD, THE BATHROOM DOOR DIDN'T SHUT, THE TUB DRAIN WAS SLOW, AND THE TOILET SEAT WAS WORN.
"excellent times"
Very nice hotel near to san pedro distric fashion...

"Ramada at olympic blvd LA downtown"
torn office chairs. caught the cleaning lady peeing in my bathroom. Other than than, excellent staff, excellent service, free use of comp, very convienent location to downton center, comfortable clean beds.
"ramada inn los angeles"
the hotel had no heater, my sheets were stained, $150 fee if caught smoking, parking was across the street.
"10 minutes from USC"
This is easy to get to from LAX by car using surface routes. It is approximately 10 - 15 minutes from USC. The front desk is helpful and friendly. I was fortunate to get a room on the 3rd floor with a microwave and small fridge. The room is clean and maintained. The linen was clean and fresh. There is a small gym with 2 threadmills which I used over […] my 6 day stay. Read more
"located in china town"
The hotel was fine. It had a nice garden and pool. We never did use the hotel because it closed at 8:00 p.m. We would have used it if it had stayed open longer. The staff was not friendly, just did their job. Nothing around hotel to walk to unless you want Chinese food. It had a small restaurant on premise, we never used it. They wanted $12.00 for breakfast. […] The have a small store that is hardly ever open. I think they should close store and put Continental breakfast in its place. The room was fine, it had a small fridge, microwave and 4 cup coffee maker that made good coffee. Our room did have a small ant problem in bathroom. I would recomment hotel. I would highly recommend if they would make a few adjustments-noted above and have their staff a little more friendlier. Read more

Clean, friendly staff. Our room had faint remnants of weed, but other than that no big deal. Free garage parking with night security man who takes his job very seriously.
