The University of London and the British Museum give Bloomsbury a bookish air. Charlotte Street offers good restaurants, while Tottenham Court Road has electronic stores to suit all budgets, and links to the 300 shops of buzzing Oxford Street. Trendy Soho is a few minutes away by foot. Full of local character, it offers interesting pubs, top restaurants, West End theatres and a rich, sometimes risqué nightlife.

We spent three nights in One Alwydch and so had a good chance to get a valid opinion. The staff a terrific - they genuinely seem to care, nothing is too much trouble for them. Rooms are on the small side, but well equipped and spotlessly clean. Bathrooms are excellent, with proper showers. The vacuum p;umbing is noisy, though (like an aircraft!). Apart form that the rooms are virtually silent, with decent aircon. Food is very good, and surprisingly good value. The bar has a nice atmosphere with excellenet service. Without a doubt the best hotel I've stayed in in London (or anywhere else) for a long time.

Everything about this hotel was good. Sometimes its the smaller details that make a hotel stay special and OneAldwych had it. I would fully recommend this hotel for guest looking for that additional extra quality and comfort. Rooms are quite small but have every detail.

Beautifully designed hotel with a contemporary flair. The hotel lobby and bar area is very popular and stylish. The rooms, while somewhat smaller than expected, are clean and comfortable with thoughtful features. Had a small problem with the TV turning off every minute, but when brought to the attention of the front desk,it was fixed promptly. The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming.

The One Aldwych greatly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived after a long flight from San Francisco, we knew we were in good hands. Alain, a Frenchman at the Front Desk, escorted us to our room and explained how everything worked. Every day for five days we had fresh flowers in our room. While our room was small, it was cleverly arranged to make best use of the limited space. It was very quiet and overlooked a theatre that was crowded only briefly when there was a performance. The king size bed was very comfortable and had exquisite linens, turned down each evening. The complementary shoe shine was a nice touch. The spacious bar in the lobby was truly spectacular--very chic but nonetheless totally inviting. Above all the swimming pool in the basement was truly memorable--classical music played underwater, and it was an ideal place to do laps and unwind after a long trip. The location is superb--in the heart of the theatre district and adjacent to The Strand for shopping and to Waterloo Bridge and the South Bank. Museums are all close. The highest recommendation!

One Aldwych is in the perfect location - in Covent Garden and easily walkable to most of the city's major attractions. The hotel was trendy and nice and the room extremely comfortable and pleasant. LOVED the matteress and bedding, and the orchids around the room. The neighborhood is full of activity during the day and evening, but the hotel's location at the end of a block (relative to Covent Garden's access) keeps it quiet and uncrowded. A+++ hotel - I will definitely be back.
