Very disappointing! No swimming pool - undergoing very noisey repairs for the whole 2 wks. Sold holiday as being able to upgrade to 1/2 or full board at the hotel on arrival FOR 32 EUROS DAILY this they would not do! Not told by holiday provider on booking that there was no hold suitcase paid for in the price, £50 charge for suitcase. My fiance and I had a sea view room. The room was big and I requested a double bed and there was no fuss about it!!! It was clean with a nice light decor! You will find nice little restaurants next to the sea and a lot of shops nearby!! Paphos is a nice little city and theres a lot to visit!! About Annabelle site...I mean you can't go wrong, it is gorgeous […] all the palm trees and natural rock decoration around the swimming pools, its fantastic!! The sunbeds are the nicest i've tryied so far, meaning very comfortable!!! Although we rented for 1 day only, i would recommand it to anyone!! If you like peace and quiet places you should go there. My fiance and I are both 30 yrs old and the average of people staying at the hotel is around 50 yrs old. Nice and quiet ambiance!! Overall, Annabelle is quality!!! - 1 thing bad tho....when i wanted to take a hot bath a night, the water was semi cold? I would have rated our hotel experience as superb if there hadn't been a problem when we arrived. I had booked a room with twin beds (we were mother and daughter, not a couple) and I phoned the hotel the day before our arrival to confirm that you would be giving us twin beds, and was assured that you would. But when we arrived we were given a room with […] a double bed, and when I complained, I was told at first that you couldn't give us another room that night. Eventually, because I made a fuss, we were moved to a room with twin beds. But it took an hour, should not have happened in the first place, and when the mistake was discovered, it should have been corrected immediately in a hotel of this standard. This is rated as a 5 star hotel, but the rooms did not have bathrobes and it was not possible to get WiFi in my third floor room. Reception suggested I try the balcony or the lobby. We had a wonderful holiday at The Annabelle. The staff were extremely helpful eg. I happened to mention in casual conversation with a manager before dinner that my pillow was a little firm - new softer pillows were in the room when we returned from dinner. The lock on our door failed and was repaired within 10 minutes. All staff were very helpful and […] courteous. Bed linen was high quality cotton. Beds confortable. Food was excellent - a very up market buffet with a wide choice of well prepared/cooked dishes each evening. The chef was willing to prepare plain penne for our 4 year old grandson when he wanted it, but the choice was such at breakfast and dinner that both grandchildren ate extremely well and happily (and they are rather fussy!) Dreadful. Cold food although the soup and cold starters were good but then every day it gets a bit boring. The mains were a disaster. Breakfast was hit and miss service normally dreadful but good 3 of our 9 days. Food cold except the guy cooking at the greasy egg station. At least it was hot. The noise at the hotel was bad. They have a lot of weddings […] including one with 2000 guests (its not that big an hotel) not that you can sleep on their pillows more like plastic rocks. No tea or coffee facilities in the room, put shopped brought drinks in the room fridge at your peril. Could cost you 15 euros a day if you do. Biggest rip off was the water at dinner cost 5 euros for a bottle of Welsh water won't give you local or tap although they sell that at the pool bar!! Drinks expensive food very expensive. And if that's not bad enough Pafos is awful rather be in Blackpool. Read more

Only thing we would criticise is that the rooms have inadequate light in the evenings so that reading is difficult. However, the rooms are lovely with balconies overlooking the sea or pool area. We were upgraded automatically as the hotel wasn't full. There are a lot of decent restaurants within easy walking distance and some real gems. Originally my expectations were high as I'd booked on reading that the Annabelle was one of the very best in Paphos. I then found out (though not through this site or the hotel - and only after booking) that the hotel was due to close for renovations in week or so after our visit, so I was already prepped to find the hotel to be in a shabby state. […] It was - and some. However, it was clean, even though the paper was peeling off the walls. What i didn't expect was for most of the facilities to be closed (restaurants, gym, tennic courts, spa etc), so at the time I'd say the hotel barely scraped by as a 3* on facilities, rather than 5*. A few days in, all the sun loungers disappeared overnight (presumably into storage) leaving a weirdly empty plaza. Without notice, one morning the water was turned off til about 10 - was halfway through showering at the time. Also, for reasons that never became clear, the maid would burst into the room unannounced (you'd think to turn-down, but oddly sometimes actually ignored the bed?) at all times of day and evening, even if the do not disturb sign was up. Worst was that the fan in the bathroom and the aircon was so loud sleep was impossible even with earplugs and could not be turned off. We were told this problem was endemic to every room - eventually the hotel handyman disconnected if for us. Noise from the road was also pretty intolerable. Credit where it's due - staff we friendly and courteous ... when you could find them. Usually the hotel was empty as the Overlook Hotel in the Shining. However, they still had the cheek to charge us for a late checkout, even though the hotel was 95% empty. Neighbourhood - beware if you don't know Paphos that even though its the least commercialised resort town on the island, its still horribly tacky. Its on the main resort strip, surrounded by soulless bars and bad restaurants and you'll find the pavements copiously decorated in vomit come Saturday morning.
