Booked 2 different hotels over the weekend. Was looking forward to this one most as it was more expensive and had more facilities. Unfortunately we were dissapointed. The bed was not very large and creaked every time you moved on it. Next to the bed was pen marks on the wall (childs scribble) which I would have expected to have been sorted out before […] we checked in. The level of service from all the staff was exceptional, from the front desk to each of the waiters. It was our engagement weekend celebrations and we wanted somewhere close to home with a spa and pool and some gentle country walks close by. We upgraded our room to one with a lounge and it was very comfortable giving us the extra space to relax in and […] Wi-Fi at no extra cost. The bed was beautiful with loads of pillows and soft sheets. Not far from the hotel we had a lovely walk in the Bere Forest, also we wandered along the small river by the golf course attached to the hotel and visited some local pubs. The hotel is modern without being soulless. It is very tastefully decorated and the spa has a steam room, sauna, warn Jacuzzi and nice sized swimming pool. We will be visiting it again soon! Could not find fault with this hotel, Staff helpful, nice Spa, swimming pool, food not too bad in Zest either, would go back for another chillout weekend. Offered an upgrade to a suite for just £25.00, which we just had to have. Very spacious and clean, nice breakfast in our room.

Nice pleasant hotel. Friendly staff. Restaurant prices expensive, for average food. Cheapest wine £24 per bottle for a very ordinary Red. The Buffet Brakfast was good. as this was included in our room rate.

We felt the 4 star status was earned due to its leisure/spa/golf facility rather than the hotel itself which was a bit dated and uninspiring . The bar/restaurant was taken over by a wedding on our first evening so we ate in our room instead and the meal was lukewarm rather than hot when it came but still eatable . Fantastic. Stayed one night with my wife and 2 children. On arrival asked about upgrade to suite. Very resonable price. Great ground floor room (as lift was broken and they could see we had buggy and baby bits). Went for the spa break with dinner, bed and breakfast. Couldnt fault any of it!! Excellent service throughout our stay. The restaurant was superb, the spa and leisure facilities were also very good. The grounds were amazing, set around a gold club. The only down side was no air con in the delux room we stayed in but we really enjoyed our stay.

We stayed for 4 nights on the school holiday break which was good value. The facilities were good and the golf was great, I am told. Restaurant food was very good and bar food was ok. Lovely places to sit outside. Treatment in the spa was relaxing and spa facilities were good. We would definitely consider staying again.

Lovely hotel. Good facilities including pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Most people were there to play golf so the other facilities can be enjoyed well. Breakfast buffet was nice with good options for vegetarians as well. Bed was comfortable and there is a shower inside a bath tub but all pretty decent. Would stay there again.

Reception and restaurant staff were extremely helpful. Room was confortable for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children). Having spent the day down at Gun Wharf Keys, we wanted a get-away that wasn't in the city centre. This was absolutely the perfect. The staff were amazing and couldn't have done more to impress us. Hotel is beginning to show its age in a couple of areas. Very dissapointing to have to queue to be seated for breakfast for 20 minutes most mornings and some of the service of the waiting staff is not what you would expect given the price charged. We booked the Meon Valley for a night away, thinking we would have two queen size beds to sleep us and the kids. Wrong. Although that had been our request the hotel couldn't / wouldn't meet it and could only put an extra rollaway bed in the room, meaning one of the children had to sleep in our bed. Not great. Not long before that we'd had a night in […] a Premier Inn, which had been able to accommodate the four of us in a room adequately. The amenities were fine and the kids enjoyed the pool. So, for comfort and cleanliness the Meon Valley was as good as the Premier Inn just a lot more expensive and inconvenient. A return visit? I doubt it very much. Read more

Whilst the hotel it's self was clean and well maintained, I feel that the chaotic nature of the breakfast service let them down somewhat. As a family with 2 children under 4 we found this hotel excellent! The room was great, the staff very friendly. We were visiting Peppa Pig World and this hotel was our base, we even managed to get a cheeky swim into our stay! This was our first hotel stay with 2 children and we'll be going back again next year!

As with all Marriott Hotels that we have stayed with previously, the standard of facilities at this particular hotel are excellent. The golf course surrounding the hotel is very well kept and the leisure facilities are very good. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal that we had was of a good standard however the menu is limited and for a […] family with young children to eat in the hotel each night can work out very expensive. The minibar in the hotel room is no longer in use but if you ask at reception they will arrange for it to be switched on so you can keep your own drinks cool. We visited Paultons Park/Peppa Pig World which is about 40 minutes drive from the hotel and even though the hotel is a little way out from main attractions this didn't really cause any problems as the quality of the hotel made up for this. Very pleasant location. The room was spacious and comfortable (slight problem with the toilet which took about 10 minutes to refill after flushing). The bar staff were keen to clean up in the evening and it was slightly annoying that they started to vacuum while we were still eating! But we did enjoy our stay and would recommend.

The hotel was set perfectly amongst a well wooded area, close to the charming little villages of Wickham and Botley. It's the perfect in between to visit both Southampton and Portsmouth. The pool facilities were a great addition for the children, and Wickham Wine Bar down the street provides an excellent meal and wine list.

We arrived, a family of three in need of a well deserved break, in the leafy, country setting of the Meon Valley Marriott. Check in went smoothly and our room was very nice having not long before been refurbished. The only downside to the room was that the refrigerators are no longer used so do not get cold. Not so handy if you wish to keep some cold […] water to hand or perhaps chill a few beverages or snack that you happen to have brought along. We made up for this by getting an extra ice bucket from the bar and was sufficient for our needs. Overall the experience was very pleasant. The bar was reasonably priced, the restaurant food slightly pricey but quite acceptable fare, the staff more than helpful. We enjoyed the facilities such as the pool, steam room and sauna but, as we are not golfers, stayed off the golf course. It's all to be recommended really. If I was to find something wrong I'd be nitpicking. Well worth the stay and we'll be going back in the autumn for a top up. Read more
