Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa - Coronado

Everything was.perfect. This was a very last minute reservation when our motorhome developed mechanical problems. We were given a room with a bay view. Our waiter at the hotel restaurant on sat morning went way above & beyond what was expected. He even opened the door for us to leave when we were done. I would definitely stay here again. Michele

Have stayed here before. We like the location of the hotel. And when you are out by the pool or eating outside you have a great view of the bay. There are just a few things we are hoping could be addressed. First, there is no emergency map on the inside of the door. Second, there is no fan in the bathrooms. We stayed here for a special occasion, it's pricey, but the service was excellent, The beds were very comfortable, and we had a great room with a balcony overlooking the bay towards the gaslight district. It's close to everything, and you can take a ferry over to the gaslight district which is handy because parking in downtown San Diego is a nightmare. […] you can also catch a cab to the local eateries in Coronado rather than driving. I was very happy with my stay at the Coronado Island Marriott. For me, it was a perfect location for my weeklong conference at San Diego's Conference Center, as I had a beautiful view and felt like I was actually on vacation when I wasn't at the conference. I had a gorgeous view from my room of San Diego Bay and downtown San Diego, including the convention […] center. I would take a water taxi across each day (you do have to pay for this, but to me it was worth it). The room and bathroom were spacious. The staff was exceptional. Overall, the hotel is lovely. Very nice grounds, beautiful setting. When we checked in we were anxious to check email, etc. Internet in the room is an additional charge. Fine, we went to the lobby. The restaurant needs to have an afternoon light meal offering. No newspaper unless you go to the lobby in the morning. But the thing that really annoyed […] me was our door to our room!! It had a huge gouge out of it by the cross-bar security fastener. I took pics of it. I didn't think too much of it until I went to lock the door for the night and it didn't have an inside security fastener. It was broken off! So, I called the front desk, they sent maintenance to fix it promptly, but their housekeeping staff should report glitches like this. It was inconvenient for us to wait on maintenance when we were tired. Also, parking is expensive. It was expensive to self-park, and valet is just a little bit more, so we used valet. Other than these things, the place is lovely and in their favor, they cut $50 off our bill for the un-locking door mishap. They will work with you and try to make your stay pleasant. Read more

My husband and three young daughters stayed at this hotel for 6-nights. We had a fantastic time and we felt very comfortable. The Hotel Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the 1-bedroom villas. It was right on the water and big enough for all five of us.

I had to go to San Diego for a conference show and this hotel was perfect to stay at. There is actually a ferry close to the hotel that will take to you across the bay in only a few minutes. We booked a king size bed, but when we arrived they told us that it was not available. Quite disappointed! I wished they would've told us that when we made our reservation It took half an hour to check us in. The front desk lady was incompetent; she was not able to pull up our reservation without us giving her our booking confirmation number. Hotel was nice, bathroom tiles are grimy and old. Staff was great food not very good at all.The breakfast buffet was a wast at $24.00 , I recommend going somewhere else to eat. Pool area was nice and clean. Self parking at $20.00 plus dollars is a little much. All in all it is a OK place.

The hotel is conveneintly placed across from the San Diego skyline which is so pretty at night. We rented bikes and enjoyed riding around the whole island as the sunset over by the Del is worth the ride. During our stay it seemed that the pool allowed quite a few local guests(moms) and their children that I believe were not staying at the hotel. As […] moms relaxed their children were loud and running around making the day at the pool not as relaxing as we would have liked. I am not sure if people understand resort pool etiquette but when you share a space you should remember voice control and space restraints. light switches were not convenient and some were switched outlets. My husband has a breathing machine and he couldn't plug it in without leaving the light on . Luckily there was one on the counter that the cord reached Food was only so so not as good or as many choices as you would expect of a hotel of this calibur.

The Good: Relaxing property and location, great pool, great restaurant The Bad: Make sure you budget for the onsite parking, on-site restaurant is very expensive, ducks that bug you while you eat outside at the restaurant, duck poop on the outdoor restaurant furniture, uncomfortable beds - both my wife and I came home with bad backs.

Great view of the harbor from the bay view rooms & the pool/dining areas. Little quieter staying on this side of Coronado or the harbor. Rooms were clean and quiet and quite nice for an older hotel. It was nice to take their ferry to the San Diego side, we'll stay again.
