See over all review at top Hotel setting, accommodations, food and service were excellent. Hotel was missing Air Conditioning - this was not said in ad or registration. As the temperatures hovered in the 90's this was rather uncomfortable. Fans provided only moved hot air. Keeping windows opened allowed bugs to get in. Hotel was charging absurd prices […] for access to internet. Made confirming flights and printing boarding passes impossible. Hotel blocks access to electrical plugs to prevent theft of lamps. When medical equipment was required there was no easy way to access power source in the rooms. We use CPAP equipment and it took a maintenace engineer some time to make power available. Read more

A lovely stay from start to finish. Nice location, golf course, swimming pool/spa what more can you ask for. Bedrooms are comfy, clean and tidy and the staff are very pleasant and helfpful. I will definately be returning to this hotel and highly recommend to anyone.

Most average, business type hotel, overpriced breakfast, room service trays left outside doors in corridors for hours and hours [ like all day], badly finished bathroom. bath sealant applied liberally all over the place, shoddy workmanship. Had to stay here as convenient to our visit to Salts Mill at Saltaire. For well over a hundred pounds a night, […] they just take the money. Oh, and they charge an exorbitant amount for internet access in the day of free wi-fi this again not on, just a money making exercise by the hotel. One small point to mention, the pool and steam where adequate but again floors where grubby and cold, kids having pool lessons whilst we where there so a country club full of screaming loud kids not my idea of giving a restful atmosphere. Stayed at this hotel for the golf which has a great course. The decor needs updating as its all very tired looking, especially the bathrooms.Wifi should be free. On a positive note the staff were all very attentive and polite.

We stayed for one night and found the staff to be helpfull and friendly offering good advise on local eateries. The room was clean, warm and comfortable and the breakfast was excellant. We made use of the spa before leaving which finished off a nice overnight stay and would recommend to others.

A comfortable property. The hotel is situated in a large park-like setting with leisure facilities and a golf course. The room was comfortable and the bed and bedding excellent. One minor niggle - a bedside lamp did not work (and a bulb change did not fix it).

On arrival at this hotel we went into the bar for a drink but it was so cold we didn't stay, The hotel needs refurbishing as it looked very run down. the room was very small but clean. Excellent situation near to Shipley which was perfect for an overnight business/leisure stay exploring the area. Very detailed explanation about all the hotel's facilities on arrival which was obviously procedural but a little unnecessary. Lifts or stairs up to room which was large, well furnished with comfortable beds. Not too hot either, although […] I did open the window at bedtime. Tea and coffee facilities were well stocked (although nowhere ever seems to have Green or fruit teas which would have been an added plus). Bathroom large and practical. We made use of the Gym and Pool; very impressed by the quality of the treadmills (you can watch TV on them!). Pool was slightly dated according to my sister, but pleasant nonetheless. Didn't dine in the hotel in the evening but the breakfast was incredible. Amazing selection it was hard to choose - a wide range of hot foods, cereals, bread and pastries, fresh fruit, juices and yoghurt and even a waffle and omelette station. I always judge a place on the quality of its breakfast and this one was truly stellar. Really comfortable stay at the Hollins Hall and would definitely stay in the future. Read more

We had booked a room for my wife and I and our son. We had requested a rollaway bed or sofa bed but when we arrived the receptionist seemed surprised that there were three of us - even though it was clear from our confirmation e mail. They said that they would put a rollaway bed in the room but three hours later I had to ring reception to ask again. […] We went to dinner (which we had to take in the very noisy bar full of a golf club beans because the restaurant was fully booked) when we got back still no rollaway bed. Eventually after another call to reception it turned up. The reception and all hotel staff were excellent with my son and I did not feel at all uneasy as you can do in some hotels with children. we stayed at Hollins Hall for 2 nights, in a family room with our two children. We had booked what we were quoted as Bed and Breakfast rate for 2 adults and 2 children....however on arrival we were told that we would have to pay for breakfast for our 15 yr old, at a price of £10, although this was not stated on our booking form!! Overall the hotel was […] clean, but the ladies showers in the leisure club were appalling. The smell of drains was overwhelming, and they needed a thorough clean! The jacuzzi was out of order (although we were informed of this by reception) which was a disappointment, the steam room was not very warm and the swimming area was quite dated, considering it is a 'spa' and leisure club. On our 2nd day we were going to a party which started at 5.30pm. We returned to our room at 3.30pm to get ready, only to find that the room had not been cleaned!!! It was eventually cleaned at 4pm, which is unacceptable! The room was spacious and comfortable, only thing was we had to phone for maintance on arrival as toilet flush didnt work. they came to fix it but it still wasnt right but workable with a few attempts. Loved our stay at this hotel. It was clean, friendly and great service. The only disappointment was the wireless. It was useless even for my phone, let alone my iPad ! Would have been a major issue had I needed to work on my laptop or pick up email. As we were on a break it was just annoying! I would go back though as I enjoyed everything else.

We were on our way from friends in Chester to friends near Leyburn. This was a last minute Valentine's "treat" for my wife and 2 boys! I was impressed with the reviews with this hotel - as a business traveller, I pretty much know what to expect. When we arrived I was pretty impressed. The environs was a lovely driveway to an impressive building. The […] greeting in the Reception was very friendly and smooth. Off to a good start... My wife was concerned that they wanted to swipe my Visa card - "no worries" I said - "all standard stuff". The room we had been allocated they had an issue with a shower curtain so they put us in an alternative room - same spec as ordered - 2 double beds. Cutting to the chase - the room was excellent - clean, roomy, beds perfect for us and the boys (7 and 10 years old). Ice-making machine in the nearby corridor perfect for our own bottle of Prosecco. As per usual I greeted everyone I met and they were all very polite. Facilities - excellent! We used the swimming pool twice - once in the late afternoon, and again the following morning. The boys absolutely loved it - as did my wife and I. The jacuzzi / spa pool was great. The pool was great. The changing rooms and showers were great. I got up early the next day and had a good session in the gym - a mix of free weights and machines plus a separate cardio room. The rower I used was latest Concept 3 (rather than the Concept 2s I have at my gym). In the main weight room, I managed to Leg Press the whole stack, bench nearly the stack (but not quite), did a load of chin-ups and dips but was slightly disappointed the dumbbells only went to 30kg (66lbs) but hey-ho, not a powerlifter's gym. All very impressive. BEST hotel gym I have EVER been to. FULL STOP! The dinner was in ZEST - great service, superb meal - I actually thought it was pretty good value when comparing the quality of the meal to other restaurants. The biggest plus was the breakfast.
