Excellent room and typical Marriott quality. Hotel is a little farther away, but the advantage is that the trolley is right outside. With other hotels, you have to walk to the trolley line.

Hotel was very nice. Easy to get to. Rooms were clean. Its situated in an ideal spot. Far enough off Beale Str to have peace and quiet, yet still close enough that you can walk to lots of stuff. Trolley line runs by the hotel which is convenient if you want to ride to wherever. There's lots of police and "safety officers" in the downtown area so the area felt fairly safe. The only things I'd ding the hotel for is: 1) there were no glasses in the room, 2) parking was not free and cost $12/day.

We stayed here last year during Elvis Week and didn't hesitate to book again when we decided we were going to Elvis Week 2008. The staff is always courtious and helpful. The maid even helped me by opening my room door and holding it open when she saw that my 2 year old was asleep on my shoulder and couldn't reach my key. The area is ok, I like the fact I can step right outside and catch the trolley. And that I can park across the street under the convention center so easily. Definitley should stay on business or family trip.

A nice hotel in downtown Memphis, but can get suites at nearby hotel at the same price as the rooms in this hotel. I would recommend using the valet since the parking garage is actually under the convention center across the street. The hotel has two sets of elevators for the two "towers" as they are known. The employee at the front desk didn't explain that we would need to take the second set of elevators instead of the first. Not a big deal, unless you have a lot of luggage and are extremely tired. Seeing as that we were checkin in at 11:30pm, we were not happy to have to spend the extra time and effort "exploring" the hotel.

Me and a few friends had come into Memphis to see a big name concert in the area. The hotel was located less than a mile from the venue, so the location was perfect. After the show we didn't get back to the hotel until about 11:45. The air conditioning was barely working and the toilet wouldn't flush. We called down multiple times and nobody answered the phone. We went downstairs and couldn't find anybody to help us. Despite the downfalls, the hotel had some positives. The beds were comfy, the room was clean, and the bar downstairs was nice. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. I'm sure my experience was an exception, not the rule.

The lobby was plain. The hotel was crowded and full of drunks stumbling in off the street, even though it's barely within walking street of Bealle. They don't leave newspapers by the door in the morning. The elevator lights were out, so you couldn't tell if you were going to the right floor or not. My room could use a renovation. For the price I paid, I expected more. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable.

Friendly staff, stop for the trolley to Biel St. is just outside the door, two blocks from a reasonably priced and excellent restaurant/bar, Westy's, that serves a plethora of wild rice dishes. Room was quiet and clean. They had to move me on the day that I decided to stay more time due to already having my room blocked off for a large group, so they gave me a very roomy suite for the same price. Great service. I'd stay there again.
