This little hotel has location, location, location! It is less than 5-10 minutes walking distance to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, & Tempolo Adriano. It is about 15-20 minutes from the Coliseum, the Forum, and Vittoria Emmanuelle, around 25-30 minutes from Piazza del Popolo, and a half hour from the Vatican. Seconds away from the main artery Via Del Corso, you can’t get a better location for a more reasonable price. The front desk staff is wonderful and Tomosso in particular will not hesitate to recommend the best restaurants and tell you how to get to all the sites within Rome. He recommended fabulous restaurants and mapped out a walkable itinerary of sites daily for us. If you don’t care to walk, the hop on hop off bus is two minutes away. What really sets this hotel apart is the 5th floor outside deck with a panoramic view which is used for breakfast in the morning and a possible night cap at night. What a way to start and end a day. It was beyond gorgeous and really a delightful highlight to a memorable stay in Rome. The rooms are big enough to accommodate two easily and are clean and neat. The only difficulty I encountered was that I was unable to connect to Wi-Fi but instead used the downstairs computer. Some of the rooms on the upper floors are only accessible by a short stairway which is difficult with heavy luggage. Other than that, our stay was perfect and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We did not get information that payment by card was not accepted. The breakfast was poor, bread from yesterday, cerials too sweet. The juice was more like lemonade than fruit-juice.

Had a great experience. Our triple room was clean and bed very comfortable, including pillows. 40 inch hd tv with all the sky channels with the options to switch to English language. Filled a form with time and choices for breakfast . Arrived on time and plenty of food. ( Italian style breakfast) . Front desk nice and helpful. Near American embassy, hard rock cafe' , villa borghese park( very nice!) . Would stay there again and reccomand it to friends and family

The St. Regis Rome's Vivendo restaurant serves Mediterranean dishes like foie gras and bass carpaccio with balsamic vinegar. The restaurant features silver chairs and grey-and-purple silk wall hangings. Speciality cocktails are mixed in Le Grand Bar, which has red velvet seating, a marble bar and Wednesday night jazz. Afternoon tea is served in the Grand Hall, featuring an original 1894 chandelier and Louis XIV furnishings.
The St. Regis Rome has a 24-hour business centre with 3 computers, and offers complimentary dial-up and wireless Internet access in public areas.

The decor is equally imaginative: grey-and-purple silk hangings, silver armchairs, and custom-made candleholders. The wine cellar includes 520 wines, 40 of which are specially provided for the hotel. Vivendo is open for dinner Tuesday-Saturday. The private dining room, La Champagnerie, seats 14.
Le Grand Bar - Tucked away on one side of the gilded Grand Hall, Le Grand Bar serves sophisticated cocktails including the César Ritz (gin and Sambuca in a coffee-frosted glass). The room includes a black-marble bar and red-velvet banquettes. Rome’s central train station, Termini is the entry point to the city from Fiumicino Airport, and is an impressive modern architectural sight. Between here and glamorous Via Veneto, there are several interesting places to visit. The Palazzo Barberini is a superb baroque palace, the Terme di Diocleziano was the city’s largest bath complex and the Church of Santa Maria della Concezione is remarkable for its Capuchin monks’ crypt.

"St. Regis overpriced"
Rooms are very small - not what I would expect for such an expensive hotel, supposedly the best or one of the best in Rome. Nothing extra included - they want to charge you for Wifi, breakfast, etc. Room was dusty. And they tried to charge us extra for "city taxes", something that we had already paid up front when we booked.

Location fine, clean hotel with nightly turndown, prompt room service, friendly staff. Concierge directions as though we knew the city, and because of this we couldnt find two of the recommended eateries. Recommended Restaraunts all outstanding. Room too hot, and no matter how much we turned the thermostat down we could not cool the room.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel over the Christmas holidays. The rooms were elegant with very comfortable beds and the staff was approachable, helpful, and friendly. The concierges provided us with great restaurant choices including a memorable New Years Eve dinner. The location was near the train station and fairly close to the Via Veneto and […] Spanish Steps. "Beautiful hotel!"
We LOVED staying here... altho it's location is not as great as being at the top of the spanish steps, the hotel makes up for the location any day! The lobby is gorgeous, fun upscale bar in back of lobby, gorgeous and spactious rooms. We LOVED everythign about this hotel. Can't wait to go back! Definitely worth the extra $!!!

The hotel is within walking distance to the most popular sites in Rome: The Spanish Steps, the Forum, and the Colisseum, as well as the main train terminal station. The hotel is lavish and beautiful with large rooms and bathrooms. The price is high, but you are paying for the five-star rating. And the food is pretty good with generous portions and lots of extras (bread/butter, cookies, etc.) The staff is exceedingly friendly from the bell-boys to the reception to the concierge. It is on a busy street, but not a main street. Can be a bit noisy if on the lower floors, but the heavy curtains cut out most of the noise regardless. We just can't say enough about the absolutely stunning luxury and ornamentation of the St. Regis. The staff was extremely accomodating and spoke very good English (a relief for us as we did not speak Italian very well). This Hotel set the trip for us and made a wonderful start to our vacation. We arrived at the St. Regis for the beginning of our honeymoon. As we came by plane overnight from NY, the staff had our room ready for us when we arrived at 9am. The hotel is truly perfect. It has an old world charm, beautiful decor and exceptional service. The bedrooms are large, the beds comfortable and the amenities exceptional. The only possible […] drawback is the location. Located near Piazza Republica and the Train Station, it is slightly out of the way. However, we did not mind the location all that much. Rome is quite large and the sights are scattered throughout the city so there may be no perfect location (although possibly near the Spanish Steps). We stayed for two nights in August. This hotel location is not quite in the real heart of the city but is a short cab ride or walk to all the main interest points. Concierge very good in helping choose restaurants that suit our tastes. Front of desk staff and Room maintenance are weak, maybe it was lack of interest due to the August low period.
