Hotel is in the ideal loaction. Only a 2 minute walk to the Whistler/Blackcomb gondolas. Located in the heart of the action in Whsitler village. The room was comfortable and clean. Has an awesome dining room in the hotel. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Overall my experience was great. I would stay at this hotel again.
"The Harry Potter Room"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 5, 2013
Okay, maybe it's not as small as the Harry Potter closet, but my room was the one on the end of the hotel that was squeezed in there just because they had room. Most other hotels probably have this space as a storage space, or maybe a break room for the hotel staff. There was no room for a desk, there was no chair, no place to set up my laptop...frustrating. It was nothing like it showed on the website. Other than that, the hotel was nice and very well situated on the Village Walk in Whistler. Just make sure when you make your reservation that you don't get the room in the corner on the end.
"Whistler Village"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 29, 2013
Check-in process (like many of the places in Whistler) was clunky...had to check-in across the way, and then back to the hotel. Room was cozy and loved the location. Would stay there again.

Terrific location but it is a ski out-one has to take a shuttle to the lifts but you can ski home. The only negative-refrigerator made very loud noises all night. Nice place!
"Nice rooms but location is not the most convenient"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jan 27, 2013
We arrived late (~10pm) after flying all day and driving up from the airport through traffic. The front desk was closed and we had to drive all the way back to the village to the Blackcomb Lodge for check in. Not sure if I just missed this in our reservation or if it wasn't specified but the whole process of driving back and forth added an extra 45 minutes to our check in. Our room was great -- clean, comfortable, well-appointed. We had a small balcony overlooking the pool/hot tub area below and a fireplace. In unit washer and dryer was nice. The pool and hot tub were great -- perfect temperatures for both! The location of the hotel was not ideal. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the main village but the wait can be up to 15 minutes and it's about a 15 minute ride.

"Beautiful View of Mountain"
Our family had a great time here on vacation. I liked being just far enough from the main village. The room was very comfortable and clean and the view of Blackcomb Mountain was awesome. We had a great time in the heated pools and hot tubs in the evenings. Portobello restaurant was very convenient for breakfast. Would definitely stay her again! Thank […] you! "Winner Hotel at Whistler!"
We arrived at the Chateau Whistler with our little 5-year-old granddaughter. She was thrilled to be staying in a "castle" and decided that, for the time we were there, she was to be called Princess Sophia. The front desk staff were so friendly and kind not only to us but also to her. We enquired about transportation to the Peak to Peak Gondola and were […] told it would be no trouble for a hotel employee to drive us down there. This was especially appreciated as my husband has had a stroke and has difficulty walking. We were given a late check-out so we would have time to take the gondolas there and back. Our experience at this hotel was outstanding. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"WiFi Issue"
I couldn't believe they charged for WiFi. One charge for WiFi and more for plugging in to their network. THe WiFi was slow and did not work some of the time. I complained and they refunded my WiFi money. But it put me in a lousy mood and had an adverse affect on my opinion of the stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect - Except For Internet"
The Fairmont Whistler is a beautiful hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This hotel is also pet-friendly, so you can bring your pet with you. The only area of improvement needed is the Internet service, which was sporadic. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for 5-star accommodations at a fair price.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great with Kids"
This is a very nice hotel, especially if you a travelling with twin 9 year old boys to go skiing! The best feature is the convenience of the ski rental gear shop and storage on the bottom floor next to the ski slope. We stayed on the "Gold" floor which provided a very nice complimentary breakfast every morning. Would stay again?Genuine Expedia guest review

"Just what we expected..."
we had a wonderful time at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Other than the room type (queen vs. king) misunderstanding, all other aspects of our stay were great! We thoroughly enjoyed the convenience of the ski valet located in the hotel, and only steps from the slopes. We spent several evening in the Mallard lounge apres ski, while enjoying the local […] singer. Everyone working at the hotel was friendly and did their best to help us with directions, etc. We would definitely stay there again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful location"
Fabulous experience! Very nice hotel and gorgeous view of the mountain . The hotel is a little old and is missing a few here and there however, the customer service was fantastic. Because we have a toddler, they gave us a microwave in the room. The only odd thing was we had to pay for internet. In US is always free.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location"
Room was comfortable...carpeting spotted and needed cleaning. Concierge staff vacillated between helpful and sort of snooty. Food in the restaurant was good but the lighting was "cafeteria-like" in the evening.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, would go back!"
This is a very nice hotel in Whistler's Upper Village. For those unfamiliar with the area, this is about a 10 minute walk to the "main" village areas with all the shops and restaurants. However, if you go in the summer and have kids this is the place to be because there is an amusement park area right in the hotel's back yard! I originally reserved […] a Fairmont Room, but was upgraded to a Deluxe Room because there was a problem with the bathroom faucet. I GREATLY preferred the look of the Deluxe room so would recommend this option. The original room had red carpeting which was stained in some areas and the wall decorations were also not to my liking. However, the Deluxe Room had a much more sophisticated feel with wood paneling, etc and was also on a higher floor. There are several shops and restaurants in the hotel itself as well as the surrounding area. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and I would definitely consider returning to the hotel if my travels take me back to Whistler. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The Fairmont Whistler is a five star hotel in a five star location. Walking distance to both villages with hotel restaurants providing excellent food and service. Room was very clean and spacious for three adults. Hotel staff was very helpful providing directions to our next destination and information on BC ferries. Definitely a five star hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Review Fairmont Chateau Whistler"
Very nice hotel perfectly located. The concierge was very helpful, the location was excellent. Restaurants were nice as well. The carpet in our room had some stains, otherwise very nicely appointed rooms. The television was dated a bit, and I think they should offer free wifi for the price. All in all a great stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A stay we will long remember....magical and romantic."
The Fairmont was absolutely charming in everyway. Great Location, Great Facilities, Great Staff, Great Food, and we had a fabulous room on the 10th Floor. We walked around Whistler and thought the Fairmont offered the most value for a total experience compared to other comparable hotels. We will be back.Genuine Expedia guest review

Don´t take a car, parking is very expensive. Internet is expensive as well and not good quality. Cleanliness is not as good as we expected...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No free wi-fi and parking prices are exorbitant."
Overall it's a great hotel but a little overpriced for just a regular room. I think the name carries a lot of weight with respect to the pricing. Secondly, there is no free wi-fi or parking for such an upscale and expensive hotel. Parking prices are outrageous. I think they can afford to offer free parking and wi-fi for their guests.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"New Year Treat!"
We were extremely pleased with the hotel. It was a very busy time in the first week of the New Year so we had to wait for over an hour to check into our room - however, we were able to wait in the very comfortable lobby. The staff that we encountered were all, without exception, courteous, helpful and friendly & thanked us for being understanding due […] to the busy time of year. Our room was very pleasant overlooking the slopes and the beds most comfortable. The pools, hot tubs and shower rooms were clean & well-maintained. "It's in the upper village, not the main village."
It's the Fairmont...and consistent with all Fairmont Hotels, lobby is nice, restaurants are nice, bars are nice, rooms are small and generally antiquated. This is not the W hotel. If you want to be situated in the main village, near all the action, during the day and during the night, then this is not the hotel for you as it is located in the Upper […] Village....a 10 minute walk to the main village. I wanted to be situated in the main village and the listing did not mention that the hotel was not in the main village so that was kind of disappointing. For the price the fairmont charges, I recommend looking at the Pan Pacific, Hilton, Sundial, or Executive Inn hotels as these are all located at the base of the whistler/black comb mountain in the main village. "Renovations and closure"
Very comfortable place as always. However, renovations are undergoing so access to the pool is via staircase so no change room and showers on that floor. Also, the take out restaurant Portobello was closed which left us with no options for smaller and cheaper breakfast. It is scheduled to re-open Nov 22. It is too bad that they did not post this as […] we would have made plans to bring small eats. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Generally fine, staff is excellent.Only niggling item is the pool was being renovated. There was a backup outdoor, heated, pool, for laps..which was actually fine. But, we would have appreciated knowing ahed of time that the main in-out pool was under renovation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
