We spent four nights in February -- family of 4, with two teenagers. The hotel was simpy fantastic in every respect. The staff could not be better. The Wildflower restuarant was also excellent. Our son has many food allergies. The chef came to our table on our first day to better understand his allergies, and henceforth made special meals for him, including […] gluten free/vegan pancakes every morning. We travel often and I cannot recall a better experience at any hotel, anywhere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"On the slopes"
Beautiful hotel. They've thought of all your needs as a skier. We used the Gold Service and it was really sad when we had to leave, so spoiled. It was very easy to get to either mountain for skiing.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice hotel, friendly staff, room was not clean (hair in bathtub, soap residue on sink), great location to start your daily skitripGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't go anywhere else!"
The hotel and staff were unbelievable! I have never met any nicer people anywhere I've stayed. I will return!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location, Nice Hotel"
You cannot beat the location for proximity to the slopes and a cozy, but grand bar for apres ski delights. The rooms are basic (althought the bed was very comfortable), but you're paying for location. Housekeeping was inconsistent during our stay which was during the holidays and prices at restaurants and bars seemed very high (as compared to other […] luxurey properties we've stayed at). Over a positive experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Family Stay"
For ski in and ski out convenience this hotel can't be beat. From the moment we arrived at the door until the end of our four day stay the staff was there for our every need. The checked our skiis at the front door, loaded our large bundle of bags and transfered them to our room. Waitstaff in the lounges, rental shops and restaurants were extremely […] friendly and helpful. The distance to the downtown Whistler stroll is a little far - a 10 minute walk - but hotel shuttles run every 15 minutes. As with other resort properties I've visited the onsite meals, drinks and other services are on the pricy side. Be prepared for possible sticker shock if you eat a lot of meals and have drinks on site. But, the food was always first rate. Out family of four completely enjoyed this stay and were taken with the holiday decorations (we stayed just before Christmas) of both the hotel and the Whistler villiage stroll. "Great winter experience"
The Fairmont is a grand winter skiing experience. From the Hotel entrance greeting, the lobby and the check-in, the room - everything was really great. The bar with the big fireplace is the best in Whistler. The Service and staff handling the ski valet is really nice. Boots are nice and warm when you get them in the morning and you're off toward the […] ski lift next to the hotel immediately. Spa + outdoor pool area is nice too. If anything - the hotel close-up exterior impression is less grand than the interior. When looking down at the hotel from the mountain I really looked forward to after-ski in the hotel. I plan to go again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Fabulous hotel!! Only comment is they use flat bottom bed sheets and they did not stay tucked in at all, I was constantly fighting with the bottom sheet. Wish they would either use fitted bottom bed sheets or use the sheet strap/band that goes under the mattress and clips to opposite sides of the flat sheet to keep it from coming untucked.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A great romantic getaway for the two of you!!"
This remarkable hotel is located within easy walking distance of the Olympic Village dining, markets and stores. The hotel is an architectural gem and located in the middle of a outdoorsman's dream paradise. If you are looking for a romantic place with a great atmosphere surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery, this is your place!Genuine Expedia guest review
"good location for any time of year"
We found the hotel to be ideally situated at the base of Blackcomb mountain in a quiet setting with only short walk to Whistler mountain. At the time of visit (beginning of Sept) there was a good childrens fairground operating at Blackcomb. Amenities at the hotel were very good, particularly the pool and gym with excellent shower facilities. Although […] the Wildflower restaurant is expensive it does offer excellent food but the hotel does have the Portobello cafe which again offers excellent food at more realistic prices for those like me who need to stretch the budget as far as possible. Only problem is the airconditioning is on full blast making it very cold in the corridor when it really doesn't have to be that cold...seems to be a waste of energy. Rooms come with controllable A/C so no problem there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very disappointed/ Dirty room"
Location is convenient, close to the lift, but overall I was very disappointed. The hotel is HUGE and felt like an amusement park with all of the kids running around, disorganized staff at the front desk and dated decor. Our room had not been cleaned properly, including hairs in bathtub, stains on comforter (looked like makeup?) and chipped paint throughout. […] I don't require much at a hotel stay, but I do always expect a room to be clean. It should be noted, however, that the housekeeping staff was very receptive and apologetic. They immediately switched our rooms, which was greatly appreciated. Although we were disappointed to find that we couldn't rent an in-room movie later that night, as the hotel's system was down (which we should have been told at check in). Similarly, the wildflower restaurant was underwhelming. Halibut was fine but overpriced for what it was. Excellent service though. The pool area was pretty, but packed with people and loud music. It felt like a frat party. I have had positive Fairmont stays, specifically at Lake Louise and Maui, but will not be returning to this location. Go to the Four Seasons instead. "Whistler Upper Village"
Beautiful, grand hotel located in the quieter Whistler Village. Nice indoor/outdoor pool for the children. Drinks and food were more expensive though one is paying for the ambience. Beautiful views of the Blackcomb and Whistler mountains.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Extremely upset by the service"
We were very upset that we had to wait for 3 hours past our check in time. We got the keys to our room at 7pm. Our room wasn't ready on time and we were made to wait around in the lobby being told that it should be ready in half an hour. The reception area was extremely chaotic and the staff wasn't pleasant at all. I do understand that it was busy for […] the long weekend but the hotel was so disorganized and wasn't prepared at all. Moreover, Once we finally got to our room, our bags took another 30 mins to arrive. Since, we were there for only 1 night , all this lost time in waiting totally upset us. "Nice pool area for this Chateau property"
Our motivation to stay at this property was the Fairmont brand. The past experience has been favorable and the standard of the property was not disappointing. We liked the Fairmont a great deal, but we could see and walked through other similar hotels in lux style that would have served us well, also. The single best feature was the pool area. Our family […] are serious swimmers and it's hard to do laps for a cardio workout in the family style pool patio areas most hotels offer. The location was okay. We had our car when we wanted to venture further then a short walk. The village shops and entertainment, restaurants etc were in the lower village1/2 mile away. Staff were great! The suggestions and tips were very much appreciated and restaurant suggestions excellent! The room was okay. The decor is Europe Chateau, which isn't my first choice being a more modern type decor fan, but certainly pleasant enough. It was spacious with the sofa, chair and king size bed, lots of firm pillows and creature comforts. It wasn't top shelf glam, more like "basic" but adequate. We would not have chosen this property if it wasn't heavily discounted for it was not an outstanding value. The lobby, meeting rooms, pool and property gives one the impression the rooms would have chandeliers etc, but this wasn't the case. Again, basic. Parking was pricey at $30 CD a night, but every property charged similar. No deals to be found there! Overall, we enjoyed our stay!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Easy access to Blackcomb"
Planned on getting a last couple of skiing days in at the end of the season. Originally booked at the Westin but found out that only Blackcomb was open...so, booked the Fairmont instead, primarily to avoid having to walk long distances in ski boots and carrying skis. Worked out great, very convenient access to the lift. Hotel was very nice, room spotless […] and very comfortable. Will stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, but too expensive"
The hotel is clean, relatively well maintained, and has a good customer service. However, there are no complimentary internet, or parking for its price. It is a good hotel for skiers but does not worth its price if you intend to travel there for another reason. "Can't wait to visit again"
The saddest part was leaving the bed. We had the king size bed on the fourth floor. Amazingly comfortable. Concierge was always super helpful. They were able to give accurate directions to anywhere we wanted to go, great restaurant recommendations and overall very friendly. In fact, all staff at the hotel were always friendly and genuinely wanted to […] make sure the guests had a great time. Hotel has a shuttle bus that comes by every 10-15 minutes to take you to the center of the village. The ski in ski out was also super convenient. "The best service I'd ever experienced"
Not only was the hotel beautiful, I just can't get over how kind the staff was. It was as though everyone went out of their way to make sure I had a great time, and they succeeded! I've stayed at many hotels in the Whistler/Blackcomb area and the Fairmont is really the best and most convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Will not stay here again...or any other Fairmont"
This hotel is not worth the excessive prices they charge. Everything was over-priced for the quality offered. The concierge was surly and exceedingly unhelpful, the ski lessons (private) were lackluster and ridiculously priced (10X what they pay the actual instructor, so no wonder they don't give their all), the phone and hair dryer were broken when […] I arrived, the fitness room was more like a closet with minimal equipment, and the "heated" indoor/outdoor pool was not, unless you are a penguin. Furthermore, add $13.95 per day for internet connection in the room, when other, less expensive hotels offered free connections. Also, since the Vancouver airport is 60+ miles away, add $30-$35 per night to park your car, even as you pay outrageous prices for your room, lift passes, rentals, and lessons. And the cherry on top - there was an unidentified creature in my room, although it did leave quickly. It obviously thought the accommodations were over-priced, as well. Upon investigation the hotel staff could find no trace of it, of course. For all the hype this hotel received and as highly rated as it is, it was very disappointing overall, and I would highly suggest that you spend your money elsewhere. "Great Hotel, but very busy"
The hotel was great, albeit with a few exceptions. When we stayed there, they had full occupancy, which meant that the pool and jacuzzi's were overburdened with people and uncomfortable. "The Best First-Class Hotel to stay in Whistler"
This is a fantastic place to stay in Whistler if you want a first-class hotel experience. The hotel is a beautiful and comfortable facility. The staff was exceptional, and really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. We had an injury when we stayed there, and we the hotel staff did what they could to make the situation much better and actually […] enjoyable despite the situation. The Ski-in and Ski out location couldn't be better, the walking distance to Whistler village is perfect. Great location, great service. Very helpful staff. Really fun hot tub area-a must after snowboarding/skiing. Would definitely recommend!Genuine Expedia guest review
Every single person we met was extremely friendly and helpful from the moment we drove up to the moment we drove away. 4 hot tubs, spa, gym, concierge ski service, valets, and the best cocktails we've had in British Columbia. "Nickel and dimed"
$50 extra for pet, $35 extra a day for parking (which is 72 hours for free in Lot 4 and 5 about a 10 minute walk away), $15 extra for WiFi. "Nice but noisy at night"
Hotel is a ten minute walk from the main action in Whistler. As you would expect it is very nicely done in all respects. We ate in the dining room and had an excellent meal with outstanding service. The description was 'The room has a terrace with a Chateau Boulevard view' I don't what they mean by terrace but we had a balconyless window looking out […] onto several pine trees. Not an issue for us as we just wanted a bed for the night. Which brings me to the issue, fundamentally you get a hotel to sleep, if they don't build/maintain it in such a way as to minimise the noise from other people then you don't sleep. We didn't sleep because of the noise being made by the people in the rooms around us. To be fair when we complained about the party in the room to one side of us security came and quietened them for a while. But the other rooms, babies, dogs, and the other stuff people do in their rooms came through loud and clear ( I don't need to draw a picture). I have specifically reviewed the hotels we have stayed in since then, you do hear other people but it i s much more muffled. The MD gives his email address and I will write to him when our holiday is over as the receptionist was clearly unmoved by our views. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
