The room was very nice, there were some minor cosmetic faults in the room I stayed in that irritated me a bit, such as chipped drywall around one of the recessed lights. Overall, however it was a very nice room and I would like to stay there again in the future. I went to the restaurant, Envoy, which is in the hotel and the meal and atmosphere was absolutely fantastic.

I really liked the old-style art deco of the hotel. The rooms are exceptionally large and comfortable, however the bathrooms are small. Our bathroom had a small pedestel sink and the toilet hardly fit in the door. However, there was a separate sink and counter top in the main room that partially made up for it. The staff were very friendly. I used the shuttle service to go downtown and it was very handy. The workout room was small, but had nice equipment. The free parking is in a fenced lot next door to the hotel and allows easy in and out access. Probably the only downside was that it was about 20 blocks from the downtown area. However, it is only a few blocks from Marquestte University.

This hotel was a beautiful, with a 20s art-deco style which included old style elevator with doors that had to be opened manually. Room service food was good, but expensive (which is typical with getting food hand-delivered to your bedside), the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Also, the hotel had a free parking lot and was with in walking distance of the Milwaukee theater, downtown, and marquette university. My only complaint was the service. The hotel had a shuttle which seemed to be booked solid any time we wanted to use it and the staff was a bit rude in helping us find other traveling resources. There seemed to be a disconnect of who was running the show. We spent about 10 minutes waiting at the front desk (just to ask for tooth paste) while a maid stood there text messaging and several other staff members looked around the corner, saw us standing their and instead of asking what we needed, turned the other way... I never like poor service, but the hotel is still worth checking out.

You get more than you pay for. The hotel has lots of character and is very nicely renovated. I chose the hotel because of free parking and free internet, which made it a great deal compared with other upscale Milwaukee hotels. Service was extremely friendly and the food at the restaurant was excellent. The drawback to the hotel is the location, but its a short (5-7 minute) drive to down town and parking in Milwaukee down town was surprisingly easy. They also offer a shuttle, but I didn't use it.

That is a bit over the top. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Free shuttle service was very handy and a huge plus to my non-business traveling guest. I went to this hotel with the expectation that I would be treated well, as this is after all rated as a 4 star hotel. 4 stars mean to me a pleasant staff who are good at customer service and handling issues professionally and quickly. However, I have had better stays at 2-3 star budget hotels. The staff was mostly friendly, although the shuttle lady was rude, abrasive, and treated me like I was 12 years old. The Envoy grill was ok, but the waiter was too busy flirting with the coeds then wanting to mind our table. We sat for 20 minutes with our dirty plates at the table and our glasses empty. I would have bought more drink and food if I was given the opportunity, but the wait staff was more interested in other then the paying customers. Prices were about what you would expect at a hotel of this caliber, but I would expect that I need not hunt down staff to get my check. It was nice that they had a shuttle to area attractions, but we got bumped from our 'reserved' time by a first come first served en mass migration of Brewer fans. What is the point of requiring reservations if they mean nothing? When I asked about this, I was met with an attitude and told to just 'hold my jets' and wait for the next shuttle. Hardly the response I would expect out of a 4 star staff. Now on to the room... The room was very very very small. We had a decent veiw of the street and a slight bit of cityscape, which was nice. The Queen sized bed was squeezed in the 12 X 12 room with a desk, and tv stand which was somewhat claustrophobic. The dresser/tv stad was full of extra linens, so nowhere to put your clothes and there were no closets, not even a rack or any space to hang up suits or dresses. The room was clean, I guess, though the top comforter was stained. The AC only got the room to 74 degrees despite having it set at 68 and the fan on high. Lastly, the TV had me listed as a different guest so no movies, or checkout from there. Calls to the desk left this unresolved. The thing tha

The decor of the hotel was beautiful, the room was large enough for my wife and me, and the bed was very comfortable. Despite being a renovated hotel, I was surprised...and pleased...to have individual climate control in the room that was NOT provided by a noisy window unit. We booked this hotel for one night while we toured the city and went to the State Fair. I wouldn't ever stay here again! First of all it's not in a good area. There is a reason they have a shuttle, you should not be walking around this area after dark. Second, the stains on the carpets were horrible. Thirdly, we shared doors with a group of LOUD party going people. Even after complaining to the hotel staff twice nothing was done. After a "long" night we attempted to shower and realized that the tube did not drain. There was nothing good about this hotel and I don't recommend it to anyone.

We stayed for three nights during a summer getaway in Milwaukee and really enjoyed the hotel. The lobby & our room were very tastefully decorated in a modern deco style and we loved having a mini-fridge in the room to save on eating out every meal (the bathrobes were fun, too!). The hotel is in a slightly sketchy neighborhood, but still pretty close to downtown, and having free parking was a big perk. My only complaint is that our room key didn't work after the first night (and I overheard this happening to another guest), since they must deactivate after a day (easily remedied). Still, we got a great rate on a four-star hotel and would happily stay there again.

The tub was narrow making showering cramped. The toilet was also small...the kind you would see in a regular bathroom stall...lever flush and all. But the worst was the fact the toilet blocked the door. If you were sitting on the toilet and wanted to open/close the door, your knees were blocking it. The sheets seemed old, with some stains on it. They were not pressed and the down comforter was exposed because the duvet cover was on the wrong way and left unbuttoned.
