"Fantastic Place... Impressed"
I have stayed at many places but this is the first review I have ever left. The staff was amazing. Very attentive and helpful. We were in for a wedding and they were top notch. Room and entire hotel for that matter was vintage but clean and had a great feel to it. Reasonably priced and highly recommended!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"My over night stay."
Everything was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel staff was great. Jim the shuttle driver was very friendly and cool to chat with while he drive us around. Ike, the waiter in the restaurant, remembered us a day later. He was very nice and professional. I would definitely stay here againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Second trip to Milwaukee, came for the James Taylor concert. The stay was great. The shuttle service was awesome in helping get to destinations around the city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ambassador - served our purpose well"
Friendly hotel staff looking to accommodate needs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I thought this hotel was fine. The pillows were not good and I should have requested others because before I was leaving, I read something about being able to choose from a variety. So, keep that in mind. It is located close to everything but not the greatest neighborhood. They have a great shuttle service. Room was quiet which is a big thing for me. […] Food is good and not expensive. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Always a joy to stay at The Ambassador."
I've stay at the The Ambassador many times over the last ten years, and each stay has been a delight. By far, one of my favorites hotels in Milwaukee.Genuine Expedia guest review
"lovely hotel in an interesting neighborhood"
We were in Milwaukee for a wedding.Spent two nights at the hotel which met our needs. We asked for early check in and the best view from our hotel room but they were unable to do that so that was disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel, parking is steep."
Everything was great except the night clerk seemed a little overwhelmed/frazzled, and he forced us to give up our license plate number even though we decided to park on the street (due to the fairly outrageous $20 parking fee for the lot). Not a big deal, but kinda weird.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Vintage 20's theme meets modern day style. Classy & elegant it was worth every penny. My only complaints are that the Starbucks closes at 2PM & the "art work" of the naked woman in the mens room needs to go.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"For the money I expected better services"
We did not receive cleaning services on the second day of our stay. We had not put a sign on our door so were surprised to come home late at night and find the room had not been cleaned. We called the front desk but there was no offer of compensation to help mend our feelings or make us feel better about the situation. Room was cleaned on our third […] day with no problem. Enjoyed the Envoy bar each night. Nice it was open late and provided free appetizers on Sunday night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great historical hotel"
Our stay at the Ambassador was lovely. It is great to see a building so well renovated, preserving the historical architecture of Milwaukee! However, be aware that there is a concert hall across the street: the revelers can be disruptive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better than average"
Service was great! Staff wonderful! I expected more updated room. Neighborhood not close to downtown or in a great areaGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice updated hotel with a small room"
The hotel was very nice and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The free shuttle service was great and we had a very pleasant stay. One thing we noticed on the floor map is that all of the rooms are different size and shapes. We were given the smallest room on the floor, which was tiny, but not too cramped. Overall, it was a great experie […] nce. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Stay was great! Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the classic decor. Room could have been dusted a little but everything was clean. Room service was veey prompt.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Older Hotel with Art Deco touches throughout"
I found the Ambassador to be a charming hotel with a great many amenities. The restaurant food was excellent and the bar area was a fun place. The room was smallish, as were most of the features of the hotel, but extremely comfortable. Everything had been upgraded and was more than workable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Stayed in Milwaukee for a couple of days prior to attending Packer game with friends. Hotel was very nicely refurbed property. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with nice bedding. Bath was on small side and could be an issue for ladies with a lot of make up and hair "stuff". Fortunately, I was traveling with a group of guys.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Service sets it apart."
Hotel was old but remodeled so it kept it's cool character but felt clean and fresh. Staff and service were top notch. Some young 20 somethins staying on our floor...was concerned with noise, but hotel has a strict policy for volume after 11pm. So the music stopped at that time. Lounge in hotel was nice, food was OK. I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff were exceptionally polite and helpful. Queen size bed was not very comfortable but the room was big and well- decoratedGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful lobby and bar"
A great place to get away for a weekend. There is plenty to do in Milwaukee.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Home away from home"
This hotel not only had excellent courteous employees, spacious clean rooms, a shuttle service, the food is amazing too. I stayed in 3 hotels while visiting Milwaukee and this by far is my favorite one. I will always use Ambassador hotel when visiting.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Refreshing - not your "Chain" hotel!"
I had booked our hotel on line for Marquette Family weekend, Oct. 2014. The Ambassador is a beautiful 1920 Art Deco Style hotel with many of the original decor. The elevator doors were our favorite piece of working art, they are just so interesting and beautiful. The hotel is well kept and adds to a very unique experience, we have not stayed in a hotel […] like that in a long time. We usually stay in "chain" hotels with a well established reputation with traditional decor... seems boring now. Since this is the one and only Ambassador Hotel... we took a chance and loved how charming it was, and how big the rooms were. The bathrooms were small but that is how they were built in the 20's. My husband and I enjoyed coming back to the hotel after our time at Marquette and stopped in the bar to enjoy a drink, very nice experience. The Brunch was spectacular - it is a sit down style and the wait staff brings you two choices at a time, you can order as many times as you like and the food was always warm, fresh and delishes. The only bad part was you need to make reservations and no one mentioned that when we checked in, that would be good information to share. We asked the hostess how long a wait and she was unsure and said there was one family in front of us. She asked us to wait and then proceeded to seat 3 people without reservation in front of us. I had to then had to ask again and then stand in front of the hostess station until she sat our party of 3. That was very pleasant. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I came to Milwaukee to spend a three-day weekend with my daughter who attends Marquette University. This hotel's location couldn't have been any better. I could walk to the school with no problem.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very clean, but queen rooms were smaller than expected. Walls were thin, but the decor is niceGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"We'll (likely) go back, but we may shop around"
Third or fourth time here; love the vibe of the place; staff is great; shuttle is very convenient. On the down side: $20 a night for parking is way too steep; our room could have used a little bathroom maintenanceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was beautiful, only one small glitch that was rectified immediately.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Art Deco hotel"
Nice place. 4 minutes from downtown. Only complaint: it very flexible on late checkouts ("we charge an extra day after 12 p.m.").Genuine Hotels.com guest review
we were stuck from the Chicago fiasco and our flight was cancelled so instead of continuing to Chicago we stayed in Milwaukee for the night. The hotel is beautiful old time luxury. The lobby and the elevators were a throw back to the 1900's .Staff were friendly and very helpful. we highly recommend it !Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not the best / Not the worst"
Overall this hotel was nice, just a few issues I had with one of the staff members who got annoyed with me because I asked her if she worked at the hotel and if she knew where the person at the front desk was coming back? I seemed to bother her that I was interrupting what she was doing. Also, the bed in my room was terrible. Very lumpy my back is still […] killing me and I usually don't have issue with my back. If you like to work out the fitness center is not one to brag about not very clean either. Be prepared to pay for everything including $20 for parking each day. Extremely good Service, Extremely friendly and helpfull staff, Incredible location, Excellent eestaurant.Genuine Expedia guest review
We were greeted by an exceptional friendly staff – the hotel is old but very well cared for, if fact, it was charming. The downside is, the location of the hotel is not in the best area – and the shuttle service was not dependable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and nice hotel. Love the architecture."
I usually stay in the downtown area but the distance was not a problem. Clean and nicely updated room.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is very nicely remodeled with modern conveniences but the original art deco architecture was kept intact. My only complaint is that the tub in our room did not drain effectively. By the time I finished a shower, there was ankle deep water in the tub. The king size bed was comfortable, the room was large and had a nice sitting area. The restaurant […] and bar were both good. The neighborhood was a little sketchy. I wouldn't have felt comfortable walking alone in the area. Overall, a nice hotel and I would definitely go back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Slow draining bathtub"
A few friends and I stayed here for my bachelor party. Pros: the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the place was easy to find. Cons: The tub drain was clogged and drained very slowly. I didn't bother reporting to maintenance since we were only staying a couple nights and didn't want someone in the room with our belongings […] when we were gone. Also, even though our booking led me to believe a fridge was in the room, it was actually an extra $20 to have a fridge for our stay. Instead, we dumped ice in one of the sinks to keep our beverages cold. Parking is $20/night, but don't park in the structure until you're actual parking overnight since apparently you're charged $20 each time you leave. Park in the surface lot if you're just coming/going during the day. The neighborhood is somewhat sketchy. They don't offer roll-away beds or cots for extra people. Overall: this is a nice hotel that puts you somewhat close to downtown (not walking distance). It's pretty expensive all things considered, so next time I'll find somewhere a little closer to downtown or in a better area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
comfortable rooms; nice housekeeping staff; coffee shop hours should be expanded... from 6:30a-2:30pm to 6am-4pm perhaps... I think it's ridiculous that they charge for parking... I mean, the hotel is not 'downtown'; in fact, it's on the edge of a rough side of town. Dinner Server Jae was attentive, knowledgeable, personable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had an enjoyable weekend in Milwaukee. Make sure to try out the neighborhoods as well as downtown. I will most certainly coming back and plan to stay at the Ambassador as well.Genuine Expedia guest review
