"Right where we needed it to be."
We got what we paid for. A clean room with comfortable bed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was not impressed that there was no staff in the hotel after 11 pm especially when there was a rave party happening less than a block away which spilled over into the hotel after midnight.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great service, comfortable room, nice tv, lounge, etc... Was in town for a Brewer game & concert. Also went to the Harley Davidson museum. The hotel is in a great location for all of it!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Reasonable, Close to my destination and clean. Room was comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Decent hotel for a short stay but Cable connection kept cutting out and the complimentary breakfast was unexciting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for students visiting Marquette"
Great location for my presentation at Marquette University. I was able to take free shuttle service which was nice since parking on campus can be a hassle. They had free wifi and parking which was also convenient. I was there during the week so it was nice and quiet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Awesome location to experience downtown Milwaukee!"
Free downtown shuttle was great, walking distance to the Rave was awesome. Elevator was very slow. Good hospitality!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Across the street from The Rave"
We needed a place to spend the night after going to a concert at The Rave. If all you need is a basic motel room, this is relatively inexpensive and clean. If you want more service and amenities the Ambassador Hotel (next door) is more expensive but really nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No pool, bad breakfast"
Breakfast bar needs work. It was horrible and nothing good for you. Needs a pool!Genuine Expedia guest review
"A little worn; no power got upgrade across street"
We arrived after midnight for a prospective student campus visit to Marquette. The Ambassador Inn's front desk was closed for the night, so we had to go across the street to the Ambassador Hotel to check in. Found it a "70's style" place with a spiral stair case or a tiny elevator to get to the upper floors. We tiredly headed for bed. In the morning, […] we headed down for the "Continental Breakfast" in the breakfast room on the first floor and found it a little strange: a counter with food and beverages, a small table and a couple of chairs, and a place at a counter at a window looking at the front door. Trash was piled high on the trash can. As we were finishing, an employee came in, saw the mess, swore a little, and told the 4 guests to close the door behind us when we left; breakfast was ending in 10 minutes! When we returned in the afternoon after our campus visit, there was a very spotty power outage hitting the area. The Ambassador Inn had no power; the Ambassador Hotel did. When we entered they told us that if power wasn't restored by the time it was getting dark, they would move us across the street. It wasn't fun in a darkened room with no TV, no WiFi and no lights in the bathroom, but true to their word they moved us to a very nice room in the big hotel across the street for the night. "Ambassador Hotel's younger brother, the Inn"
I LOVE the hotel. The Inn, the partner location across the street is a cheap alternative to the more expensive hotel. The Inn could use a little paint, a little TLC above the ground the floor. But it serves it's purpose for a guy staying overnight after attending some basketball games. But if I brought my wife and family, I'd only stay in the hotel, […] not the Inn. "Comfortable and affordable"
It's not as beautiful and historic as its sister hotel across the street, but it's clean and comfortable with good service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Once again, we red-eyed to Milwaukee and were able to check-in at 9:30AM. Hotel appeared to be full as it was extra noisy. Perhaps it was the combination long week-end & a parent's weekend at MU.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was dirty! Smelled like pot!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Red Roof Inn Offers More For Half The Price"
I was amazed that a hotel for $88 or so, was so incredibly dark inside with just a couple dim lamps. And the biggest surprise other than the poor condition of the hallways, is the room has nothing but a $5 clock without even a radio! I'll pass on the Inn again, although I had breakfast in the hotel across the street and that might be an interesting […] option. Oh, and I had to insist on a note stating that my room smelled of smoke when I checked in since they claim to ding you $250 if you smoke in your room, and somehow I could see that coming. "Stay at Ambassador Inn, wisconsin"
We stayed in the hotel for last month on weekly basis JUST because this was the nearest and was in our budget. But because of continuous issues, we have to vacate this week and will use another hotel for rest of the month.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good place to stay for a Rave show"
This hotel is nice and minimal. Across the street is the main hotel with a bar and cafe. We wanted a place close to the Rave since we were going there for a concert. For this it was perfect.Genuine Expedia guest review
We have to stay because this is nearest to our visiting office location and comes in budget but otherwise given a choice, we will rather look for another hotel for sure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great and Affordable Hotel"
I stayed at the Ambassador Inn, which is directly across the street from the Ambassador Hotel. Staying at the Inn gives you all the perks that staying at the Hotel offers, such as pool, weight room, and best of all, a free shuttle service to anywhere you want to go downtown. The shuttle is great if you don't like driving, or if you know you will be […] drinking a lot. The hotel bar at the Hotel is very nice too, especially at happy hour. The Inn where I stayed was very comfortable with a nice large flat-screen tv. It was very clean and had a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. I've stayed here twice and I highly recommend this place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed in the hotel for five days and were looking for a good price because my husband had a training session in downtown Milwaukee and we were footing the bill for the training and the travel. The hotel staff were willing to help anytime we asked. They knew the area attractions and they showed great pride in their city. A few blocks away is the […] Pabst Mansion and they give a great tour. The shuttle across the street at the Ambassador Hotel was prompt and reliable. True, the breakfast was mostly cereal, but that was fine. Bring your own raisins and the flakes are great. "Perfect place to stay after a night at the Rave"
As always, I love staying here whenever I catch a show at the Rave/Eagles Ballroom. You cannot beat the convenience. The only gripe I have is the continental breakfast. It's pretty slim on the pickings, but it's better than nothing. This time around I asked the front desk what time it was as I was checking in and was told 6:30-10. However, I went down […] at 9:15 and it was closed. The front desk clerk was kind of rude and begrudgingly reopened the room. You're in the hospitality industry. Try to be more hospitable. Good location. The toilet was coming around the bottom and not attached very well. They never came the second day to turn down our beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Concert at the Rave"
Stayed here over night because we were going to a concert at the Rave which is close by; within walking distance, less than a block. It's an older hotel/building. So structurally there's nothing to be done about the room size (uless tear down & rebuild newer building). It could use a few cosmetic updates, touch up on painting, replacing carpeting, revamp […] bathroom, etc. to bring it back to it's orig. grandour. But if it's used mostly for concert folks I understand the reluctance on spending $$ to fix it up. (we did hear some roudy folks during the night) But, it suited our purposes. Will definately come back next time we go to the Rave again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Huge, comfortable double beds. Clean bathroom. Overall , it was a pretty nice stay !Genuine Hotels.com guest review
With the exception of horrible lighting in the room and the "free breakfast" being non exsistent this was a good hotel for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No Breakfast at 9am on a Saturday!"
A little upset that at 9am all the breakfast was gone and the hotel staff said, "we don't fill it up." This was at 9am on Saturday morning. No OJ, no milk only two dried up bagels in a bag were left. Lots of folks were still trying to get some toast or cereal but the staff 'doesn't fill anything up' That is unacceptable!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ambassador Inn, Milwaukee"
Good stay. The room was very clean and parking was great the only drawback is hving to keycard your way in to the hotel after 8 pm. If you don't have your card you don't get in.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect after concerts @ The Rave/Eagles Ballroom"
Went to a show at The Rave/Eagles Ballroom down the block. It was very convenient to stumble out and walk into the hotel. It saved on cab fare and I would stay there again. Almost everyone in the hotel also went to the show so it was a good experience meeting other fans before and after the concert.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Less than I expected"
Issues with checking my son into his room after I arrived even though I set it up with the desk clerk when I arrived. No drinking glasses in room. Temp was very cold. My son and his wife were kept awake by partiers across the hall until after 4 am.Genuine Expedia guest review
Heat did not work on first day, arrived late - went to bed. On second day, asked for repair, which was done. On third day, heat again did not work, was moved to another room which was fine. Not soundproof, could easily hear guests in adjoining room. Shuttle service every hour on half hour was helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Place for a Night or 2"
This is a perfect place if you are looking for a no frills cheap hotel. We chose this place because it is right next door to a small concert venue, "The Rave", and we were seeing a show there that night. Its literally within walking distance to the venue, and there is a McDonalds, Taco Bell, and Michaels Family Restaurant in the vicinity. I dislike […] fast food chains so we ate at Michaels and found it to be quite nice. The hotel itself was quite clean, the rooms were adequate and comfortable, and the staff that greeted us were very nice and friendly. There was a larger Ambassador Hotel across the street that had a lounge and a restaurant. We had a drink in the lounge, but it was quite busy and took forever to get served, and did not try the restaurant. The hotel is quite a way from the downtown area of Milwaukee, but they did offer a shuttle to get back and forth. Definitely a good place just to sleep, for a night or 2. Would be perfect for those coming into town to visit Marquette University, as it is literally walking distance to the campus. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Ambassador Inn a great value"
Older style Inn was a great value. Staff were all so pleasant and eager to help with whatever we needed. The beds were some of the best I have ever slept in. Some say the area is sketchy, but with a free shuttle nobody should worry. We had no problems out at night.Genuine Expedia guest review
I like the hotel second time i get reservations there.Genuine Expedia guest review
Had a very dated look/feel on the inside that I was not expecting based on pictures of the outside. Looks like it hasnt been updated since the 60's or 70's. But, the hotel staff was very friendly and the shuttle service was pretty convenient. Not a bad room for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed at the location across the street (Ambassador Inn at Marquette) which I believe is the "cheaper" side. The rooms were pretty average, but for the price it was a great deal! Included free parking and free shuttle service anywhere to/and from downtown Milwaukee until Midnight. Would certainly stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for a short stay!!"
Stayed at The Ambassador Inn this past summer and enjoyed it. Smaller and less fancy than the main hotel, but they offer similar amenities for such a great value. Bedding and towels are of higher quality, and the rooms have been updated with nice fixtures and nice counter tops. The neighborhood is a tad sketchy, but overall a good place to stay less […] than two miles from downtown. The bar/lounge at the main hotel is upscale and the lobby area is attractive. Free shuttle to downtown is another perk! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Worst breakfast I've ever seen"
I went down for their breakfast, and this is LITERALLY all that was there: 2 prepackaged bagels in fridge, cereal with no milk, and packets of plain oatmeal, creamer/honey packets. I used the coffee machine water to make a bowl of plain oatmeal and squeezed some honey inside. Got a soda on the way back up to my room. Ridiculous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
very excellent guest services I was very pleased. (best wishes) Evangelist,WilliamsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great bang for the buck"
It's pointless to compare this to an upscale hotel, since it does not demand an upscale premium. I based my rating on value for the dollar. The hotel common areas are pretty aged, but the rooms are in good shape. I got there late and left early, so I didn't do much other than watch some TV and sleep, but I didn't have any problems. The continental breakfast […] is pretty shabby. The options were some free vending machine danishes/donuts, beverages, cereal and a bagel. Would have been nice to see some fruit or some toaster waffles, but as I said, overall good value for what I paid (which was less than half of the Ambassador Hotel across the street). "a place to sleep"
No breakfast but cereal, charged extra fees after leaving hotel...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel had poor service, it was very unclean and smelt old and musty. There was old food dried on the bed. The building needed renovations badly. There really isnt anything good to say about it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is in an extremely horrible neiborhood. Very scary. The continental breakfast was a joke. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ambassador Inn in Milwaukee - plesant surprise"
The hotel is nice. Does not impress from the outside, and the lobby could be a little more attractive. But the room was very nice and comfortable. The sister hotel across the street is a nice Art Deco style from the 1920s. Only the energy efficient light bulbs take away from the Deco light fixtures. Just west of Marquette Univ. a few blocks, but the […] area starts to get sketchy around the hotels. I would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not so much"
The room was not clean, ha food on the floor and had an odor. My wife walked across the street to the main hotel and booked a room with only the upgrade charge which turned out to be the best thing we could have done. BEautiful, clean, warm, pleasing and worth the cost. And they were pet friendly too.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was concerned about this hotel when I first pulled into the parking lot. However, the inside of the hotel was a wonderful art deco. My room was large and pleasant. I would certainly stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Parent's Weekend @ MU"
On a very busy Parent's Weekend, we were able to check in @ 9:30AM ( we took the red-eye). Not only that but we were allowed to change rooms as we had one of the only two rooms in the Inn that had no closets. We've stayed at both the Hotel & the Inn a few times and both offer great valueGenuine Hotels.com guest review
