Property could use some updating - furniture and bedding. Towels were nice. Could use some more consciences housekeepers. Expensive for area. Great golf course, though expensive for community.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent, serene location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms were large and clean however laid out rather poorly. Since this is a golf resort and it was off season there was hardly any staff around the building. Restaurant wait staff at dinner was not great. Son has food allergies and the staff was less then helpful with suggestions and information. Hotel main areas were very nice,Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent hotel to relax"
I thought the Hotel served our purpose. The rooms were a bit small but comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and lunch in the grill was very good and the portions were large. the brunch looked tasty but we left before it started. The Bar is a great place to hang out eat dinner and watch sports. The pours and prices […] were excellent The gym room and spa was great. I wish we were there in nicer weather so could take advantage of the outdoor activities. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful character to the Inn."
Excellent and friendly service. We called last minute and they accommodated us immediately. Super courteous and very safe and private grounds.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient, regal location"
Although we had to check in at the golf club, we loved the peace and beauty of the Bertram Inn. The hotel was ideally located in a gated community that complemented its first-class environment. The 3rd night we were treated to party goers at a wedding held in the building who woke us from time to time but we knew it was a possibility. We hope to enjoy […] their first-class restaurant on our next stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A GEM of a Hotel"
When staying at the Inn be sure to dine onsite at one of the fabulous restaurants the club has to offer. Truly amazing!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was very nice, staff was incredible. Only two issues I had was they had a pool party for the people that live in the area, and was unavailable for people staying at the hotel after 4 PM.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful grounds, very high end area!!"
Lovely environmentGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My friends and I stayed at this hotel for one night since it was close to the CAK airport and the only hotel with an opening. The view from our room was gorgeous and the beds were comfortable. We didn't have a chance to visit the amazing pool but would have if we had more time. I would definitely visit again with my husband!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The grounds are beautiful. Rooms need help."
The rooms definately leave somethinbg to be desired. They have not been updated in the past 20-30 years. Contractor grade carpet and outdated colors. The beds are very old and lumpy. After drivinf up the drive and seeing the grounds the rooms were a definate let down.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Pro Football HOF Trip"
The Hotel was very clean and very accessible. Compared to the other hotels in the area, this property was by far the best. The staff was very accommodating to any changes or additions we made. Wont be staying anywhere else when visiting the area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Beautiful homes and golf course surround this prestigious hotel. Not many hotels are left that you can open your door with an actual key. Found that really nostalgic. The rooms were very neat and comfortable. Would stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice option in Canton, Ohio"
Was not familiar with this hotel prior to booking, but was very pleased when arrived. Beautiful grounds and and very nice and interesting hotel (it is a former seminary). Very clean, free internet, very comfortable and large room, beautiful pool area-- just a very nice place to stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A quiet respite."
Very cool castle like experience. Beautiful surroundings. Quiet. Very pleasant staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"curious, but disappointed"
had hoped for a more up to date facility, considering the time the place had been open; room needs more electric plugs; more lighting (especially in bathroom; very dim); neither pool nor gym were available; staff okGenuine Expedia guest review
Inn very over rated; location wonderful (on old seminary property; very secure); rooms clean, neat, but few electric outlets; bathroom & tub/shower dark; had to be very careful; played a round of golf on the Glenmoor course (a Nicklaus design); early in season, but still not the quality of maintainence I'd expect (was in 3 of the many sand traps & none […] had been maintained for awhile), yet there was no discount on fee. "Nice club but rooms poor"
09/29/14 Philip S Victoria, Texas, United States
The country club is classic and pretty. The rooms, however, are very average at best. During our recent trip to Ohio we stayed two nights at a Comfort Suites in Springfield, Ohio and two nights here. The room at the Comfort Suites was vastly superior. The room was elegant but dark. The bed was WAY WAY too soft, almost squishy. The old style tub and shower had a very hard time draining. After a couple minutes showering we were standing in ankle-deep water. The WiFi was VERY poor, though I admit getting WiFi to work in old buildings is a challenge. If I were to go another event held at The Glenmoor I would stay at a newer hotel by Belden Village Mall and just drive the five minutes to the Club.
"Smells like poop"
Don't know what else to say, as soon as we got off elevator at 5:00, smelled like sewer. Came back to room at midnight , still smells like poop, called desk, no response, maintenance off til Monday, pick a comfort inn this place is gross
"Very classic hotel - looks to be updated but we have some room issues"
08/18/14 vacation_addict_Ohio Ohio
It's an old seminary building and it and grounds are beautiful. It is the Glenmoor Country Club - so the maps and signs will show that. The building is very impressive. Getting to it is a bit off-putting because you have to go thru the security gate of Glenmoor. Once you are checked in at the hotel, then your room key is your gate pass. The pool area looked wonderful (we didn't get to use it). They could use a few more directional signs for how to get from the hotel wing to the restaurants in the club wing. (there are no signs that we could find). We literally stumbled onto the Scot's Grille for breakfast. And it was wonderful. The prices were very reasonable and the service and food were excellent. You can only eat there if you are a hotel guest or a Club member, so our hope of going back for breakfast some weekend was dashed. We had apple pancakes (3 large cakes with thin apple slices baked in) and an omelette which was huge and came with potato and toast. Each was under $10. Our room was a standard queen and it was very spacious in an odd layout (it was a long and skinny room) and looked to be newly updated. Very clean, new carpet. But there was only the desk chair to sit in. It would have been nice to have an arm chair or two. The huge problem with our room was the mechanicals. Everything was exceedingly loud. The bathroom fan sounded like a jet engine. And I hope the A/C unit was broken: it started with a sonic boom and at the same time the wall shook (and it actually shook the bed), then the fan kicked on and ran very loudly and rattling. Needless to say since it kicked on about every hour all night, no one got any sleep. We would go back if we could be sure that we might actually be able to get some sleep.
"Relaxing girls getaway"
08/10/14 Sarah K Cleveland, Ohio
We stayed here for the weekend to celebrate my sisters 40th birthday. The property was beautiful. The development it is in is a gated community and it is surrounded by a golf course. We took advantage of many of the amenities on the property. We spent the day at the pool on Saturday. It has an area for adults only. The service was prompt and efficient. We got my sister an hour massage and she said it was amazing. We ate dinner at Black Heath on the property. Beautiful atmosphere. Great for a romantic dinner or with friends. We were the only ones there (there was a wedding and a party for members going on) so if you are looking for a place that is hopping with people I wouldn't suggest here. The food was good, service was excellent. Would give 4 stars for restaurant. If you are looking for nice peaceful getaway that makes you feel miles away from the real world this is the place!
"The amenities were worth the small additional cost"
07/16/14 Pkjewell Mason, Ohio
Other hotels in the area were more reasonable on rate, but getting a pool for the kids was going to be key for our stay in Canton. They all enjoyed it and being able to have food and beverage served made it even more enjoyable. The service was fantastic! Only drawback was that the fee for using the pool was not disclosed. We were required to pay guest fees of $10 each to use the pool. While it was worth it, that could be a crippling effect depending on how many swimmers you have going. Rooms were large, clean and updated. Restaurant options from casual to formal. The grounds were beautiful!
"Awful Customer Service"
06/29/14 apsbuckeye Atlanta
I attended a wedding here two weeks ago and stayed on the property. During the reception, I watched as an employee stole money ($100+ cash) out of my purse; several other guests reported money missing as well. Despite calling the police and filing a report, no one on the property did anything about the issue. Upon checkout the next morning, I was informed that there wasn't anything anyone could do. Not only was I not compensated for the loss of money, no one at the property seemed to be bothered by the fact that theft occurred on their premises. To add insult to injury, I have called Olivia in guest services and left voicemails four separate times since the wedding on 06/14 and not once has she bothered to return my call - terrible customer service and a pathetic excuse for a venue, especially one at which just received the business of a wedding and reception. Not only will I never return, I certainly will make sure that anyone I know considering going here or using this venue knows how incompetent and unresponsive the staff is. This place and the staff are so awful it's a joke.
"Very Quiet Hotel"
06/12/14 kimerinc Utah
This is a very quiet hotel with STUNNING grounds and surrounding area. The pool was beautiful, the front desk was very nice and the guards at the gate are diligent. Because of its storied past, the windows are a little small, but understandable. The rooms could use a refresh. I think it has been a while. It was so peaceful that if quiet is important to you, this is a great hotel. I wish we could have used the spa. We were visiting friends who kept us hopping. We had a 2 bedroom suite, so it was very spacious.

We lived in Canton 14 years ago when Glenmoor was converted from a seminary to a Country Club. It is an elegant setting among beautiful homes on the manicured golf course. The spa is excellent with massage, beauty salon, classes, machines, free weights, and tennis right on the premises. Food was well prepared. We came back to town for the first time and decided to stay here because we had great memories of how special it is. However, the rooms have not been updated. The furnishings are tired, the bed is WAY too soft. Plumbing barely works. For the price of the room and the located at Glenmoor Country Club, I expected it to be much more opulent. A disappointment.
"Nice weekend getaway"
11/19/13 rayjay80 Youngstown, Ohio
My wife and I stayed one night for a quick weekend getaway. Due to the time of year, there were only a couple other rooms occupied. So the hotel was very quiet. The rooms as you see in the pictures are nice, but not modern or special. But they are very clean and well maintained. The spa was very nice to spend some time in relaxing in the sauna and jacuzzi. All the staff in the hotel, gym, and spa that we met were very friendly and helpful. However, the best feature for us was their restaurant, Black Heath. It was fantastic. One of the best fine dining experiences in a long time. Both the service and food were top notch. And who still serves sorbet before the main course anymore. A rare throwback to classic fine dining. So go for the dining even if you don't stay the night.

I just stayed overnight here with my husband for a night away from children and it was lovely. It is located in a beautiful setting with historic interest. Building was very unique and the hotel was nice. The rooms were clean with what looked like new paint and carpet. Very well kept up but not totally modern. I would definitely stay here again!! Overall a very nice experience.
