The Belvedere Hotel - New York

Amazing, executive rooms are 5 star quality and general rooms are general. Overall, service from hotel staff was exceptional. Friendly and personable.

Hotel room was fine, although our requested room on the 15th floor was not ready at 2pm. Therefore, we did not have the view that we planned. Also, the elevators were small and relatively slow, but typical of an older building - so in that case, we were lucky to be on a lower floor. The water seal of the shower head was leaky. Older establishment on a not too noisy cross street where in particular 49th, 48th streets & 8 / 9th Avenues offer some good dining / drinking and entertainment choices. Location overall was great. Windows would open ..yea, but also ya heard a lot of the New York buzz. Nothing much modernized, but newer tile flooring in suite entrance and bath room […] was clean, smooth and extremely slick. (be careful) .. Had to pay for local calls and internet,seemed petty. Desk staff were a mixed bag with some deferring to concierge when same was no longer available? I stayed in the King Deluxe suite, which was a fantastic price for the time of year (New Years). The room was not only clean and comfy but it was very modern and the bathroom (one of the first places I look when checking in to a hotel) was very new and spotless. The service was fantastic, valet was prompt and bags were very well taken care of. The staff […] was very friendly, accomodating and quick to answer any questions. I did have a few issues come up (my wifi was not working properly, the heat in the room stopped working) but both issues were resolved in a timely manner. The breakfast was good but nothing special for the price ($15/person for continental, $20 for deluxe). I did notice that some of the lower floors were not as up modern and smelled more grungy (could be because they are the smoking floors) but I cannot comment on the look of those rooms. The hotel itself is a block and a half from Times Sq which made it VERY easy to get to all the must see sites. There are many great restaurants and attractions in the area. Read more

The Belvedere Hotel is a beautiful hidden gem located very close to the must-see sights and attractions of New York. The hotel is located very close to mass transit systems such as buses, and subways - virtually enabling you to go anywhere in New York. This hotel is in a decent neighbourhood and only a couple of blocks from Times Square. You cannot beat the location. Room was clean and comfortable. But take note: there is no restaurant or bar in this hotel. But it was a good base for our touring.

This hotel which is in the heart of the theatre district features rooms which are "huge" by NY standards. Staff are friendly and helpful. Inexpensive parking is available on the next street north. Will be visiting here again for sure!

Location was excellent, conveniently located close to theaters and major mid-town attractions. We like to walk - half hour to central park and museums, less to empire state building, 5th avenue, Grand Central. Stayed here twice, both times right after new years. Perfect location, nicely done rooms and a great price. Very close to Times Square, restaurants, and theatre. Maybe the only complaint, a bit noisy, street noise and other rooms. I would stay again

It wasn't a bad hotel or anything, but it needs updating, big time. The rooms and especially the bathrooms are pretty crusty. I'm also not a fan of mid-town especially, so I wouldn't book in the area again, but even if I did, it wouldn't be at that hotel. The staff are friendly and efficient, but the place itself was "meh".

The Hotel was conmvenient to area but expected a little more for the rate paid. Otherwise, Concierge very helpful to directing to services and making arrangments. Lacking for 'In-Hotel' amenities for food - restaurant/lounge.. Expected more than plastic and paper cups in the room for the rate.. I'd say a 3.0 out of a potential 5.

Absolutely fantastic hotel for location and cleanliness... Loved the kitchenette as well... Great experience all round... Will definitely stay there again!!!

This hotel was wonderful. It was close to everything that we could walk and close to the subway. We would recommend this hotel.

Hotel well located near Times Square. King size bed, room very clean. Has obviously been remodelled inside with modern bath, etc. We were unable to fully close one of the windows, and as this was late November, it was a bit of a nuisance.

We were very happy with our stay at this hotel.the location was second to none, especially if you enjoy theatre and dining! I was a little disappointed at the lack of knowledge offered by the concierge as far as subway runs to Brooklyn, and locations of TKTS booths,as well as finding us a way to get to Metlife Stadium for the Jets game. Very close to everything most would want to see in NYC. Very friendly staff... the only thing I didnt appreciate was the phone charge I got at the end of my stay. There was nothing on the phone saying I would be charged, and I had a calling card. I think it should have been advertised. Other than that there are no complaints. Very nice location.

2 bokcs from Tim es Square! Close enough to be where the action is, but removed enough, that you have peace & quite! The hotel rooms were renovated & are exactly is shown on th ewen site. All aspects of the hotel were spice & span!

Great location! Close to some decent restaurants, times square and transportation when you don't want to walk. Friendly staff! Well worth the price.

Great Hotel - Executive Double Room was tastefully decorated, clean, quiet, roomy, comfortable beds, and staff were friendly and helpful. Location is close to Times Square, but situated on a street far enough away from the hustle and bustle to relax when you need to.

The Belvedere is a great hotel in a great location. It is on a quiet street but steps to 8th Avenue and Times Sq. It is great if you want to see plays at night or take advantage of the Gray Line Tours because there office is right around the corner and the buses leave from there also. You can walk to Central Park, Lincoln Centre and also south to Macy's […] and most other sites in Midtown. The only negative to the hotel is the elevators. They are painfully slow. Read more

Great value, great proximity to visit all main sights

Just wanted to write a quick review about the Belvedere Hotel. I very much enjoyed my stay at this hotel because it was very well situated, clean and good value for money. Thanks to all the staff who were all very professional and friendly.

The hotel was not up to standards as per the online advertising and the room was in much needed repair. Our view was old air conditioners/heating vents. The worst part was the bed. We had to get housekeeping to add extra padding to compensate for the old curved beds that were very uncomfortable. This hotel was designed with a basic art deco style in mind and very refreshing. All the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and went out of their way to assist and ensure we were satisfied. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying with an infant. They quickly brought up an infant bed, complete with bottom sheet (over the mattress) and bumpers […] (for those that want/need them) and called up to ensure it had been delivered! (a first in my experience). The room was well kept and convienient for those with children (I had a double/double with kitchenette). The location is wonderful, only a short 5 minute or less walk to Times Square for all the action, and there is a grocery store just a block away on 8th Av at 49th. We were very satisfied with our overall experience and would recommend this hotel to anyone (as we already have and play to return to). Read more

The Belevedere is a great hotel that is in the middle of everything, close to many subway stops without the hustle and bustle of a main street. An excellent stay

The Belvedere had two features that made it an excellent choice. The first was its fabulous location, particularly if you are interested inattending the theatre. The second was the kitchenette in the room - having a microwave and small fridge made our stay more comfortable. The one disadvantage is that there is no restaurant (except for breakfast), […] so there is no room service, and no bar that are part of hte hotel. While there are many restaurants in very close proximity, it is often desirable to have food and bar facilities that are at the same location, and I missed these conveniences. We had an amazing stay at the Belvedere. We booked it based on the remarks from other previous guests. Our room was clean, comfortable, and roomier than I had expected. The microwave, refridgerator area lends some more space for counter and storage. I appreciated the corner room with two windows immensley. The staff were courteous and helpful. We did […] pay wifi. They have a three day $7 per day pkg. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms dated but clean and adequate. Location is fantastic, just two blocks from Broadway and Timesquare action. Also, $1 pizza slice around the corner. Great restaurants in either direction. I have a BIG THANK YOU to the room attendant. I left my 1.5 carat diamond wedding and engagement ring in the safe and when I called, they had it. I drove back from NJ to pick it up. They allowed me to park in the front to pick it up. SOOOO Thankful!!! The ground floor is like walking back in time. Very artful and NYC like. I will definately return to the Belvedere!! Read more

My stay was late Feb. Radiators would start to rattle about 2 am every night for a duration of 10-20 mins. Once the noise stop, maybe a good night sleep. Don't count on it. Beds are worn out, lumpy and sheet starched so much you will soon start to itch. At the very least you are up with the city that never sleeps.

The Belvedere is is a lovely Art Deco property undergoing renovations which are now going on the 14th floor from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. It is conveniently located on the corner of 8th and 9th avenues, within walking distance to Times Square/Broadway and a plethora of little, not overly expensive, but very good restaurants on the 9th avenue. While our […] two double beds room was clean and large (by NY standards), it is yet to be renovated. We arrived earlier than the hotel's late 4:00 PM standard check-in time, and did not want to wait for our requested in advance, renovated room. We were pleased nontheless. The little kitchenette area with a microwave enabled us to eat our breakfast and have our coffee/tea at the hotel. The housekeeping service was prompt and cordial. We asked for cutlery and plastic dishes. We also requested extra towels, blankets and the bedspreads removed. The 9:00 -5:00 o'clock concierge was great. He double-checked our restaurant reservations. He also organized our LaGuardia airport shuttle service. It cost us $21.00/pp tax and tip in. He said that next time we can call the hotel in advance and they will ensure that the same shuttle service picks-us up. Everybody in NY City we have met seems to know the hotel and think well of it. Now we do too. We recommend the Belvedere Hotel for pleasure, or business. Bear in mind that Wi-Fi Internet is $9.00/day extra. However, Times Square is a free Wi-Fi zone. Read more

We stayed at the Belvedere for the first time in October, 2010. It was clean, comfortable and the staff, especially the concierge were excellent. He would recommend this hotel and would stay here again. It is very well situated near Times Square, Restaurant Row, many museums and Central Park. Access to the subway and buses was excellent. Easy walking […] distance to most theatres as well. The room was clean and comfortable. We had 2 double beds (for 3 of us). Even with 3 in the room, there was still enough space. The bathroom was a little tight, but the refridgerator and microwave were a good idea even if we didn't use them. The Concierge (both of them) were very helpful and knowledgeable. This hotel is in a great location although the hotel, itself doesn't have a lot going for it. We were in a double room, the beds were ridiculously squeaky everytime one of us rolled over. You can't even get a free news channel on TV. The only free tv is a few episodes of Fashion Television and some exercise videos. I understand it's a discounted hotel […] but still think they could give you a news channel. If you're a big person, you many have problems in the bathroom - when you sit on the toilet, your knees touch the door! Read more

Good prices, nice rooms, excellent location. Bathrooms a little small but overall we had a lovely experience. Microwave and refrigerator were very convenient and cut down on costs of meals.

The hotel staff were friendly and polite and always took their time to answer all our questions. Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Belvedere Hotel in NYC. This was a first time visit to NYC. Loved it. It was walking distance to Time's Square and the Rockefellar Center and theaters. It is also in a good area to walk to other must-see places. There were restaurants nearby, but unfortunately not one at the hotel. They have a cafe for breakfast […] only and we did not use this. We did however use the book in the room to order in on our last night. That was a good idea as the food was good and not too pricey. As we arrived early in the afternoon we had to wait for our room, but that was not a big deal as we walked around to explore the area and were surprised to walk only two blocks to Times Square. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room we were in was a good size, with 2 double beds. We also made good use of the fridge in the room and the microwave. We would not hesitate to stay at the Belevdere Hotel on our next visit to NYC. Thanks for making our first trip to NYC an enjoyable one. Read more

Good localisation but overprized.

Clean, nice and comfortable. We had an executive room. Breakfast was good, though a little expensive. I will stay at the same hotel when I go back to NY

My daughter and I stayed here for a week in May. We loved the location as it was close to the theatres and Restaurant Row. Our room with 2 double beds was clean, relatively spacious (by NY standards) and best of all, quiet. The front desk staff were not overly friendly often too busy talking to each other, making us wait to ask our questions. The bathroom […] was small but the shower had good water pressure. The beds were hard as were the pillows but we requested down and got them after 2 days. All in all we were pleased with this hotel. We saved money booking through hotels.ca and would definately use them again. Read more
