"Travel Inn Hotel"Reviewed by Brid of "Ireland" on Feb 9, 2012
It's a small cheap and cheerful hotel not too far from Times Squares, Porth Authority Bus Station and even closer to Hells Kitchen. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms had everything you would need. I particularly liked the High Def Flat screen TV along with fridge and microwave. The decor of the hotel is a little dated but that wouldn't deter me from staying there again. Room service wasn't the best as they order form outside but still it was better then none at all. Over all I was happy with my stay there and I found it a comfortable safe place to lay my head down each night.
"Its in midtown close to everything..."Reviewed by Rui of "Ireland" on Feb 9, 2012
The location is great, the rooms are a bit small but very clean and functional, if you're tidy there's room for everything...the little cafe in the lounge is great as well. First i rented a room with shared bathroom and i was a little afraid but actually it was alright, big bathroom, very clean, music on and a great shower! The second time i got a room with a bathroom, they're a bit bigger and very comfortable
"friendliness of staff"Reviewed by Jacqueline of "Brussels, Belgium" on Feb 8, 2012
We spent 4 nights in the Hampton Inn at Chelsea and loved it. The staff is extremely friendly and I did not feel like being in those big hotel chains, though it offered every convienience of them. The room was well equipped, and when I mentioned that I would need a fridge, they brought me one immediately. Breakfast was good . I would certainely go back to this hotel for my next stay in NY.
"Great stay at Grand Union"Reviewed by David of "Ireland" on Feb 8, 2012
The location is excellent, only 2 blocks from the Empire State Building and a 10 minute walk to Times Square. The hotel itself is comfortable, small rooms and clean. The staff are friendly and there's a nice cafe attached (Captain Cafe). I'd definitely recommend Grand Union for your stay in New York.

Let the West Coast have Hollywood; Broadway’s lights are just as bright, and many screen actors come to the Great White Way to gain acting credibility. Area attractions include Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, and the Museum of Modern Art. Resplendent St. Patrick’s Cathedral takes up a block at Fifth and 50th. Once seedy, Times Square now hosts ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.
see all hotels in New Yorkfantastic bed mattress, location great. However have to complain about the rudeness of the conceirge to us every time we approached for information. It appeared that unless we were willing to book one of his recommended trips, then he was just not interested and quite frankly rude, on every occasion. It was so bad that on principal I would not book […] this hotel again. Read more

"Belvedere Hotel NY exceeded all expectations"
Cant recommend this hotel highly enough. Good size room with comfortable bed and a very handy kitchen area. Stunning views over NY Staff very helpful.
"Belvedere Hotel, West 48th St. NY."
It was a very enjoyable stay and the hotel and very central. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. I would have no hesitation recommending or returning to the hotel if I was in New York again.
"a little gem"
Staff very helpful and friendly, room very comfortable and the liitle kitchenette was ideal. The location was very central and as our room was at the back of the hotel it was very peaceful and so we slept well. Definitely recommend this hotel

"Concierge"
All very good BUT the concierge who was extremely rude & unhelpful. Complained to main desk and they told us it was run by a separate company..... Shame!

"Clean, comfortable...."
Very nice and good value for NYC. Needs better lighting in the rooms, but overall very clean, well designed and nice staff.
"Recommended for all people"
Our experience with the hotel was quite good. The best part about the hotel is the location. Most places that you may need to go to are a short walk from the hotel. Other than that the rooms were clean and of reasonable size. The property appears a bit tired and could do with renovation. However given the price and the location, it was a good choic […] e. "Belvedere Hotel"
The Belvedere Hotel is in an excellent location. just a few blocks from Times Square and Fifth Avenue. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The lifts are quite slow and there are only two of them. We visited in November and although it wasn't too cold outside, the room was way too hot and the windows don't stay […] open. Also whenever we tried to use more than one appliance in the room at the same time, such as the hairdryer and the microwave, the electricity was cut off. We had to contact reception on two occasions to have it reconnected. However, the hotel is in an excellent location for shopping, sight-seeing and eating out. I would definitely choose it again. "overcharged by 82.75 USD"
Having booked The Belvedere Hotel through Hotels.com and having checked out on 16th Nov. without any extra hotel services purchased I discovered on receiving my credit card bill that I was charged and extra 82.75 USD by The Belvedere Hotel . Both our room keys were handed in physically at 12.05pm approx. and there was no reference to the original hotel […] bill or any receipt provided . Very very strange , however I am looking into the matter . Read more

"perfect stay in big apple"
The convenience of the hotel location made our holiday so enjoyable- 5 minutes from Times Square and yet quiet. We walked everywhere- to pier 83 for boat trip around Manhatten island, to central park for bicycle tour, to Madison Square garden and Empire state Building. Just perfect esp for teenagers who dont like to walk!!!
"Excellent Location"
The hotel was friendly and Chris, the concierge, was most helpful. Location great for sightseeing, just off Timesquare. Bedroom very comfortable for 3 of us with own kitchenette. Very clean. Would stay there again.
"Excellent hotel in great location"
This hotel was perfect for a stay in the centre of Manhattan at a reasonable price.
"Good, EXCELLENT SERVICE, centric and affordable!"
I was positively impressed. Service was excellent. The bed mattress could have been better... It is a block away from Times Square and subway stations. It is very well located. The price is very good. The executive room comes with wireless internet included, so I think it is a very good deal.
"Cute hotel!"
Lovely place to stay! Great location and friendly staff. Only one complaint : the hot water in the shower was inconsistent. Hot then cold and vice versa. Overall, would stay there again.
"Comfortable and great location"
The Belvedere was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. It's a 5-10 minute walk to Times Square and the subway stations. It's certainly not a five-star hotel, as you can tell from the age of the elevators, but the rooms are just what you need if you're simply using them as a comfortable place to sleep and have as a base for your sight-seeing. Cons: […] the heater didn't work, but it was a nice week so we didn't bother to ask the front desk about it; the windows are thin and our room faced the street so it was a bit noisy; they could use a couple more NEW elevators for the amount of floors they have; and sometimes I thought the doormen were just there for show... "Great value and location"
If you want to be in the middle of it all, this is a great choice. The staff was super friendly and accommodating and the room was very spacious. Would highly recommend!
"Great location for shows"
The Belvedere was clean, had a great bed, and was located just a couple blocks from both our restaurant and theater. We will stay in this hotel again!!
A likable staff in a convenient location - bed was very comfortable.
"Quiet location 2 blocks from Times Square!"
We needed to be in this particular part of town for our business conference, and we were very satisfied with the Belvedere, as it is in a quiet location within two blocks from the theater district. Quiet, comfortable rooms, good breakfast (not cheap), and the Mont Blanc restaurant next door for a fantastic dinner! Only negative was the somewhat lazy […] shower and the low voltage lighting in the room. But we enjoyed our stay and will be back! Read more

"great location"
what a great place, I will stay here again. There was a restaurant 3rd door down Patzeria what a great place to eat and the best coffee.Great location
"Belvedere is excellent"
Great location if you are seeing plays. Very accommodating staff. All rooms are different. We were in a corner room on top floor. Nice to have an extra window with a view all the way to the river! Setup is a little tight for 2. Night table and lamp on one side of bed.Only top lighting at mirror in bath so not great for makeup. Also not much storage […] room in bath. But overall great experience & we will book this hotel again. Read more
"Classy Hotel on a quiet street"
I would highly recommend the Belvedere Hotel not only for it's location but it was an overall very enjoyable experience. I have traveled with my family many times to NYC during the Christmas holidays and have stayed at many hotels in the city. Most of them have been in the Times Square area. I would say without a doubt that the Belvedere was the best […] by far. The room was of adequate size and was very clean and beautifully decorated. We opted for the deluxe room. The beds were extremely comfortable and the pillows were extra fluffy. I REALLY loved the location since it was on a side street and off the main thoroughfares you didn't hear the sirens and heavy traffic all night long. We woke feeling very rested which was a first since traveling to NYC. They staff was great and very accomodating. I would highly recommend this hotel. Read more
"What a find!"
We are NYC annually at Christmas time. By far, we enjoyed ouor stay at the Belvedere far more than we have enjoyed our stays at neighboring hotels. The location is far enough off Times Square and yet affords access to all of NYC's attractions. We are booking again next December! We especially enjoyed a sense of neighborhood, being located where we were […] at the hotel. Read more
"BELVEDERE IN NEW YORK CITY"
WOULD DEFFINATELY STAY HERE AGAIN
"Good hotel but room upgrade a must!!"
Stayed 4 nights in January. Originally booked one of the "regular" rooms but upon arrival, it smelled funky and looked old & tired. We paid a little extra for one of their newly renovated rooms and the difference was night and day - the room was brand new. Location is good - just a few blocks from Times Square but on a fairly quite street (by NYC standards). […] For the price it was a great room in a great location - just get the upgrade... Read more
great location, very nice hotel, rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable
"perfect location, perfect night sleep"
couldn't pick a better location to stay for a night to see a show! and the bed was so comfortable. have already recommended it to a few people planning to visit NYC
"The Belvedere"
This is a great hotel to stay at. The room was extremely nice and looks like it was recently redecorated. The room was quite large and the bed was incredibly comfortable. A great value for the price. We'll definitley stay there again.
"Great place to stay"
Great centralized location. Great accommodating staff. Very nice hotel.
"Great location, good price"
Close to time square. Nice hotel with classic charm. Parking cost is heavy and more for suv.
"Belvedere Hotel - A Great Experience"
I stayed in the King Deluxe suite, which was a fantastic price for the time of year (New Years). The room was not only clean and comfy but it was very modern and the bathroom (one of the first places I look when checking in to a hotel) was very new and spotless. The service was fantastic, valet was prompt and bags were very well taken care of. The staff […] was very friendly, accomodating and quick to answer any questions. I did have a few issues come up (my wifi was not working properly, the heat in the room stopped working) but both issues were resolved in a timely manner. The breakfast was good but nothing special for the price ($15/person for continental, $20 for deluxe). I did notice that some of the lower floors were not as up modern and smelled more grungy (could be because they are the smoking floors) but I cannot comment on the look of those rooms. The hotel itself is a block and a half from Times Sq which made it VERY easy to get to all the must see sites. There are many great restaurants and attractions in the area. Read more
"The Belvedere Hotel in New York - hidden gem!"
The Belvedere Hotel is a beautiful hidden gem located very close to the must-see sights and attractions of New York. The hotel is located very close to mass transit systems such as buses, and subways - virtually enabling you to go anywhere in New York. It is located very close to the Broadway district as well so you wont have to walk very far to attend […] your Broadway show. The hotel staff are very friendly, and accommodating with their guests. "Great location, good experience"
This hotel is in a decent neighbourhood and only a couple of blocks from Times Square. You cannot beat the location. Room was clean and comfortable. But take note: there is no restaurant or bar in this hotel. But it was a good base for our touring.
"The Belvedere is Excellent with lots of Character"
This hotel which is in the heart of the theatre district features rooms which are "huge" by NY standards. Staff are friendly and helpful. Inexpensive parking is available on the next street north. Will be visiting here again for sure!
"Service makes the stay special"
From the check in to the concierge to the serving of the room, and check out, the people made the difference. While the room was a bit warm, needing air conditioning from time to time, that was a small quible. The location for theater going was very good, minutes away from most.
"Great location but lousy plumbing"
The location is terrific, price is right, but the plumbing is old and so it is a rather unhappy experience taking a shower because the water temperature changes randomly from ice cold to scalding.
"Wonderful hotel"
We had 3 rooms and our whole family came to New York for one night. We loved the hotel. It was a perfect location to walk to Times Square and other sites. Restaurants in the area were really authentic and delicious food. The bellman was so helpful to find us a taxi and give us directions and suggestions. We would all love to go back!
"The Belvedere - nicer than most in Times Square"
One of the nicer hotels I have stayed in in Times Square. Staff very nice and helpful. Only problems were the very late check-in time and a noisy room heater.
