"Perfect place for staying in nyc"
I grew up in ny but never stayed in a hotel in the city. I was meeting family from out if town. The location was perfect and we were all very pleased with our stay. We didn't get to eat in the restaurant. We would return without hesitation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Normally a nice hotel to stay at but not this time"
They charged a resort fee that wasn't told to you until you tried to check in. then the hot water or the water pressure was low so we were not able to take a shower. they changed our rooms but then the same thing happen.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I would stay again"
This place was very clean and comfortable. However, a bit on the older side. The elevator and the overall feeling of the hotel is old fashioned. The room was great but I couldn't find the temperature controller soo I think the temp in ur room is controlled by the staff and the bathroom style and setup was also old fashioned, but yet very clean and shiny. "Theater District Jewel"
One night getaway for my wife and I . The hotel is in the theater district but only a few blocks from Times Square . Quietly placed a half block in from the action . I felt safe to walk the neighborhood. A wonderful family pizza place is a few doors down I would highly reccomend Patzeria for lunch, dinner and breakfast! Room was small but what I expected […] in NYC but we had a small frig , microwave, coffee maker. We will stay here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Noisy but clean and great location"
The staff was great, very kind, the room was very neat and clean and more spacious than expected. I loved the exterior and the brass fittings in the elevator and halls.I booked this hotel for the great deal, understanding what previous reviewers had said about an aging hotel and the noise. All is true. Noise from the street at all hours was noticeable, […] as was television noise and conversations through the walls and in the hallways. Can't beat location and price but if you're looking for luxury, don't look here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Belvedere Jan. 2015"
The Belvedere is a good hotel in a great neighborhood, but it could be a GREAT hotel. The biggest issues I had were -Almost everyone has a smartphone or tablet with them that needs to recharge at night. But, the room I had at the Belvedere didn't have any available AC outlets in the bedroom area. So, I ended up unplugging the alarm clock that was on […] the night stand. -The shower water took more than 5 minutes to warm up first thing in the morning-- and that was just enough to be bearable. It took another 2-3 minutes to get hot. -The tub was clearly clogged, because it took more than 10 minutes to drain after my shower. Other than that, the room was clean and room service did a good job. Again, these were things that kept a good experience from being great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Excellent! Would stay here again. Comfortable bed and pillows.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was nice.. avoid the Mexican restaurant next door. It's a waste of time / money. Perfect sized rooms in an older hotel with modern rooms at a great price. Would definitely stay again if I needed to be in Time Square area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Wonderful location in Theatre District! Easy walk to all shows and to the great restaurants on 46th - just 2 blocks away. Also easy walk to Central Park. "Huge rooms right in the heart of midtown!"
We stayed in the Belvedere for one night in January as we were in town for a show. I had stayed here about 10 years ago and had a nice time and wanted to try again. I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel had been updated- it was incredibly comfortable. The room is HUGE by Manhattan standards and it is close to everything while still quiet. "Could do some improvements"
I stayed at The Belvedere Hotel from 1/19/15 - 1/23/15. The check in and check out process was pretty easy and smooth. The staff was really helpful with everything. The room itself was in good condition with ample room. We stayed on the 6th floor, didn't have much of a view. My complain though is the construction. It was pretty annoying when we were […] tryin to watch tv in the morning. And also, the pipes during the night. They are so Loud and annoying when we were trying to get some sleep.eventually we would get tired and fall asllep. But they really need to fix that problem. But overall it was nice. Oh, an also the luggage guy who brought our luggage from the storage was really rude. He asked if I had any tips for him. An I said no. And he threw my luggage and it fell. I'm sorry, but I only had enough cash for my cab. I always tip and one time that I dont, I get my luggage thrown. I was really annoyed. Anyways, those are my only complaints. I'm not sure if I'll be staying here in the future but idk. I'll see. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place for long weekend"
Lovely hotel in a great location, courteous staff, nice room. Had breakfasts nearby at the Cosmic Diner and Pick A Bagel, one dinner at Empanada Mama--all good places with reasonable prices for our family ( 2 teens). Easy walk to many attractions inc MOMA.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel and reasonably priced for New York"
A very nice hotel and in a good area. The only thing that was difficult were the bathrooms. There was no place to set your toiletries. Some shelving would have been very helpful. It is pretty close to the subway so getting around was pretty easy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this hotel to everyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and comfortable"
Second time staying here. This hotel is close to Times Square, and other attractions without the noise. I find the rooms comfortable and quiet and the staff very friendly. Good restaurants nearby. If I had to suggest anything, it would be a better selection of Keurig coffee available, even if for purchase. And (like many hotels) is it not possible for […] some actual tv channels instead of the constant adverts interrupted by rare programming? But I recommend this hotel and if you look around you can find some great rates. I will stay here again. Try for a high floor. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not what I expected."
Pictures on hotels.com represents the deluxe rooms which was an upgrade charge. Regular rooms were all centrally heated. We had to upgrade to new rooms, luckily the staff was friendly enough to upgrade us at a discounted rate. Overall the hotel is still an old hotel and needs remodeling!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Changed rooms two times, and in neither room did we have consistency with the towels or extras like soap. The first room, had only one bath towel (no hand or face towel) and it was a king room! The second room had towels but no soap. The last room was terribly outdated and had cheaper soap than the first room. It was annoying but the worst part was […] all the room changes Once because the heat wasn't working properly and they gave us a room with a smaller bed, so we switched to another room on a forgotten floor. The heat was an issue at 1am...it was burning up, maintenence came up and offered to open a window, but it was in the single digits outside and the heat was only stifling sporadically after a 20 minute debate they agreed to change our room. I had to ask for free breakfast when it should have offered for all the inconvenience. Everyone was friendly, just hated the heat wasn't working properly in our first room, which was lively despite not having towels. But it was clean and reasonably priced and very convenient. Stay there but be ready to speak up! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Our great stay at the Belvedere, 2015"
We started out in room 1407, but the window broke, and they moved us to 1526. Staff was very nice. One thing I noticed, the doormen were not really opening the doors for us. So, maybe they are not doormen....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get what you pay for and looking pretty shabby"
I've stayed here numerous times for the past 4 years. I think I am done and will need to find another hotel. I feel cheated because I've praised it for its great service and clean rooms. The last couple of times here, the door man is not there at all. The people know why this is a problem. The front doors are so heavy from pressure that I cannot open […] them sometimes. Especially on cold windy days. Then the lobby is becoming shamefully shabby and dusty. And the room I received was atrocious. I let one or two bad rooms go but this was the third one. The TV would not work. The light switch won't work. There are no outlets near the bed. The internet is also becoming expensive - but I bring my own in any case. The bathroom looks extremely outdated and I see dust and dirt in corners. Walls are getting dingy...but that's okay - because I didn't have any light in the room to see them very closely until morning. The desk person said - "why didn't you call down to help with the TV and the lights...?" In a regular hotel - I don't have to have some mechanic come in to my room at 11 pm to make the lights work or to have my TV work. They usually all just work. But you get what you pay for. The room was cheap. So my bad. But the place is looking pretty bad. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We have stayed at the Belevdere Hotel before and like the location. We were on the 17th floor directly across from the elevator, which was not ideal. The elevators seemed to take a long time and our room was very warm. I really like this hotel but I think it may be time for some upgrades.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right in the midst of the action without the noise"
Great location. Walking distance to all major destinations. Quiet street providing quiet room. The only downside to the hotel is the slow elevator service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wife liked it, I thought it was just OK."

"Good location... Hot and Noisy Room"
The hotel looks pleasant upon entry and it is clean. However, the room was sweltering hot and impossible to cool down. To make matters worse, the pipes rattled all night long and the walls are so thin that I could hear the conversations next door. The location is incredibly convenient - it's blocks from Times Square and close to great restaurants. […] But, the price for a weekend night stay is way overpriced! The staff was not incredibly helpful and the concierge desk had a "be back at 8am" sign during most of my stay. Overall, I had a mixed opinion. I wouldn't choose this hotel again but I'd stay there if I had to. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful hotel with unique character"
My stay at the Belvedere Hotel was everything I expected it to be. I was attending an organizational annual conference, but didn't like the sterility of the giant hotel, preferring the European style ambience of an older hotel with character. The room was smaller than that of a gargantuan big-name, but it was clean, had all of the amenities that I needed, […] and lovely staff. It is situated on a side street between 8th and 9th streets. Walking around the area is safe unless you follow the crowd when they attempt to cross a street on a red light! The hot water in the shower takes its time in getting there, and the remote control for the TV was practically useless, but I was so happy to be in a vintage hotel rather than one that requires you to change elevators to get from top to bottom. I recommend this hotel to anyone who enjoys quality over quantity. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We enjoyed a three night stay at the Belvedere and had a great time. The service was excellent. The room was very comfortable and reasonably priced. "Great location - unacceptable bellman!"
Positive: Great location, walking distance to Times Square and Central Park and 5th Avenue, nice staff at the reception, for NYC pretty spacious room (we had a room for 3 persons with 2 double beds) and bathroom, little kitchenette. Negative: The cleaning lady left long dark hairs on towels and beds (however, besides that it was clean), but the behavior […] of the bellman was pretty unacceptable: he counted money right in front of the guests (actually he told us to wait until he finished counting his dollar bills), and gave us a rude death stare plus waved with his bunch of dollar bills when we didn't immediately 'pay' him his tipp for the 'service' of storing our luggage between check out and leaving to the airport. Storing luggage is and should be a normal service of a hotel that does not justify a greedy bellman treating guests rudely and forcing them to pay him! This left a very bad impression of the hotel in general! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

When we arrived, we were upgraded to an executive king room (thank you desk manager), room was very comfortable. "Mixed Review - Positives and Negatives"
I stayed at the Belvedere for three nights while in NYC for business. Positives: good location - convenient to lots of restaurants, Times Square, etc. Very large room for NYC (we had a 2 double bed room). Overall decent value compared to other places we've stayed in the same price range and neighborhood. Negatives: Inadequate heating... no thermostat […] in the room to control the temperature. Hotel eventually provided a space heater after admitting there was nothing they could do to fix the heat. Very small bathroom - hard to find a surface to put your toiletries. Would pick somewhere a little nicer next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very noisy, outdated hotel!"
My friend and I stayed here for four nights - 1/10/15 to 1/14/15. The location and price are probably the only great things about this hotel. It's very close (walking distance)to a lot of restaurants, shops, and Times Square. The walls in the hotel are super thin..so thin that you can hear the maids arguing in the hallway and the guy next door stretching […] in the morning. My friend and I did not get one full night of rest because of all the noise. There is also a school and Firehouse right across the street so we heard children and sirens all the time. The beds/pillows were very uncomfortable and we woke up with aches and pains. The picture on the TV kept glitching and flickering and the bathroom could sure use some updating. There were two different handle fixtures in the shower and the shower curtain was very old. The elevator took way too long so most of the time we opted to use the stairs since our room was on the third floor. There were no additional perks to the room..no drinking water and no free wifi. No room service. Wifi was $10 a day. Continental breakfast was priced at $14. Also, we had to go to the basement to get water because there was no other working vending machine. Overall, I think the hotel is good for guests on a budget who only anticipate a short stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Bf and I went to NY Jan 7th - Jan 11th. Belvedere is more affordable than other hotels near TS. It's right off of a busy street, 8th, but when you turn onto it's street, 48th, it's quiet and mellow. There's a subway station right at 50th/8th. Service was fine, nice people and even doormen. They had a bag check which was amazing because our flight was […] at 9pm the day we checked out. The outside has a cool Medieval times look. Inside is nice, if you're picky you might say it's a little outdated, but either way it's still worth it. We stayed on the 15th floor, room 1501. So we had a corner room with two views of the city! I loved the big windows. We had a King bed that was very comfy. It took up most of the space, but once we unpacked we never felt crammed. The heater was good, sometimes it took a moment to kick in. Cleaning service never bothered us early. The room had a mini kitchenette with a sink, microwave, cabinets, and a Keurig machine. We loved that! The bathroom was beautiful and functional. The hotel had a continental breakfast (not free), but we never tried it. Within blocks of theaters (we walked to Wicked no prob), blocks from Duane Reade's (convenience store), TS, bars/restaurants, the subway, and still not far from other places like MSG. I usually do a lot of research on hotels before trips, and this one wasn't talked-up enough. It is a hidden treasure. I would definitely stay here again! - Rose, LA Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
