We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

"Moderne NYC"
Maybe after the remodel is completed this hotel has a chance. The room we requested was for two beds. Upon arrival we were told that they do not have two bed rooms since the remodel that the web page was outdated. They finally accommodated us with a "suite" which was a room with a king bed and a sleeper sofa, which barely counted as a Jr. suite. The […] room was in the final stage of their remodel and should not have been offered to a guest. The window coverings were paper held up during the day by clothes pins, wire connections were on the floor, the two chairs in the room were off the to the side next to the sofa and had to be repositioned for use. The bathroom had the ceiling access open as it was not replace properly by the work crew. There was no phone because the phone line did not work according to the staff. The only shining grace was the staff which were helpful and did their best with what they had to work with. This hotel has no restaurant, lounge and minimal amenities. We had to ask for enough towels for three people and the shampoo etc was not refreshed daily. If I had a say I would recommend that Hotels.com delete this hotel from their list. Read more

My wife and I just spent a week in New York and stayed vat the Moderne. It is fabulous if you are looking for comfort, decor and friendly efficient staff. It is quite small and provides fruit, coffee and tea all the time with cake for breakfast. The beds are superb, about 7ft wide with memory foam mattresses and lovely squidgy pillows. "Very pleasant Stay"
The room was a bit dark with the only window facing a brick wall. However, it is contemporary setting more than made up for this; in any case when in New York all I do is sleep in the room so I was happy. Complimentary coffee in the morning was a nice touch and the hotel provides a good free wifi service. Would stay here again!

I would highly recommend The Moderne. The location is great, the rooms kept clean, and the best part: the front desk staff is very helpful. The staff gladly shared their knowledge about good restaurants, bars and places to go, and helped with reservations. Allways with a smile.
"Moderne made my second honeymoon a truly memorable"
We found out about the Moderne from Trip Advisor and booked our stay with not much expectation as this was our 2nd visit to NYC and we knew better than to expect much at the rates that we got the Moderne for. Boy were we wrong. The room was exactly what it looked like in the photos and the king size bed was heavenly. Yes closet space in the the room […] was a bit small but this is as expected so we didn't really mind the lack of space. My wife especially love the robes and the shower room. The staff was friendly and helpful and we especially recommend Teddy and Basheer. The lounge on the 2nd floor was simply inviting and we enjoyed the early morning coffee and cakes that filled us up before we go out on our trips around the city. The Moderne is also located near to all subway stations which made our journey around the city truly an easy one. The close proximity to Central Park and Times Square was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this hotel to visitors of the Big Apple. A definite value for money and an incredible bargain. Read more

For anyone who has tried to find accommodation in NYC you would know you usually have to pay a heap to get something that is just ok. The Moderne was amazing value for money. The room was super clean and the entire bathroom was scrubbed down every day. And they use white linen which doesn't hide anything so we knew the beds were clean too. Service […] was fantastic. Vicki at the front desk was so friendly and welcoming. She had great recommendations for food and if you needed help getting somewhere she would do all the research and print out instructions. Also she lent us hotel umbrellas during the rain. Location was great too with the hotel being within walking distance of many of the main attractions as well as having sub-way stops on either side of the hotel which could connect you to the rest of the city too. Tip: check out the soup man (made famous by Seinfeld) and the kareoke/japanese restaurant next door. Fabulous food for under $10 per person. Read more

"Great location and well-priced"
We found the newly-renovated hotel to be fantastic value for money and well-located for many of New York's major rights and excellent shopping. Room and bathroom were quite small - as they generally are in NY - but quality of fittings generally quite good. King-size bed was super-comfy. Complimentary wifi was much appreciated.

Ottimo hotel, in zona comoda sia per raggiungere a piedi le principali attrazioni, sia per diverse fermate della metro. Siamo stati molto soddisfatti!! camera ristrutturata a nuovo in stile moderno. Molto bella. Box doccia con vetro, molto igenico. Al secondo piano c'è una saletta ristoro in cui 24 ore su 24 sono a disposizione gratuitamente: frutta, […] acqua e caffè. Inoltre dalle 7 alle 9 a.m. aggiungono una torta/ciambella che per noi è stata un'ottima colazione! ovviamente sempre gratuita. Davvero un bel plus!!! Mycket bra läge, nära till Central park, Time square och tunnelbana. Genomgående mycket positiv erfarenhet. Relativt små men fullt tillräckliga och funktionella rum. Mycket bra badrum. Gratis Wifi, apple TV och stor platt TV på rummet. Oerhört vänlig och hjälpsam personal, gör att man känner sig väl omhändetagen och välkommen! Menší hotel se skvělým umístěním. Kousek na Times Square. Pokoje malé, ale útulné. V našem pokoji bylo bohužel jen jedno okno a to do protilehlého domu :-), výhodou byla možnost jeho otevírání a vlez na požární schodiště - kouknout jaká je obloha a počasí. The Moderne est un hotel calme, recemment renove qui offre des chambres confortables, avec le Wifi, et l'acces a une salle dans laquelle on peut se servir de boissons chaudes et de gateau le matin. Le personnel est serviable et tres aimable.

"The Moderne - supert for løpere - og andre!"
Meget bra beliggenhet med kun 300 m til Central Parks sørvestlige hjørne. Ett kvartal til nærmeste metrostasjon. Hyggelig lounge i 2.etasje som gjorde at vi kunne samles der før vi dro ut og spiste på kvelden etc. Rommene er ikke store, men senga var mer enn stor nok. Vi fikk dessuten en knallpris ved å bestille via Hotels.com.

"Fornemt"
Vi har kun godt at sige om hotellet. Eneste minus var, at der ikke som ventet var en ekstra opredning. Men - det skyldtes ikke hotelle, men hotels.com, som havde lovet det (hotellet oplyste, at det ikke var første gang, den situation opstod).

Vi är mycket nöjda med vår vistelse på Moderna. Hotelet var mycket tillmötesgående med det vi ville få hjälp med. Kan varmt rekommendera hotelet

Great helpful staff, clean and nice rooms, the hotel was renovated and reopened in May -11, just a few minutes walk to central park, times square and 5th avenue. Subway just a block away.

Peccato per la eccessiva rumorisità della camera, la pessima abitudine dei camionisti a sostare sotto l'albergo a motori accesi, e per il cantiere edile posto di fronte all'albergo, che inizia i lavori alle 7 del mattino. Excellent location in Mid-Town; freshly renewed with hyper moderne approach; cooperative and nice personnel, ready to support and give advice; rooms quite confortable, with a large K size bed and plenty of amenities; as usual in the US, air conditioning is noisy. Even if not stated, a small complimentary breakfast is cavailable for all guests as well […] as coffee and tea all day long. Prizes are relatively high, but by reserving and paying in advance, we were able to get a good rate (for N.Y.). Should I get back to N.Y. I would consider this hotel as a first choice. Read more

"Excellent"
Nous avons séjourné (2 adultes, 1 enfant) à l'hotel en août 2011. L'hotel est super. Propre, Personnel accueillant. La chambre est beaucoup plus grande que les gardes-robes auquel nous étions habitués à NY. Le décor des chambres est également très différents et très bien. Un seul bémol. "THE MODERNE"
Je suis arrivé au mauvais moment où les travaux de rénovation n'étaient pas tout à fait finies. Il a fallu que j'insiste pour avoir un téléphone dans ma chambre. L'inconvénient majeur c'est l'extrême petitesse des toilettes-sale d'eau. Il faut se bagarrer pour ne pas cogner quelque part.

Unter den Hotels im Zentzrum von Manhattan war es, als wir es gebucht haben, das preisgünstigste (bei 3 Übernachtungen gab es 35 % Rabatt). Lille hyggeligt hotel med supercentral beliggenhed tæt på Times square og Central Park. Værelset var lidt lille til 3 og airconditionen larmede lidt rigeligt, men super venligt og imødekommende personale.

"Hotel THE MODERNE NEW YORK"
Nous étions 3 couples + une célibataire, soit 4chambres. L'avis ci-dessous est unanime. Accueil très chaleureux Excellente situation à 2 pas de Broadway et à 5 mn de Times Square et de Central Park. Hotel refait à neuf donc rien à redire sur la qualité de la literie et sur les équipements de la salle de bain, bien que cette dernière soit un peu exiguë. La […] fenêtre de la chambre donne sur l'escalier de secours (ce qui est normal en terme de sécurite) mais de l'autre coté de cet escalier se trouve le mur de l'immeuble voisin (soit un espace toal de 80 cm environ) ce qui ne permet aucune lumière du jour. Mais quand on rentre à l'hôtel uniquement le soir pour se coucher et repartir le lendemain à 8h00, tout cela n'a aucune importance. Au contraire cette situation rend les chambres très calmes, ce qui est rare à Manhattan. Si nous devons retourner à N.Y nous retournerons dans cet hôtel. Read more
