The location is great. Hotel is well funished with large rooms. We stayed in 2 different rooms - once before touring South Island and once after. Both rooms were good. The concierge offered to store extra luggage we didn't need for the tour so we didn't have to carry everything. Slight negatives: there is no power outlet near the water kettle. Also, the airport shuttle they booked for us did not show so we had to take a taxi and spent more.

We had the included breakfast and the exective option. The hotel is very nice with very friendly staff as you would expect in an upscale hotel. A little less upscale, but I was just as happy at the Holiday Inn that is literally across the street. Note, there is a parking structure next to the hotel but driving downtown was a bit much.

We cannot say enough about the service at this hotel. Everyone was very helpful whenever we had any questions about planning our time in the area. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It was an excellent bargain for the price and a great location. There was a lot to do within walking distance and several easy daytrips from that location as well. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area.

I was originally assignemed a room immediately next to the loud elevator shaft. Normally I wouldn't say anything, but this time I did. The front desk said it would take a few minutes to rearrange other guests so a new room could be made available. Fairly quickly they put me into an excellent room and they made the change without any attitude at all.

"Excellent hotel in central Christchurch"

We used this hotel for an overnight stay before taking the Tranzscenic train. Transfer from the airport by hotel shuttle was straightforward. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist and given a voucher for a free glass of wine. We had booked a double room but were allocated a suite - spotlessly clean, roomy and very comfortable. We had a pleasant light meal in the bar downstairs then went out for a stroll - the hotel is very conveniently situated and I would recommend it.
