"Perfect little place to get away"
Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was great. The breakfast was terrific as was the wine and cheese and milk and cookies too. Would have no problem telling my friends and family to stay here. I will stay there again too.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful little hotel in Santa Barbara"
Was looking for a nice little hotel with reasonable prices to spend a weekend with my girlfriend and this place delivered. Convenient location, clean rooms and relatively quiet area all made for a nice romantic getaway. The only issue was housekeeping was a little pushy when it came to cleaning the room. I guess it's not too huge of a complaint but […] it was still a little awkward when I answered the door and she pretty much walked in to clean while we were still getting ready. Still, a nice hotel, nice staff and decent location made for a wonderful weekend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel close to beach"
On a business trip and wanted a comfortable place. I was disappointed I could not take advantage of this lovey Inn. It was not a huge place and easy to navigate.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location and pretty little hotel"
My family and I booked three rooms for one night and were very pleased. The hotel web site pictures are accurate and the location very near to the beach. It was quiet and quaint and well maintained. We would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cozy hotel with nice grounds"
A cozy hotel with comfortable rooms, two blocks from the beach. We walked to State Street and the beach easily. Quiet location with mostly older couples.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect for our honeymoon!"
This hotel was so cute and quaint. It was the first hotel we stayed at during our honeymoon road trip. The room was very cute and clean. They offer things like cheese and cracker and cookies and milk throughout certain times of the day. We were even greeted with a complimentary bottle of champagne. It was simply a very relaxing and romantic place to […] stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This was such a lovely place! Yes, there may be a few places that are in need of some TLC, but for the most part, the grounds were lovely, though low key, and the rooms are a bit small. What they lack in space, they more than make up for in friendliness ans service!! From the free champagne in your room at arrival, to the wine and cheese reception in […] the evening, and the wonderful cookies and milk before bed, they make you comfortable and cared for all day. And breakfast is quite nice, not deluxe, but plenty to eat to start your day. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"perfect stay for one night or seven."
Close to beach and park, restaurants. Lovely ambience. Very friendly service. Free parking!!! This small, boutique hotel has everything you need, including pool, gym, bikes for rent, great location, reasonable price for the area. Would go again in a minute.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It is an older small hotel, but they remodeled it and it is very nice. They have flowers all around and it is really clean. They give you a bottle of champagne in your room and milk and cookies in the afternoon in the lobby. They also have wine and crackers in the late afternoon. My wife really loved the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"an overall great hotel"
The whole atmosphere of the hotel is comfortable and charming. The desk clerks were friendly and helpful. We loved the cookies and milk they provided in the evening, and the continental breakfast is definitely above average. The location was great--close to the beach and to downtown Santa Barbara. "Relaxing place to stay in Santa Barbara"
This was our second time staying at the Lavender Inn by the Sea. The Inn offers a friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Lavender sachets and soaps are a special touch, as is the complimentary bottle of champagne. We like to sit on the patio and enjoy the continental breakfast. We especially like the fruit parfaits. A relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful […] grounds made our stay very enjoyable. We definitely plan to stay at the Lavender Inn any time we are in the Santa Barbara area. Great hotel in Santa Barbara.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very friendly staff. Lovely hospitality. Comfy beds. Loved all the food and wine available. Walked to the beach and even state street. I would stay again. Rooms are a bit small. Not great if you have many people. But perfect lovers getaway.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"better than the higher priced hotels"
good value , especially the daily cookies and daily wine and daily movies and daily bikes....great value for the room price....to good to pass up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a charming little place just a few blocks from the shore. Having the refrigerator in the room was nice, as was the complimentary bottle of champagne!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"One night stay"
Room was a bit dated, but clean. The person checking us in was rude and seemed annoyed to be there or that she was forced to help us. A few blocks from the beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very comfortable and extremely accommodating!"
The hotel is in a very convenient location right off the 101 freeway. It is just quick bike ride to the beach and to State Street, where just about everything is. Nothing can compare to how accommodating the hotel is from having our room ready upon arrival, to free rental of bicycles, to comped wine and breakfast. The room itself is very comfortable […] for 2 and I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Quaint and comfortable stay within walking distan"
My wife and I were quite pleased with our stay and would stay here again. The hotel is within a 15 minute walk to State Street (main downtown area) and the beach. It is fairly close to where you need to go. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel had a cozy feel. The breakfast was more than adequate with the basics. Complimentary wine and […] cheese, as well as milk and cookies, were served in the lobby area in the evening, which was a nice touch. Free DVD rentals including some new releases such as Skyfall and the Hobbit, bicycle rentals, milk and cookies, wine and cheese, and champagne all included in the cost. very nice clean room, a little on the small side. room seemed a little stuffy so we used the air conditioner which was very noisy. Breakfast which was included was very good, excellent pastries from local bakery almost worth the price of the room, which we felt was overpriced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not Santa Barbara's Best"
This place is in desperate need of a facelift. Everything is tired and well used. It's on a very noisy main street and the surrounding neighborhood is a bit dodgy. It was OK for just the one night, but I was pretty disappointed. The service was average at best. Stick with a chain rather than a "boutique" hotel like this one.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Marina and Waterfront Shuttle"
Friendly staff. Likked wine and cheese and later cookies and milk. Never got around to the complementary bottle of champagne.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worth the money"
I would definitely return to this hotel. The location was central to the area we were visiting. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was well-stocked and fresh.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice, cozy hotel and attentive staff. Very nice reception with wine and cheese and fruit and a complimentary bottle of champagne in the room. However the only downside was that it was raining the morning after our arrival and the hotel wasn't equipped with adequate space to accommodate all of their guest to have breakfast at the same time. It was actually […] a bit ridiculous. My 76 old mother had to carry her food on a tray to her room to have breakfast because there was no dry table to sit at for any of the guests. It was nice but slightly over priced for the location and the over all experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very pleasant stay"
It was great. The only thing negative is that the housekeeping changed our linens when we indicated that we didn't want them to be changed. Many hotels let this happen. The staff needs to understand the purpose of the policy and follow through. Otherwise this is a wonderful hotel with excellent service. "Amazing Gem of a Hotel"
The only thing negative I can say about this place is that I am SO sorry I did not stay here on any of my previous stays in Santa Barbara! We absolutely loved this hotel. The service from the staff was amazing and the accomodations were beyond belief. They host complimentary wine/cheese hours, milk and cookie hours, there was a regular size bottle of […] champagne in the room and they also provide bikes for their guests use -- ALL at no charge. The breakfast was a basic continental breakfast but all of the food was fresh and delicious. Fresh fruit is available all day. And then the hotel itself. Adorable courtyard for guests to sit out and relax in, beautiful pool and just a couple of blocks from the beach. Ideally located and as you can see I recommend this hotel highly. Perfect for my husband and I for a relaxing getaway. Took the amtrak. Walked about half a mile, checked in, grabbed a few bikes, and headed to the beach. Great location, friendly, helpful staff. "Very nice experience"
The hotel was really lovely and they had a very nice cheese and wine reception in the early evening, which was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were spacious and clean and had nice light coming in from the courtyard. The continental breakfast was okay, not amazing. You do have to drive from there to town but it is very close by.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for anyone visiting Santa Barbara."
The rooms are beautifully decorated. We moved to this hotel after staying one night in a much more "upscale" B&B that was extremely noisy. The Lavender in was quiet. Sachets of lavender were placed on the pillows. Bed comfortable...linens beautiful. The bathroom looked like it was recently tiled. Very clean. They offered a continental breakfast. Good […] coffee and a great chocolate croissant were among the offerings. I hated to leave. My husband and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a restful stay in Santa Barbara. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Lovely inn a block from the ocean, free 4-hour bike rentals, friendly helpful staff (especially Danny - GREAT restaurant recommendation!)... beautiful clean room with delicious lavender products, free bottle of champagne, pool and hot tub, tons of free movie rentals. Such a relaxing trip, I will definitely be back here!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming little inn"
Charming little inn with many thoughtful touches: a champagne welcome (I'm 8 months pregnant; they let us trade our champagne bottle in for sparkling cider); good free hotel breakfast; wine and cheese in the afternoon; cookies and milk at night. The heated pool is beautiful, the hot tub area is surrounded by vines so feels very secluded. The inn is […] on a busier street than we'd expected, but it is still very quiet and night (and perhaps, given that it is one block from the beach, we should have expected it to be a busy street!) As other reviewers have noted, it could use a little updating, and I'm not sure it is worth the $250/night we paid (if you're not going to take advantage of the pool/snacks/bikes/etc., it might make more sense to stay at one of the more budget-friendly hotels in the same block - it's a strip of hotels/inn/motels), but it was a lovely little inn with very nice, helpful staff and we enjoyed our stay very much. "Hotel Close to Beach"
Best things: 2 blocks from the main pier, good quality furnishing and finishes in the rooms, reasonable breakfast with cereals, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, pastries, juices. We booked a group of rooms for a family event, and a suite came in very handy, with a separate small kitchen area with table, chairs, and counter tops, as well as extra space and […] furniture to allow a group cocktail hour. Negatives; indoor seating at breakfast is limited to 4-5 persons. Since it was raining, many guests took breakfast back to their rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to the sea"
The inn was pretty, very close to the sea and a great location. The room we were out in could've used a bit more upkeep. The free breakfast was not great. Plan on eating elsewhere, unless sugary pastries are your idea of breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place for a quiet getaway!"
We loved the Lavender Inn! So clean and comfortable and with a friendly staff (and WiFi in the room!). The location is prime, just a few blocks from the beach. "Great place to stay in Santa Barbara"
Stayed here on a trip up the coast for our honeymoon. Probably the best hotel we stayed at (out of 5 different hotels). Everything was clean and nice, and the front desk staff was very pleasant as well. The best part, however, was all the little perks: Milk and cookies, wine and cheese, complimentary champagne, lavender on the pills. Great location […] as well in Santa Barbara. "Lots of nice touches"
Nice staff, very helpful. Beautiful room, but a bit cramped (was there for bike race, so I had my bike and lots of my stuff in the room, plus my boyfriend and all of his stuff). Big, spacious shower--fits two comfortably, but big shower appears to be at the cost of having area to spread out toiletries beside sink (that counter is in adjacent room, between […] bathroom and closet). Loved the robes, the lavender potpourri bags on bed, the complimentary champagne. Beautiful jacuzzi area: wonderful to relax in while gazing up at surrounding flowers and greenery, and experience was not diminished by the foggy weather that day. Walls seemed pretty soundproof (or maybe we were just surrounded by quiet guests). Overall, liked this hotel better than its sister lodging Inn by the Harbor. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"This is not near the beach"
It was a mile walk to the beach from a hotel located on a busy, loud street. If that isn't bad enough, downtown is also more than an hour away. If that isn't bad enough, the mattress was extremely soft with a hole big enough in the middle that we both rolled into it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Lavender Inn by the Sea The Lavender Inn by the Sea is located 2 blocks from Santa Barbara’s Harbor and West Beach and a mere 5 blocks to State Street.
