Staff was great waited around for a real late arrival, room was read with hearter on and light too. What more can you say... it was a basic room for the basic stay..

Not as close to the resorts as led to believe, but within a few miles is ok as long as there is no traffic. Service was not as good as expected. There was no hot water in the morning, but instead of apologiozing or otherwise attempting to qwell my frustration (for not having hot water in the middle of February in a hotel obviously catering to the ski […] resort crowd), the management just blamed everyone for using the hot water at the same time and told me to just wait. Notwithstanding the fact that I would rather be skiing than waiting to take a hot shower, we waiting for more than 2 hours just so that we could take a simple shower in the morning. Understanding that the price of a hotel will go up for President's Day weekend in Big Bear, a little extra effort would have been expected but was not recieved. Thus, while this hotel may serve as a viable option for a back-up option if there is nothing else left, the price-to-service-ratio does not warrant it to be a first choice selection (especially with the other hotel options out there). Online review said there were no in-room televisions, but there were. Also, online reservation did not allow me to choose AAA discount and hotel refused to refund AAA discount.

The hotel is nice, clean and close to the city center. The only thing as i read someone say the heater has no working thermostat, so you are either to hot or to cold. The price was a little steep for what you get, but we needed a late checkout the next day, they allowed us to stay until 4pm the next day. The hotel is old with old equipment. The heater was hard to adjust, there was no themostat, so it was either too hot or too cold. 2 out of 3 light bulbs in the bathroom were burnt out and it was hard to see your face in the miror while shaving.

This hotel looks ok from the pictures but when you get there it's worse than a motel, which is what it used to be as far as I could make out!! All they did was give it a paint job and stick a flat screen tv in the room and triple the price. Very dissatisfied...

Good standard room, no frills. This was the only hotel available for Xmas eve and reviews were not good. Our expectations were very low when we arrived. From our arrival till our departure we were pleasantly surprised. We were there for just one night. The front office decor is pleasant and had a good welcoming effect but check-in took a long time. It took more than 45 minutes. Only […] 4 people were in line before us. The best part we liked was the room size. The room was at least 25% bigger than the other hotel rooms. There was enough room to walk around even after two double beds, usual furniture and desk/chair. The wash basin was outside the bathroom. I am really not the type to complain, but my stay at this hotel was absolutely awful. THEY HAVE NEW OWNERS, SO BEWARE! The room itself could have been cleaner. The heater's casing was damaged, but I did not think much of it initially. First thing: NO WIFI. I chose this hotel specifically because I thought I could use the internet, which I NEEDED. […] I ended up going to coffee shops for my needs. The owners had no idea how the WIFI worked, and kept ensuring me it does work when my girlfriend, the guy across the street, and I couldn't access it on our respective computers. Second: The fire alarm went off at night while we were sleeping, and not just for a few minutes... how about an HOUR AND A HALF. It was so ear piercing that we had to wait outside in the freezing cold. The owners had NO idea how to turn it off, so they had to call the fire department to do it, who were unfamiliar with their system. The owner HIMSELF was the one who pulled the alarm, thinking it was a light switch (???). Worst part? NO APOLOGY, THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I mean I don't expect them to refund our stay (even though most places would have at least to some extent) but not even a simple apology? The incident was 100% their fault. I felt bad for the father a few rooms down who had his sleeping children in the room when that god awful sound pierced through their tiny ears. We had multiple firemen in our room trying to reboot the system afterwards, when we were cold and just wanted to sleep. LASTLY: The heater had two settings, scorching hot and off. I tried to balance the immense heat coming from the heater by opening windows but to no avail. So I had to wake up every hour to turn on and off the heater, so we wouldn't freeze/burn while sleeping. I woke up with only a few hours of uncomfortable sleep and... NO APOLOGIES WHATSOEVER. I hope by posting this review the new owners will be compelled to learn how important customer service is. The hotel itself is average which is fine, the service is excellent though. Personally, I love it when I talk to the clerk and they remember my name even though I only spoke with them for two minutes when I checked in.

There were spider nests in the bathroom and in the window in the bedroom! The shower head fell off when taking a shower. No one was there in the a.m. to finalize my check out so we had to come back later in the afternoon to check out.

Everything was great. The beds were nice and confortable. The room and bathroom were clean, I would defenetly recomend it to a friend. And when is time to sleep its nice and quiet. I willl see them on my next vacation. The only down part is that they have no coffe maker in the room.

Was the right place for the right price!!!

A casual setting with a low key look and feel to the place. Easy going staff and friendly.

I booked this hotel because it was cheap. I read the other review, and was nervous. But it was a nice hotel! Yes, they could do some touch ups, but it was clean, the staff was nice, and I felt safe. Based upon the prior reviews I had read I had low expectations for this hotel. It did exceed my expectations. It was clean and comfortable. The only negative was the heater which had drywall dust in it. I was looking for cheap and clean for one night. We had two queen beds whch we needed for us and our daughter and husband. I would use this place as a last resort only. With so many places to choose from, even on Labor Day weekend! It was our first time up there so we did not know. The bed we extremely uncomfortable, you can hear everything that's going on in the rooms above you and beside them, I don't think there was anyone next door to us either side. The parking lot […] is dull no plants or trees, just rocks and weeds. The paint is pealing off the entire building. The reception on the television was poor. Stayed at this hotel because everything else close to the lake were fully booked. A little further out, but as it turns out great starting point for bicycling clockwise around Big Bear Lake! Basic accommodations, with pool (clean, but very cold) and hot tub. Complimentary coffee, pastries and bagels for breakfast. Friendly and helpful manager.

The price was fair; the amenities minimal. The beds and bedding were comfortable and clean. However, there WAS NO COFFEE... not in the room, not in the lobby in the AM hours. Alot of people are complaining about picky things at this hotel. It's not a 4 or 5 star its a 2 or 3 star and for the price you're paying your geting a good deal. Pool was fine; WIFI worked, even a refrigerator in the room. Also AC was and hot water in the shower was working too. The staff definetly cares. The Inn at Big Bear just recently changed hands and is in the middle of a renovation but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and weren't not affected by the renovation all that much. The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast in their fun rec room. Older hotel just outside of town. Was a quiet night for us. No issues. Longer than normal check-in process, they are still learning.

We liked the spacious room at a fair price, but the hotel was almost shut-down for the off season. The staff was minimal, and they didn't clean the room. There was a hole in the ceiling stuffed with dirty rags. The air conditioning was broken on purpose. The pool was closed for health and safety violations by the county health department. There was no screen on the window. It was awful. We didn't even stay the night.

We were told this motel was reopening. We took a chance and were disappointed. They have a long way to go. The jacuzzi was luke warm. The pool was clean. The room was clean, but spartan. No coffee maker, pool towels, HBO, or other amenities. We stayed two days and our room was not cleaned. In the village, the restaurant has great food especially the homemade chicken pot pie.

the pool was closed due to city code violations, we didn't get a mountain view room (as promised when booking), the light fixture in the bathroom where the sink area is was not working (had to open the front door for my wife to put her makeup on), there were WAY more than 5 vacancies (unlike what HOTELS.COM advertised on their website). The room was cheap, so I wasn't expecting the four seasons, but this room was pretty gross. There was a sliver of soap stuck to the bathtub, and when I pried it off, there was hair from the previous occupant under it. LOVE IT

The Inn at Big Bear is not an Inn (no bar or hot food) and not in Big Bear - it is several miles to the village centre and ski areas. The decor is very dated and our room was not cleaned during our stay. The only good thing was the staff who were accommodating when we arrived early and found us a room. I would not stay here again.
