It was a horrible hotel, had no lighting when we arrived, looked like it wasnt een open for busienss. they didnt have internet to confirm we had paid for our reservation, or that we had a reservation for that matter. Room had no a/c, fan didnt work, smelled like there was a dead animal in the room. worst experience in a hotel ever or anywhere. not up […] to par with any hotels in mexico, not even hostels. "Terrible hotel rated 3 stars"
The hotel is old and in bad conditions, it doesn't seem to be cleaned. It doesn't have air condition, nor heat, just a fan. Bathroom furniture is old and it looks dirty. Bed sheets were smaller. We asked for another blanket and they didn't have. Very loudly, at midnight people were discussing outside their roomsGenuine Expedia guest review
Se ofreció el servicio de internet. Y jamás me dieron la contraseña. ( nunca la encontraron ). El baño está en pésimas condiciones. Huele muy mal. Nada recomendable. Y por supuesto no vuelvo a comprar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Centro Historico DF"

Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Avoid it if you can"
12/27/13 Paolo C Bolzano, Italy
I have stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in December 2013. It is hard to understand how this structure got 4 stars because I would barely go for max 1. Rooms were pretty spacious but noisy and old. The entire property would need a complete restoration. Bathroom was not properly cleaned and due to some works on pipes we got dirty water for few hours on the second evening. Safe was blocked and despite the trial to have it fixed nothing was done. Avoid this hotel if you can!
"Rooms in poor condition, jacket stolen from room"
06/25/13 Kristin S Austin, Texas
I have stayed in many hostels and hotels and have traveled far and wide, and this hotel was one of the worst ever. Although the location is good, and the price reasonable ($50/night), it wasn't worth half that. Our room was not adequately cleaned (dirty and musty carpet, trash from previous guests left in room, previous guests soap in shower) and the hotel just feels slimy. Internet access promised didn't work, but I could easily have lived with that. The only place that looks like it's been updated in a century is the lobby, so beware! Worst of all, my favorite jacket got left behind in our room, and when we went to claim it the same evening after checking out, it was gone. Granted, some would say, your loss (I left it behind), but any reputable hotel holds onto things their guests leave behind for safekeeping. The staff were extremely evasive and unhelpful, and it took us two days to talk with the housekeeper in charge to get any explanation. I would never stay here or recommend this place to anyone. I will be making a formal complaint to the owners.
"Adequate hotel, great location, friendly staff"

Not the flashest place but does the job. We stayed here with our tour group at a beginning of a tour. Great location, many attractions within a short walk and near to an OXXO (convenience store where you can buy bottled water etc). Rooms are basic but spacious, and have all you need. Beds, bathroom etc were clean. Carpet was maybe a bit dusty and room could get pretty stuffy, but could open a window. When our toilet blocked we only had one day left and were out for most of it so didn't bother telling reception immediately, but when we got back it had been fixed without asking! Staff always had a smile. However, some downsides were that one elevator was always broken so meant that getting up to and down from our rooms could sometimes take a while. Secondly, the walls are PAPER thin. In the bathroom when brushing my teeth I could hear the people in the next room as if I was in there with them! Luckily they weren't too noisy so didn't keep us awake, but i can imagine that if you had a noisy neighbour you might not be as lucky!
"Hot and stuffy and no running water"
03/06/13 Sara024 London
I stayed one night at this hotel at the end of my holiday and that was enough. My room was really hot and stuffy (the hotel has no air con and the fan provided just blew the hot air around the room) and the window would not open making it almost unbearable. The reception said they were fully booked and so could not change the room (I doubt it as they are a very large hotel). The following morning I had a shower about 7am but by the time my partner was up, about 7.20am there was no running water at all; not in the shower, basin or toilet. The reception desk said there would be water in '10 minutes' but by 9.30am and the time we checked out there was still no water. Terrible stay and woudl not recommend this hotel, although if you can cope with the above then the location is great.

Stayed here december 29, 2012-1st room had dirty bathroom, second room not much better. Location is terrific. Many rooms recently renovated -could be cleaned better. After complaining, the hotel made everything right. Also only one of the 2 elevators are in use- they both work but one seems to be on a long term break. this place could be great with a little TLC New linens, towels and beds--looks like they are trying
"Great location, maintenance required!"
07/31/12 Mikaila D Sydney, Australia
I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the start of a tour. The location was fantastic - right in the Historical District. The lane this hotel is located in is not overly safe, however it is close to the main road (approx 100m) which I would consider safe. The first drawback of this hotel was noise. I think the walls may have been out of cardboard. We could hear nearly everything that happened on every floor of the hotel. Sleep was hard to come by. The towels desperately needed replacing. They were tiny and had been washed so many times that they were threadbare. Maintenance is lacking. We had only one light bulb working in our room. The staff appeared to think we were being unreasonable by asking them to replace the bulbs which were not working. The staff did their job but were generally unhelpful and not friendly. The elevator was "hit and miss". Once again, maintenance is needed. If you're looking for a decently priced base for your explorations of Mexico City, I would recommend this hotel for it's location alone. If you are hoping to spend some time relaxing in your hotel room, consider another hotel!
"Inexpensive, clean and great location Hotel"

Great Location very close tov Reforma Av. with acces to public transportation and stores. My room was located on one side of the building with viewing to the back of other constructions....They have old TVs with no cables and no remote controls very inconvinient these days especially that tv are so cheap now days.My first nite could not sleep because of the noise from a bar that is located in the same block..after that it was fine. The Cafeteria is good, excellent service and good food for little money. They should be using the sliding cards to acces the rooms is safer..locks at the doors were not too safe..the simple round locks....Overall good hotel for the price.Inex
"very close to centre and airport"
05/25/12 milankov slovakia
My first touch of Mexico, I spent there 2 nights. Very quiet place, very close to Latino Tower, Zocalo, Templo Mayor, just 20 minutes by walk. On the pavement to main street you can bay very fresh "jugo da narancha" and price is insuperable in whole Mexico, 20 pesos only. Very close are shops, OXXO and restaurants. Comfortable rooms, in that price level.
"Great location and reasonable price but lots of wrinkles"
05/15/12 Stephen T Canberra
We spent three nights here as a start to our Gecko's tour of Mexico. It is a fantastic location, just off Juárez Street and within easy walking distance of the Zocalo (main square) and Centro Antico (old centre). It is also just a short bus ride from the Bosques de Chapultepec, which is West along Reform Street and has many attractions including the AWESOME Muséo de Anthropologie. It is relatively cheap. It is close to a Sanborns restaurant, 24 hour Oxxo convenience store. etc. The staff are helpful. Wireless internet works but only from reception. That is the good news. On the downside, the rooms are worn and only just clean enough. The in-room safes are a disaster. Do not use them. Lock your valuables in the safe deposit boxes at reception. Our room was hot, even in early May, and the fan was minimal and had to be jury rigged from a bathroom socket at night. Also we had a lot of trouble with mosquitos and midges in our room. I strongly suggest you take a spray can of insecticide and use it before leaving your room and do not leave your windows open, especially at night. Only when we did this could we get a decent night's sleep. The restaurant is quaint - and does not necessarily open on time and the creaky lift always stops on level four. We assume that a ghost lives there ;-)
"Seems to have it all, but ..."

We came to Mexico city only for one night to catch the flight back home. We pre-booked it using an agency and hoped for a good place for our last day. We were quite disappointed. We booked a double room, with private bathroom, TV and AC, but we got ... A TV without any single English speaking channel (though we scanned). The AC was a standing movable one which was more of a fan then AC. The internet didn't work (one of the crew helped us and call to confirm the flight details). We ate lunch in the restaurant, it was a 3 course meal but it was served a bit cold. The quality was ok, but not suitable for an hotel. The breakfast wasn't that good either. The better sides are a helpful and kind crew and a very good location, just a walk away from the main historical zone. All in all, we expected a much better place (and didnt mind paying). The place itself is an old hotel and its standards are low. We wouldn't have stayed there more then a night.
