Our family has stayed at this hotel many many times through the years. it's a basic hotel with no bells and whistles. pros... on the beach in a great location. (Grocery across the street) many places to eat and shop within walking. Parks and playgrounds nearby for the kids within blocks. On city bus route also on local free shuttle route. Good size rooms, many with small kitchens. Pool bar, hotel bar with nightly music, and great restaurant and cafe please everyone's taste. hotel staff are very accommodating, friendly and many have been there for years. Large pool and hot tub for swimming or grab a tiki and chairs on the beach. Never overcrowded thanks to the smaller size of the hotel.

I chose it because it was the cheapest option in the area. But looking back, wish I would have paid more for a better stay. Not only is the hotel not in great condition, ( which is OK) but they room was not ready an hour after check in time. And once it was ready, it certainly was not as clean as I would expect at a hotel ( bathroom, no towels, fridge gross) But all of that would be ok, except the sucky customer service that there really is no reason for. The people at the front desk, are just not happy or welcoming. Asking a question was frowned upon. Smiles apparently were illegal. AND THE INTERNET WAS BARELY WORKING IN THE ROOMS. for someone that was there for work, the internet is a must. how is it possible for a hotel to have such sucky internet. their suggestion to me and other guests whose internet was not working:turn your computer off and then on.

Do not stay at this hotel. Very rude employees. Hotel is old and falling apart. The atmosphere around the hotel is like walk of the living dead. It almost feels like a d retirement home. Worst stay at a hotel I have ever had. Shower was moldy and gross. The night we checked in the receptionist said I had to pay for the hotel because it was not paid for. I told them I booked and paid on hotels.com and he said that didn't matter. Never again.

The picture on expedia of the hotel was not the actual outside picture of the hotel. No towels in the hotel. No hot water. Room was suppose to be a beach front view. The room could use some painting and the ceiling also. One of the worse hotels I've been in. Would not recommend it to no one.

My stay was one of the worst stays I have ever had in Miami Beach. I have been going to Miami for the last four years and stay down there for 4 months out of the year as an inspector and I stay in various hotels. My room #239 has a crack in the ceiling the entire length of the room and 1/2 wide, the paint is cracking & peeling in the room, my king bed is old and sags towards the center and when I turned on the bathroom light the roaches scattered and around the a/c vent has black mold. They charge 12 dollars a day for a towel ,beach chair and newspaper which is non-refundable if you do not use any of these services. Parking is across the street in a dirt lot unless you pay for valet to park on their premises. I was there for a week and did not get one good night of rest. For a 3.5 star rated hotel and a 160 dollars a night, I have stayed in Budget Inns that were cleaner.

this is a very interesting hotel. The pool and being beachfront are excellent positives. The room is spacious and it was nice having a small kitchen. However there was mold on the ceiling and the curtains, and the tile does not look like it had been cleaned properly in years. It definitely needed some updating and proper cleaning. They charge you $14 per day to park your car even if you don't drive it anywhere for the day. They also only have one valet person so you end up waiting a long time. also it seems that there is a large French Canadian population which is not a problem . But they blast French karaoke until late at night which is terrible. Overall it wasn't a bad place but I probably would not stay there again

This was my second time at this hotel, both times for weekend getaways. The hotel is not new or modern but it is clean and has great balconies! The area has many restaurants and a supermarket right across the street. Some rooms have kitchenettes (we could smell the bacon next door!) Overall its not pricey like the other hotels in the area so you won't get luxury but you will get friendly service.

The moment I walked in to the room, I saw few cockroaches on top of the sink and stove. Bathroom was dirty. I asked them to provide me with spray for roaches and they responded really quick. The view of the beach is really nice from the hotel. Staffs were not too friendly. Compare to other hotel it was cheap. I guess I got Sevice what I paid for, but the roaches were bonus for new year.

Overall it was ok. The only thing that was bad about my stay was the room location. A lot of the service staff parked nearby my room. they came in and left at all hours. Very loud when entering and leaving verbally. Also most if not all had car alarms on their cars and when they set them they of course did the two car beeps.

At check in The staff was short with answersing questions. Told another customer she didn't have time for this. Valet was not worth the $12 per day. We could never get them on the phone, they never addressed us. Our room did not have a Welcoming feeling to it. Bathroom door would not shut do to layers and layers of paint on ( could have been lead paint). Tile had mold and was coming off the wall, hot water took awhile. My wife saw some baby cockroaches. So needless to say we will not be staying there again. One positive was the view of the pool and the ocean.

I had major concerns with the cleanliness of the room. There were hairs in the tub, a gaping hole in the wall, no weather stripping around the balcony door and as an added bonus, ROACHES IN THE ROOM!!! Although in a great location, the hotel is in serious disrepair and I would not recommend staying there until the facility is updated.

After many enjoyable stays, the hotel had a bad three days-- staff was rude, hotel housekeepers REFUSED to clean room and bring extra towels. Valet was MIA. We will come back, but will not refer others... Very disappointed.

Considering the location, and the dollars that you spend it is a super place to go. The Hotel is clean, the employees are sharp and smart and courteous. I've returned for over 14 years straight. When I go, I know exactly what to expect. Sure it's not top of the line, but it's not at the bottom either. During this period the rating has not gone down. I give it 4 stars!!!

3rd or 4th time my family and I have been in this hotel. Its in an amazing location & everything you need is available at plazas across the street. The staff is always very polite and extremely helpful. The rooms are large and always clean. My only complaint would be about the ancient tv that was in my room that blew a fuse in the middle of the night. But aside from scaring the life out of me it wasn't a big deal, and clearly they are upgrading their rooms little by little because my parent's room had a large flat screen in it.

Drunk people anywhere, talking louder, the personal of the hotel are very rude and do not controlled the guest with inappropriate behavior. You payed to park across the street for two dollars less. It was flooded but I was able to find a dry spot. The pool was old with a lot of sand. I guess the guests didnt think it was important to shower before entering the pool. A shower was available but hidden beach was right there.

Excellent location on Sunny Isles Beach. Unfortunately, the trend is for these once beautiful motels to allow themselves to get run down waiting for the "right price". To eventually give way to a new high rise condo. It appears this hotel has seen better days. Rooms are outdated and cleanliness an issue. The kitchen had an odor of gas coming from the stove. The A/C was hit and miss in that your manual settings seemed to have little to do with eventual airflow. Maintenance and housekeeping staff seemed distant and aloof, requests for additional towels were met with annoyance. The front desk is either rigid or accommodating depending on the luck of the draw. Don't expect any help from the valet and self parking is a mission. Otherwise, the onsite restaurant and bars were fairly good and prices reasonable. Don't expect to get a chair on the beach for free--you gotta pay for that. We were here in the off season, so maybe things are different in the winter. In sum, very reasonably priced room on the beach and located across the street from PUBLIX supermarket if you want to watch the budget. Enjoy

The buildiong is very old, ugly and in bad conditions. Lack of painting and better lobby, better cleaniness. The bathroom terrible, the pool zone totally awful. The employees are not friendly, specially the valet parking (no the Colombian guy) Lack of customer service attitude. I tried to change the hotel...without thinking in how much money i would lose.....I felt very upset...I apologize my family. Bad experience for holydays

The only thing good about the place is being on the beach. The staff acted as if you owe them a tip every time they do their job. Valet parking is not really valet. A valet even told me that " if you have your key why don't you go get your car". The rooms are motel standard. The air conditioning can't be controlled in the rooms, at least not in the ones I had. The towels are dirty and still show stains (yellowish) when I was about to use them. I had to use my own. After 24 hours I had to leave the rooms(2) that I booked for 2 weeks. They never refunded the valet fees at $190 each although the front desk pretended to have done so. Thank god there was a Hampton near by where I stayed for the remainder of the trip.

I pulled up tontine hotel first and asked at the front desk if any rooms available was told yes and the best rate they had was $135/night then I went out to my car and booked it thru hotels.com and got a $89/night rate. My only bad experience when I visited was check in, front desk guy was as rude as it can be, we had an issue with cigarette smell called the front desk and again the same guy told us what can we expect for the price we paid???!!!location was great although it seems a bit outdated

this hotel is right on the beach & there is a bus stop right out the front door for service to other areas along the shore. We stayed 2 nights but did not use the pool (too crowded & no towels available). Lots of good places to eat within walking distance. We tried the El Tropica for excellend Cuban cuisine!

when I booked, paid for a superior room , with sea view.on arrival, I received a simple room, and had no view. The hotel says that when booking right through the Internet is hoteles.com have no right to the superior rooms. also the attitude of the woman in the reception. We stayed for 2 nights April 25 and 26. The location of the hotel is fantastic right on the beach. Our room was clean and served its need with providing us a place to sleep for the two nights. The property itself is dated (which is charming) and tired. It is fairly obvious that the owner is not putting any money into the property as there are high rises being built on both sides of the property and the owner will probably cash out on the land value sometime in the not to distant future. We found a lot of cheap beach/lounge chairs that were cracked and unusable. One thing that was really silly was the "policy" of only allowing 2 beach towels and 2 beach chairs. We were a party of 3 and were told by the "towel police" that rules were rules. The valet parking was very reasonable (by hotel standards) and allowed unlimited in and out privileges. The beach is fantastic and the water really warm. We went into 'South Beach" for dinner both nights and found it to be a 30-40 minute drive. If you are wanting a 5 star property for a 2-3 star price, this is not the place. If you want a clean room for a reasonable price and a beautiful beach this is the spot.

The a/c wasn't working n was told it had just happened overnight. .. security were changing pool rules as they pleased because I guess they were overwhelmed by how many kids and families were there I guess.... this wasn't my first time going there... and I chose to go there because of how it was the last couple of times I had gone... but do they think I'll be going back... there was type of entertainment or anything by the pool area...

Good customer service. I'm happy . Nice ocean view w balcony. The front desk rep who check us in is very nice. Across the hotel has publix where you can buy groceries. Restaurant downstairs is very reasonable price. Nice pool nice beach not crowded. I would stay here again. So glad since we were party of 13 they have big van to take us to the airport. More convenien cheaper price. Thanks for our driver. Conceirge is very helpful.

Rooms are less than averge quality. Pool Chairs limited and plastic. Pool is good. Beach huts are limited only 4/5. Food is good at Cafe and reasonable. Limited access to internet, it does connect well.

Dirty room, broken showers, roach in the cabinet. Book this hotel for 11 nights, on the first night I had to change my room 3 times!!!! Next morning checked out and got refund for the next 10 nights but not for the terrible night that I had. DON'T STAY THERE EVEN IF IT'S FOR FREE!!!!
