It was awful. The reception clerk yelled at me. A dog barked most of the night in the room next door. The reg clerk was so bad that I did not want to go back in when I accidentally locked the key inside the room. The bed was so old that it was not suitable for a hotel. Dish network interrupted for non- payment??? The TV was soooo old the picture was […] too dark to see. The front desk clerk cut in line at breakfast time and took the last english muffin and said I should have oatmeal, that is all there was. Grumpy grumpy grumpy people. Just stayed one over night been here a couple times before. Good location, price is great, room was ok. Non smoking room still smelled of cigarette smoke, took a while to get towels and no soap for dishes. Room was nice be wise had microwave, dishwasher and fridge and price was very reasonable.

I have loved this hotel for years, but no longer do. I booked the room 2 weeks in-advance but just to make sure I got the room I needed, I called the hotel itself to confirm that I needed a room with 2 beds, for persons with disabilities. When I arrived, I was given a room that wasn't what I requested on paper, nor by a phone confirmation. The night […] clerk corrected the mistake but added a sigh with rolling of eyes. Then as I tried to park into the parking spot marked for those with disabilities, nearest the room, a huge rental truck with a trailer was parked across all the spots. I had to park around the corner which meant I was taking another person with disabilities parking spot. When I asked the night clerk to make them move it, he said he "would and if they didn't move it he would call the police to have them move it". I took his word for it, went to eat supper and waited. When it wasn't moved I phoned the police but was told that it "wasn't my property and that the hotel had to call". Due to this one reason, I will find another hotel to stay at. No one person deserves the disrespect I was given, disability or not. The owner and manager should walk the compound, every hour or so, if not more, making sure all is well and their loyal customers are safe and not inconvenienced due to ill mannered people. Also, a replacement of mattresses would be welcome to those that do decide to stay overnight at this once lovely hotel with staff that used to care! Read more

When we first arrive the staff was helpful and got us to our room right away. I requested a downstairs room and I got that. The room was small and not very clean. In dire need of an update. We got the queen room with the sofa bed thinking that it would be enough room for a small with two small kids. I was afraid to let my kids walk in the very nasty […] carpet or sit on the sofa. Both were in need if replacement. I went back to ask for another room and with out question the gentleman working the front desk upgraded us to another room w two double beds. Difficult to find - did not see any signs on St. Francis Drive. In fact, Zia St. sign was hard to see. But, this place was great! Very comfortable, clean rooms and the staff was very helpful & friendly. We would definitely come back now that we know where it is!

Nice folks at front desk and an interesting location, however there were issues with my room. The paint was peeling in the bathroom. Could have replaced the giant garbage pail with one that fit in the bathroom. Kitchen cabinets falling off hinges, blinds broken and wouldn't close and pillows were awful. After a long drive I expected to at least have a comfortable room to spend the night based on other reviews. However, what I found was quite different. The refrigerator was going out and made a loud banging noise a few times per hour making it impossible to sleep, the volume on the tv went in and out which made it impossible to use, the bathroom faucet […] would not shut off and had to be manually turned off underneath, thus making it unusable, it took 30 minutes to fill the tub with a couple inches of water, and light covers were missing. When I informed the front desk the next morning I was told I could talk to a manager but he wouldn't be in for a couple hours. Obviously not wanting to wait, I left my name and number and asked for a call back. Which, one week later, I still have not received. I did not ask for a refund or even a discount (though it was deserved). I simply asked for a manager to give me a call which was apparently too much to have asked. Read more

For the money, it was very satisfactory. Everything appeared very clean but the amenities were inadequate for two people. Also, the wi-fi did not work. When I tried to log on a message saying the account had not been paid popped up.

I have stayed at the Santa Fe Suites at least a dozen times, but Friday night's stay will be my last. My loyalty to the place is done. No more dog to house, no more Santa Fe Suites. I told the clerk I did not have a dog, and yet I was put in what must have been the scuzziest dog-permitted room on the property. Not only was the carpet filthy, it had […] bald spots. Chunks of fabric were worn or torn off the love seat. The love seat's arms were greasy with years of dirty hands resting there. The little sofa table had a stain from what was probably a spill of soda or something. The bathroom was OK, but the towels were old, dingy, thin and didn't carry that vague (and comforting) smell of bleach as they used to. I know that this hotel had been going through a slow but very positive renovation process. I had hoped that without a dog I might actually get a room that had been updated. The hotel was not full - there were lots of empty parking spaces and dark windows that evening - so why did I get such a nasty room? What is the process for deciding which room to give out? Were they saving the best for last or something? It made no sense to me and I'm pretty irked even three days later. In ALL of my previous reviews of this hotel, I have been truthful and rated the place much higher. It used to be a gem of a place - clean and convenient and pet friendly. I thought the hotel was great. Nothing too fancy, but it was modern enough and clean. Location wasn't anything special, but it doesn't claim to be right in downtown. It is an inexpensive hotel for Santa Fe. The bed was definitely springy. The window shade was broken. To get to the hotel is a drive through a parking lot for a number of stores and offices. It has a usable small kitchen. The hotel does have accessible bathrooms. The wireless connection was slow. The decor is nice.

We live a long way from things so the location was not a problem for us. Parking was free in some spots in town and we like to walk. It was a quick simple drive to the historic downtown. We had a nonsmoking room, but there was a smoky smell in our room throughout our stay. Would suggest a more nutritious breakfast -- with fruit and more substantial fare. What we got was pretty insubstantial. Other than these things, our stay was decent.

The hotel was great for the price. The service was great! They gave us everything we asked for. The location was convenient to major roads. It's not the most scenic location. The room and bathroom were very clean! The building is a little old so there are minor issues with paint. It was a great place to stay and visit Santa Fe on a budget.

For the price this place can't be beat if you don't mind staying outside of the city center and want to save money by having a kitchen (stovetop & cooking stuff). Just visiting Santa Fe for a little family getaway. Was close enough to the center of town, in a nice area, and really not far from anything you'd want to do in Santa Fe. The first night we stayed in a very nice, clean room. Small, but didn't matter since we were just resting there and sleeping. However, we have 2 kids (12 and 6), and they had to share […] a VERY tiny pull-out sofa bed. It looked like a twin! They were very uncomfortable and didn't sleep well. The second night, we changed rooms to two full sized beds, which was fine. The carpet in the second room was a little scary, and the pillows weren't great (luckily, we had brought our own to use in the car!)
