This charming hotel has been restored to its former 1920's elegance. Whether as a guest of the hotel enjoying a generous complimentary breakfast or an attendee at the nightly musical event in the bar/lobby this is a fun place to be. Each hotel room has […] its own unique decor incorporating antique furniture pieces, elegant window treatments, crystal chandeliers, and small but adequate marble-enhanced bathrooms that offer all the modern amenities such as rain shower-heads, well chosen toiletries and lighted make-up mirrors. Beds are wonderful with plenty of pillows and a down comforter. The room HVAC unit has a guest controlled thermostat but was a bit noisy for light sleepers. We found it more restful to just open the window. Hotel staff is helpful, friendly and and very attentive to the needs of their guests. A Historic Landmark, the Culver Hotel is in the heart of Culver City, home of Sony Studios and former location of MGM. The hotel was the temporary domicile of the Munchkins during the making of the film Wizard of Oz. Just across the way is a building that may be recognized as Tara in Gone with the Wind. The Culver Hotel is the heart of a neighborhood easily enjoyed on foot with appealing restaurants and shops and, of course, a movie theater. The hotel is convenient to the freeway. They have arrangements with a parking structure 1 block away for secure overnight parking at a discount from regular rates. Soon there will be a Metro stop within walking distance where visitors will be able to catch the light rail to other destinations around Los Angeles. Read more

Was working near here for a week and the location was amazing. Not only was in convenient for this trip because I was working so close to the hotel but it would be a great place to take a family on vacation. I enjoyed my stay at the Culver City Hotel! The staff was incredibly nice, the decor had a sort of vintage charm. I had a fantastic dinner by the fire. Convenient to bars, restaurants, starbucks, and valet service at the door. Definitely recommend, although you can hear activity outside, so not for someone that wants a quiet getaway!

My husband and I just stayed for a night, and I must say we were thoroughly impressed with the look and feel of the room, the lobby, and the architecture of the building. The Culver has an old Hollywood vintage glamour about it. Every bit of detail from the dramatic drapes in the lobby to the marble floors in our bathroom were absolutely beautiful. […] Even my hubby thought the vintage/modern details were so pretty, and he's not even into vintage. The service was superb, bed comfortable, and the atmosphere cozy. Only downside is the parking structure is not attached, so you have to walk half-a-block to your car. This is a very cute, historic hotel. The room in this 1924 vintage wedge-shaped hotel was fully renovated, comfortable, and modern. My only complaint about the room is that it was on the 4th floor facing a busy street and subject to a fair amount of street noise, even with the windows closed. It was a nice place for an evening stroll and dinner. The hotel has it's own restaurant with nightly live music. Continental breakfast was included and offered a limited set of choices, but was adequate. The hotel has no parking spaces of it's own and offers valet and self parking options for a fee. We opted for self parking which is located in a city public structure some distance from the hotel, but still an easy walk with luggage on rollers. Had a great weekend in LA and staying at the Culver was one of the highlights. Great location, wonderful atmosphere and polite staff. Highly recommend.

We love this sweet old fashioned very clean eclectic Charmer. Helpful lovely staff , comfy bar within Walking distance to shops etc . A great place to use when you have to late nights onthe west side and want none of those attitudes from that side of town D and J ,Pasadena

Culver city was a very central location for all of my business meetings, and the Culver Hotel was the perfect place for me to stay. Near a TON of great restaurants, it was never difficult to find a good meal. Rooms were comfortable. Nice beds, flatscreen TV, free wifi. Stayed here before,like it the first time, not happy this time because they were filming a movie there and i couldnt check in till later,like 7 and could not go into bar or downstairs room till 12. should have been made aware of this prior,was not happy,felt like i wasted my money. Next time they should let you know in advance

I loved this hotel. Comfortable clean room, perfect location, walking distance to great stuff in Culver City. A little pricier than I usually go with, but overall a great hotel.

My daughter and I recently stayed 6 nights. We enjoyed the preservation and enhancement of its historic environment- the woodwork, the furniture, the fireplace, the carved oak room furniture. Multiplex theater and tasty restaurants are within a few minutes walk. Culver City is an oasis in the LA madness. I've stayed here a number of times over the years and it just keeps getting better. The current owners have done a great job of renovating over time and it's fun to see the changes each time. The guest rooms themselves have now been updated - great bathrooms and all of the amenities. And they have kept the charm of the hotel intact.

Every stay here is a delight. The remodeled rooms are lovely and comfy. I do wish the shower glass was easier to reach around. When showering, it's fine, however I tried bathing two children in the tub and discovered there's no easy way to drain the tub or turn water on and off with the fixed half-glass shower "curtain." Historic and well run

Great Location, and the historic hotel was a bonus to the area. Will be back again. Also the new added touches to the room is a great swing on the old design.

Wonderful stately hotel nestled literally in the center of the downtown of Culver City. An excellent launching point for folks not just visiting CC but all of LA-- not too far from West LA/Santa Monica, downtown LA or elsewhere. Rooms were SUPERCLEAN. Being a historic hotel the one main hangup is that back in the day, closets were always quite small... […] rooms here have very little room for hanging suits/dresses. Apart from that, however, the only other "negative" was I did notice on some hallways walking to my room and some carpets were a bit dated and needed cleaning/fresh coat of paint... The lobby was wonderful (with LIVE JAZZ for 3 hours on many nights!) and the neighborhood is fantastic... tons of great restaurants/pubs/etc all walking distance (most of which are literally within 1-2blocks) Read more

My daughter was attending the LA Tapfest and we wanted to stay close by. This hotel is a historical treasure! Even though there is a renovation project planned, this did not impede the charm or service one iota. The hotel is run-down, dirty and there were a million ants in our room crawling all over the nightstand, trash cans and floor. There is no dresser to put your clothes in, there is very poor lighting, parking is over a block away. The carpeting is dirty. I would definitely never stay here again nor recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is in the center of a dining mecca. There are high quality restaurants nearby. Close to the I-10 and I-405. Extremely comfortable and clean rooms with an immaculate bathroom. The only disappointment was the complimentary continental breakfast. It consisted of a loaf of bread, a toaster, orange juice and coffee.

We stayed at the Culver Hotel for Memorial Week-end. We chose to stay at a cheaper hotel Friday night because we knew we would arrive late and have no time to enjoy the hotel that night. The bathrooms are up to date with beautiful steam showers and all of the furniture gives you the feel of the 20's We had happy hour down in the lobby and also visited the bar later on for some drinks. After reading reviews on this site, we were able to find Trader Joes for some snacks and a great place for breakfast that has all you can drink Mimosas and divine eggs benedict! We stayed at the culver to be close to the airport for our drive in. We we're pleasantly surprised with the neighborhood. There are a lot of restaurants to chose from,so we had apps in three different places. On the night we we're there(tuesday)there was a farmers market going on right across the street. The municipal parking (across the street) staff does not understand arrangement with the hotel regarding the duration of the parking ticket. We stayed four nights at "The Culver". The history of hotel is charming and the restoration very nice. The hotel has around 50 rooms on six floors and provides a cozy and private atmosphere. The rooms are well appointed, comfortable, have fantastic beds, and offer great views. The staff were all very customer oriented and always helpful and pleasant. […] There was different live muscial entertainment every evening int the bar/lounge area making it a very active and inviting place to hang out. Lot's of buzz. The hotel is in a perfect location which is diverse and vibrant. The surrounding areas offers a panoply of restaurants, shops, wine bars, and two theatres. There is a Trader Joe's just next door to meet any food needs. We visited a different restaurant each evening after spending the day in the LA area. There are art galleries just a short walk away. I picked the hotel based on location in between several activities. I didnt realize this was a historical hotel. The hotel was a cool boutique hotel with lively but laid back wine bar and jazz scene in the lobby. My room was quiet and comfortable. No desk but it all worked out. Service was very good.

Really can't complain about anything. My room had a bathtub though, not a full shower, just so you're not surprised. Continental breakfast was a bit weak, but you can order from the restaurant as well. Live music every night at the bar was also nice.
