My husband, son and I had a wonderful stay here. Every member of the staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good, especially the oatmeal which was nice and hot. This hotel is close enough to the subway station (Kipling), which we took everyday into Toronto. Would stay here again because of it all.

This hotel doesn't look like much from the road, but on the inside (where it counts) it is stellar. The staff was friendly and professional beyond my expectations. The room was updated with beautiful finishes and fixtures, and tons of space as well (standard king #118) featuring feather pillows, luxurious duvet, his/hers plush terry bathrobes, HD flat […] screen TV, convenient workspace, and even an iHome alarm clock. Although I didn't utilize the kitchen area much, there were new stainless appliances, even a dishwasher! The bathroom included a soothing shower head with excellent water pressure and a large granite-topped vanity. Common areas were spacious and clean and breakfast was far beyond continental with hot choices and fresh items as well. A great gym, indoor pool, and pretty courtyard really make this place standout. The rooms were very clean with double beds, big screen TV, full kitchen, sofa bed. Great for families who are travelling. Its very close to the airport and 20 mins from downtown. Staff is excellent and the price i paid for a standard suite was spectacular. Free WiFi and breakfast sealed the deal.

Was a fine hotel for the night as we drove through, however not a place I would stay for much longer. We walked in and found hairs on our pillows, needless to say we used our own. Hotel is outdated, but not a reason to disregard it. Not much for TV stations, a few restaurants a short drive away, no pool either.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while visiting Toronto. The room was nice because we could put the baby in the bedroom and close the door and still stay up to watch TV. They provide everything for a little kitchenette. We would recommend this hotel. The breakfast was pretty good and the staff was nice.

For the price and the quality, it was well worth it. A 10 minute drive from a subway stop that was another ~20 minutes into Toronto and saved over $50 a day and got a continental breakfast and free parking and internet. This is our first time ever writing a negative review, because we are not negative people. But this was different. We booked this hotel for one night because it was reasonably priced, close to the airport, and offered complimentary breakfast. There were four of us, two adults with two teenagers. We booked their "superior queen" room that supposedly […] had two queen beds and a sofa bed. We arrived late at night, and while the outside of the hotel looked nice, the floor that our room was on was had a bunch of junk laying on this bench as soon as you got off the elevator, and garbage and food crumbs all over the carpet. Then we get to our room and discover two DOUBLE beds crammed together in this semi-separated room. There was no bedding for the sofa bed, in spite of the fact that the man working at the desk said that the sofa bed was already made up with the bedding. When I went back down to get bedding for it, I was given one sheet and a flimsy blanket. The sofa bed was horribly uncomfortable and when it was folded out, there was absolutely no room to move around it. Then, to top it all off, there were all these noisy birds we could hear all night long. Worse sleep we've ever had. We were so grouchy the next morning that we didn't even bother to stay for the complimentary breakfast! Read more

This was our second time staying at Sandalwood (4 nights) and the hotel again did not fail us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The service lady was very nice and she did a great job cleaning the room, which is quite cozy and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet, which is important if you plan on getting a good night's sleep. About 10 minutes from the hotel is a busy shopping area (around the oceans asian supermarket) and some nice restaurants. Also, you don't have to pay for parking which is another plus compared to average $50/day at other locations. For the money, Sandalwood is an excellent choice. I was impressed with the location, the clealiness and decor and the helpful staff. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we were able to prepare our lunches and dinner with the stove and microwave. He first began telling me I had to speak to the humane society because I left them in the room. But he had confused me with anothe woman who had let her dogs off the lease walking outside. The only issue I had was that we checked in late at night-around 11:30 p.m. When we came to check in, the receptionist informed me that they didn't have the room I requested, which was a double/double non-smoking room. There are pocket doors that separate the beds from the t.v./kitchenette area. There was a pull out sofa and a nice size dinette table with 4 chairs. Also, a dorm size refridgerator and a microwave were in each room. The continental breakfast was typical, nothing special or out of the ordinary. The only thing really lacking was a pool, as the facility did not have one. And every once in a while, you could hear a plane taking off, but it wasn't very frequent at all. The fitness room was nice, even though we did not have time to use it. The complimentary wireless internet worked well once we got it up and running.
