I guess for my particular need this is not very convenient. I live with my kids periodically every month and if it is just a pleasure trip, this is just perfect, do what you want outside, come and rest. But, staying inside for hours a bit drag. "Best Hotel in the Area"
Since this was a business trip, we were gone from the hotel all day and getting in at around 10pm or so. Overall, this hotel is the best in the area. It is walking distance to the mall, Chili's and Walgreens are literally next door. The staff are very nice and friendly. "Laptops and suitcase Stolen from Days Inn Milpitas"
Had a terrible experience at the Days Inn San Jose Milpitas during a recent trip with family. A large suitcase with both our laptops and personal items was stolen from the hotel room during the day. The hotel staff and management were very unhelpful and unapologetic. When I first reported the problem to the hotel manager, he stated that he knew where […] the bag was and pulled aside his housekeeping staff and talked to them, but could not retrieve the bag. A report was filed with the local police and it was noted by them that there was no forced entry into the room. We checked out of the hotel immediately. The rooms have direct access from the parking lot and outside, and apparently we found out later that there are no security cameras around the premises. The hotel manager did not return any calls either. Days Inn corporate customer service was also unhelpful, and informed this would have to be resolved directly with the hotel owner and took no responsibility or concerns on improving security. Additionally, internet wi-fi was also non-functional, general hotel and room conditions poor. "Absolutely the worst hotel staff one can ever find"
The real trouble came about a week into the stay, we missed a checkout one day and was confronted with a clerk who demanded that we pay the house rate, and that it was "too late to extend the booking online." Really? We just gave your hotel over a week's worth of business and we couldn't get a tiny shred of grace when we are about to give you more business? […] We added two more nights online and on the morning of, we showed up at the front counter and was told that the booking we made the previous night did not show up in their system, 10 phone calls between the website and the hotel later, we finally got the clerk to say that she did finally get the confirmation and would "input it later." First night, no incident, so it's safe to assume that everything is good right? Wrong! The second night we found ourselves locked out of the room, the clerk is apparently irresponsible on top of being rude, and for whatever reason had only entered a single night for a two-night reservation. This was 11pm on a Tuesday night, and we eventually spent close to another hour before everything was finally sorted out. But no apologies, nothing; that's how they say thank you at this hotel at the end of a two week stay: by carelessly entering your booking information, making you fight for the room that you had paid for, and giving you attitude for using their establishment. The hotel is well below "OK" standard. The first night we were placed in a dirty room that have food particles and other nasty stuff. I even stepped on a piece of metal that looks like a bracket for something when i got out of bed.. The sink had a serious leak. Then we were moved to a different room which was slightly better than the first one, but […] the face plate in the shower pulls away from the wall when you pull the knob to turn the shower on. Like the first room we were in, the beds are worn. There was a night when we asked for more towels because the room was made up that day that had towels just for one person. When I called the front desk, the staff insisted that there were enough towels for two. I had to go to pick them up myself. When I got to the front desk, the staff person was busy chatting with a person that does not even look like a hotel guest. Overall hotel staff need to look more professional and skills to go with it. This hotel was a good spot for a one-night stay during our road trip through California. Besides being clean it was really quiet even though most rooms appeared to be full. The cons were: the wi-fi doesn't work anywhere but in the lobby; the breakfast was stocked but white-bread only; the staff person who checked us in was curt and too busy talking […] with friends to give us the time of day. I checked in and they were so booked there was no where for me to park,I had to park in front of a restaurant in front of the hotel. The beds were so uncomfortable you could feel the springs in the mattress. There was no lock on the bathroom door for privacy. Our flight was delayed by six hours and we arrived around midnight. The computer showed no vacant rooms (we had a prepaid, guaranteed reservation). The clerk had to go find an unoccupied room. At breakfast our second morning, there was no regular coffee, no plates, and one waffle iron was not working. Presumably they were short of staff. At check out […] after a four-night stay, the clerk stayed on the phone about 10 minutes without even acknowledging my presence. "Close to plenty stores and restaurants"
The stay was nice. The staff were nice during check-in and check-out. They seemed to be out of supplies though. When I checked in, they only found one key and since I was rushing I had to go back for a second key the next morning (it wasn't that much of an issue). Because we didn't want service for the room, I didn't really think it was that important that the front didn't have some items. Im sure if I had insisted in getting the items I needed, they would have accommodated me. The breakfast was okay. It consisted of waffles, muffins, bagels, cereal, and the usual breakfast beverages. It is located in the lobby with some tables, chairs, and a couch. The television in the breakfast room was pretty small. "Met our Needs"
We chose this hotel because we knew it would be convenient to all freeways.The rates were economical. I had booked 2 rooms and was disgruntled that the hotel reception area didn't foresee that we would want rooms next to each other.They did eventually find us rooms on the same floor. The front desk employee seemed more interested in her phone conversations […] than on assisting us. The delay in getting rooms next to/near each other seemed to be because housekeeping hadn't cleaned all the rooms. It was after 5 p.m. before we got the other room on the same floor. The room next door to mine had what appeared to be maintenance people in there sleeping. The door was open. The rooms were cleaned daily and sufficiently considering our travel clutter.
