We had a great room reserved at another nearby hotel. Our flight was cancelled due to a pending snowstorm, and we were unable to arrive on the day we planned-- so we cancelled the first reservation. When we finally arrived in Miami--we needed a room for one night. This was the only place available in South Beach on Valentine's Day. It cost considerably […] more than the previous room we had reserved. The carpet looked dirty. The bedding looked shabby-- like Goodwill hand me downs. The internet was vey slow in the room, so I gave up on it-- but it did work faster sitting in the lobby. There was no hair dryer in the room, and it took them an hour to bring one. At least the in room safe worked. In the lobby at checkout, it seems like several other customers had disputes with the front desk-- although the people who worked there were courtesy to us. It really wasn't that bad..... Location was perfect and the rooms weren't that bad at all. However, I was barely ever in the room, that is. I'd probably stay again just for the location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"if going to sleep..."
continental breakfast: in the hotel next to Geneva, in Parisian (Geneva has nothing, not even check in/check out desk) coffee (not decafenate), cream, tea, cake, orange juice (not natural); no milk, no...; microwave with the plate broken, everything was dirty, and if you want a spoon and the workes dont want to look for it they give you a fork... Rooms: […] they are clean, and the housekeeper its very nice and available; but if you dont smoke, dont stay in this hotel, because throught the ventilation system you can wake up with cigarettes smell everywhere in your room. no elevators... late check out: if you ask someone at the evening or night you want to do late check out, they will let you FOR FREE until 12pm (the check out time its at 11am), if you do this and check out at 12pm, you will be charged your deposit, because the girl who is in the morning says any day is holiday (as you dont know when is holiday in miami and she thinks in internet its imposible to find that info) or she might say the hotel its full and you cant stay more than 11am (here you cant also go to hotel.com and try to make a reservation for 8 rooms, just to check if really the hotel its full)... so if you want to deal with this kind of people, and spend very bad times during your vacations, you can stay in this hotel... "Need to know the reality"
The location of the hotel was the only good thing about my decision to live in the Geneva. Rest was a wash out. Starting from the check in to check out, the hotel room condition, the bed, pillow, uncontrollable air-conditioning and bathroom (shower etc). It was a total disaster, i cant believe how you can survive as a hotel with this presentation. Morning […] breakfast, is a total joke and no parking ( it cost an extra $30 to park your car per day, don't forget to add it to your/day rate. Personally i have never lived in a disastrous hotel like this and i hope i never will. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"You have to have a sense of humor to appreciate"
Make no mistake - this is a gutter. If you must stay here please make sure you arrive during the daytime when it looks best or you're going to be scared for your life, and I'm saying this as a large male and long time Miami ex-resident. At night the hotel looks like a near-abandoned community housing project for distressed families. The lobby is so […] sparse and badly maintained and shady-looking dudes are just inexplicably lingering there. Luckily our Geneva booking somehow got moved to their Parisian property next door as both are managed by the same bell desk. The room itself looks like it has been untouched since 1974 -- strange paint, ugly furniture, bed cloths straight from the thrift shop. The TV displays one channel. The continental breakfast was a delicious pastry and coffee -- that's it. The entire experience screams poverty and apathy, only made worse by the rudest woman I've ever met working a front desk. I didn't even voice a complaint or have any requests and she was just beaming with "I've had a rough job here and want everyone to know it". The comedy and punchline is that the lobby shares a rental space with a LAMBORGHINI luxury rental company, so you have these ballers in there booking these lavish cars while the hotel is a total bust. Do yourself a favor and avoid this property until they can spare a few hundred bucks for paint and decor. It was gross gross gross! You can do better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The WORST HOTEL EVER. But location was great. I barely was in the room anywayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The only positive thing about this hotel that was close to the beach. When I saw my room, I was shocked. Small room, dirty bathroom. The towels were like sandpaper, it was sratching. The beds were even worse, the string was poking my ribs, it was creaking. I had to get new cards for my room every single time I left the hotel, because I couldn't get in […] the room. There is NO way I would stay in this hotel any more. "Not worth it..."
When we got there the man at the front desk told us we booked a room with a SHARED bathroom on the floor... That was unacceptable so we had no choice but to pay to "upgrade" the room. The beds were so hard and uncomfortable, it was like you were sleeping on a floor. Most of the outlets in the room don't work, I had to charge my phone in the bathroom. […] The amount of noise all night long is ridiculous, doors constantly slamming, people yelling. Pay the money to sleep somewhere nicer, seriously. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"This is the hell of South Beach"
Absolutely the bigest mistake for choosing this hotel which looked cheaper but not worth a penny. The whole time we were wondering is there any kind of a city or a state requirements before you open a hotel. Please DO NOT make thr same mistake as us and find some other hotel even if you have to pay few more dollars.Genuine Expedia guest review
When I got there the person at the desk was very smart at the mouth. Told me that my children couldn't stay in the room with me because I didn't pay for them and they have to sit in the lobby.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great Staff & Location!"
I found the Staff to be friendly and helpful. I was spontaneously lent a beach umbrella that was an awesome gesture from the cleaning staff. Beach towels were also borrowed. Only complaint was that the bed was quite uncomfortable. Location was great to the beach, restaurants and shopping!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Crapy hotel - Good location - Good price"
The hotel has a good location close to restaurants, bars and beach and the price is good. The standard for the room is bad and the cleaning is not good either. The breakfast is cake and coffee so if you want real food for breakfast you need to by it other place. If you need to park your car you will need to park it in a garage close to the hotel with […] was 20$ per day. Then you can pick it up an return it when you want. "My Nights in HELL"
01/04/14 Scottienga Alpharetta, Georgia
We arrived in Miami only to be treated rudely. The staff was more interested in eating his burrito then helping a guest. We arrived a day early, but I did call and was told no problem. The desk clerk did not know what to do and was getting irritated. This got straightened out and got our room keys. We were informed that there is an additional deposit of $50. I asked what is that for, "for late check out we keep the deposit". The clerk then informed us that there is no parking for guests and that we have park across the street at the Oceans Hotel (where we should have stayed); that was an addition $100 for our 5 day stay. When all said and done; we went to our room. A basic room nothing fancy. I posted pictures of the substandard items in this hotel room. Come to find out that it is half hotel and half hostile. You can not imagine the noise from people partying and talking in the halls. We would have moved to another hotel but it was the week between Christmas and New Years and we had our dogs with us. Not too many options. Every morning no hot water and on our last day no electricity. The phone did not work the entire we were there so you can't call the front desk. No breakfast as advertised on their web site. Pet friendly - only that they let them stay there. There is no green space for my dogs to do their business. If I could give a half dot I would. Please DO NOT GO THERE. We were treated rudely and disrespected everyday. Go some place that appreciates you as a valued guest.
"Large Room and Great Location"
12/15/13 luke47 virginia
The room was very large and clean. Beautiful original hardwood floors. The bed spread and curtains were old and outdated. Big bathroom. We had a room at the end of the hall, so it was pretty quiet. The location is GREAT (two blocks from the beach) , thus making this room a good value. The continental breakfast was a little sparse: Nondescript breads in a plastic bag, but good coffee and juice. The front desk help ware nice, not super friendly, but not rude. For the money and location in South Beach, this hotel is a good deal.

My overall views of this place & staff :- Rude. Unhelpful. Grubby. Umcompromising. Customer always right? I don't think so. Makes Fawlty Towers on a bad day seem like Claridge's. Would I return? No. Can I recommend it? No
"The worse hotel i have ever stay"

"WORST HOTEL EVER"
07/12/13 Caitlin7458 Fayetteville, Georgia
This hotel was dis-gus-TING! Where do I start!? There's urine all over the pillows, the sheets look like they should have been thrown away before the end of the 20th century, and I was not allowed to bring in my Chinchilla (SOO ridik) do not stay here unless you want your animals to be rudely turned away at the door and your hair to smell like your toilet! geneva? more like genev-NO
"WORST hotel experience ever... BEWARE!"
06/18/13 Laura A Long Beach, New York
This hotel is so below standard. The woman at the front desk is rude, demeaning, and unfriendly. The rooms are even worse than the lady at the front desk; the pillows have drool stains, the room smells, and the television in the room is straight out of the 1980s (while most standard hotels have flat screens). After scoping out the room for about one full minute, I requested a refund... They had the nerve to tell me, "This is a 2-star hotel and if you want quality you should have went to the Loews, we don't provide refunds." I ended up not getting a refund, and going across the street to the Loews hotel where the service and quality is beyond amazing. I am currently disputing the charge with the bank since the thieves at Parisian & Geneva have refused to willingly give me my money back.
"A Crack House In Miami Beach"
05/06/13 Andre L Miami, Florida, United States
I wish I could explain in more detail how nasty and unsafe this hotel is. Lets start with safety; the door security latch is barely hanging on the door. It seems as if that particular door had been knocked down already. The floor is nasty and missing pieces of tiles, the cabinets are barely in place and I know they have been there since the 40's or 50's. The bathroom well lets just write that I would not shower there. Matter of fact I felt like not touching anything, it was just a nasty place. A crack house is better than this place, my dogs house is better than this place. It should be an embarrassment to the owner of this place to rent any room. I wonder if they ever read these reviews. I wonder if they have any PRIDE or OWNERSHIP. The worst ghetto crack house would put this place to shame.
"One of the worst stay in my life."
05/04/13 Maxconti Trento, Italy
I travelled a lot around the world, both in first and third world Countries. Honestly this is one of the worst hotel i've ever experienced in my life, even worse than some places in Cambodia or Myanmar. Everything, from the staff manners to the forniture in the rooms, to the cleanliness of the whole structure is an insult to any paying client. I wouldn't suggest this hotel to my worst enemy. The only advantage is the position in South beach, really central and close to the beach. Apart from that, nothing good in there. Anyway, there is a reason why the most of the comments on Tripadvisor about this hotel are extremely negative.
"it ruined our stay in miami beach"
there are no words to describe this place. Everything was super old and dirty. Some of the outlets in our room didn't work, the floors were filthy. One of the beds was tilted. And the bathroom was the worst ever!!! The water almost didn't flow in the shower, there was no pressure or whatsoever- it took me 20 min just to get wet, and twice more to wash away the soap and shampoo, the staff was not friendly at all (the guy at the front desk seemed to be absolutely indifferent and careless).
