The service at the front desk was decent. The room could have been a lot better. There was no cover on smoke detector. The wall in the bathroom had hole in it. At least one of the comforters had a hole in it, like a burn. Breakfast was a great disappointment. First of all, you can tell that this Econlodge used to be under a more up-scale brand - very nice indoor pool and lobby. The staff is friendly and the rooms are nice - escpecially for the price that is charged. The layout of the common areas is spendid, although they need cosmetic/decorating maintence. Capeting is worn and needs to be replaced. Rooms […] are comfortable but the TV is old and the channle selections are very limited. The free breakfast is not at all healthy - mostly sugar & starch. I had a fridge in my suite, but no microwave - go figure. If you JUST want a nice & quiet place to sleep that right off I-65 within 2 minutes of US 30 or within 5 minutes of I-94 then this is your hotel. Read more

This hotel was the most uncomfortable stay that I have had at a hotel. When I walked into the room there were spots on the carpet that looked like it was missing or faded. There was an inch of dust behind the bed side table. I had dirty towels in my room and the batteries were corroded in the remote and it did not work. The pillows needed to be replaced […] they were hard and lumpy. The final straw was when I was going out one morning I walked past the front desk and the person at the front looked me right in my eyes and did not say good morning or smile. It was an okay place for a teenagers party. That's why we went there and the price was great. The rooms did smell of smoke, and one of our assigned rooms was still dirty at check in. The pool could have stayed open longer since it was the weekend. But the staff was courteous, helpful.

the room was okay you get what you pay for. just want people to know that this is more of a residential hotel (I would say most of the rooms are occupied by people who live there all the time) its not a hotel for vacationers.

We'd stayed at this location before when it was a different chain. Couldn't beat the price. Carpet showed some obvious signs of wear, but it really didn't bother us. The staff was friendly, the pool was excellent, the kids had a great time. Only negative thing I would say is that for the breakfast time, they only had one person who had to work the desk […] and replenish the breakfast. People were frequently having to go to the desk to get things as simple as more spoons. But, not a huge deal, considering what we paid. I was not so sure about staying here due to the reviews. But after my stay it was worth the money I paid. Staff was great...I did not visit the pool area but was told by another guest to check it out. Didnt eat the breakfast there had a late night. but overall it was great!

The rooms and hallway were not clean. There were holes in the walls. The bathrooms were disgusting! The carpents were stained and looked like they were from the seventies (and had not been cleaned since then).The pool was filmy and felt oily, smelled salty when we used it. After being in the room ready or bed. Going o the bathroom, dirty wah cloth, dirty towel. I than noticed all they did was make the beds. Dump! Stay at red roof inn 1 exit up.

The wi-fi connection would not allow my laptop to connect to the internet. My laptop was purchased in December 2011 new. My stay was fine. I did not see the swimming pool advertised on the web-site. That was a plus I noted. I will be returning to the area later this year and plan to stay at this facility again.

The hotel is basically nice but the hallway I used had peeling wallpaper which is easily fixed. The breakfast is very sparse and it seems no one attends to it. At 7 am there was little left and the trash can was literally overflowing. They are either woefully understaffed or the staff doesn't care.

This is an extremely nice hotel for the price: big rooms and nice common areas. Only con was front desk staff that did not care one bit. We arrived at midnight to a locked front door. When arriving at the hotel at check in time, the room was not ready. We had to wait for about 15-20 min. They told us the room was not cleaned yet. When we got to the room, it wasn't the cleanest, so I dont know what the delay was. The air conditioner did not work properly, instead of dealing with the not so friendly front desk, we cleaned the filter […] ourselves and then it seemed to work better. Since the room was not equipped with ironing amenities, we borrowed an iron and an ironing board from the desk. I could not believe the iron that they loaned out to their guests. It was a very old model with a completely burned plate. Not something I would want to use on my clothes, especially something I am wearing to a wedding. I would love to send you a picture of it if you would like. Very embarassing. Upon checking out I returned the iron (which we did not use, we went to Target and bought one instead). When returning the iron I told the desk attendant that they need to get a better iron. She responded with "Why doesn't that one work?" I said "I have no idea if it works, would you want to use this on your clothes? It's not something you should be loaning out to your guests" She said "No I wouldnt want to use that" If you would not want to use it on your own items, why on earth would you want your guests who are paying a pretty penny to stay there to use it???
