It was basically a sleepover while moving kids to college. Hotel was under renovation...little noisy and dirty. Comfortable room. Don't usually book a suite for just the two of us, but it was all I could find in that location with a price I could afford.

Based upon price, we did not expect things to be as clean, updated, and prepared as it really was. Would come back again for either business or pleasure. I am new to the Candlewood Suites concept, did not know housekeeping only comes once a week, and if you want clean towels or more coffee for the room, you have to get it from the front desk. We were in town for a football game at Big House, great location for that, stadium was less than 2 miles away.

Although room was a "smoke free" room, it smelled like it had been smoked in. It was not a fresh odor. Bathroom floor could have been cleaned better. Solid price & great location for seeing the UM campus and getting to the Big House. That is what I was looking for and that is what I got. Staff was nice, though the condition of the hotel was average - but it isn't so bad it ruins the experience. They also have a room (open 24 hours) stocked w/ food & drinks which was pretty cool.

The bed is comfortable. Half kitchen, desk, free wifi, bathroom were all great. Hotel staff was friendly. Would recommend this hotel. The only downside was the air conditioning didn't work right.

My overall stay at the hotel was good except for the problems that I had with the toilet constantly over flowing! I had to contact the front desk twice about the toilet overflowing. The first time around 1:00am and then again the very next morning. They were prompt in getting tyhe problem resolved!

Room had a peculiar odor. Bed was to be queen however it was only a double bed, (that was in all rooms, mis representation on the web-site). Staff was courteous but not helpful. Next time I would look for something else.

Love the size of the room, full-sized fridge, microwave, range, dishwasher, lg. bathroom, recliner, TV w/DVD/VCR player, and comfy bed. It is close to U of M and MHNI for medical treatments as well as great restaurants & shopping right off Ann Arbor […] Saline Rd. and Washtenaw Ave. It is nice to be able to go to RedBox around the corner to rent movies! I thought the hotel was just fine, especially considering how cheap it was. I did find myself driving to find something to do, because basically this is in a business district/office park, and you have to be near the university to find a coffee shop or something to do. But I actually really loved the room, the kitchenette, and the great staff.

Best value for the money - complete kitchen, very well stocked with dishes and utensils to prepare anything you want - dish soap included (not provided in other kitchen-suite hotels). Very clean room, everything in good repair. Quiet, nice neighborhood. I loved it!

The hotel is average--not terrible, not the Hilton. It was a great value for its services. The hotel staff was curteous, and the room has a kitchenette. The room was clean and comfortable overall. My only compliants were that: (1) the hallways smelled a little funny (but I just reasoned that this is an extended stay hotel, so it'll be like an apartment […] building); (2) the air conditioning was very moist and dewy, but I just opened the window and it helped; and (3) I wish someone would've been at the front desk all of the time, not in certain blocks. The best part is the surrounding area. A great Whole Foods is right across the street, and it's within 3-9 blocks from U of Michigan (depending where you want to go). I loved Ann Arbor! (and this is from a native Ohio resident) It seemed like everyone was outside running/walking or biking on the wide sidewalks. The downtown area was very cool too, with great pubs and places to eat. I will definitely be back to Ann Arbor and I'll most likely stay at the Candlewood Suites. Read more

We were in town for the Thunder Over Michigan in Ypsilanti (about 15 minutes away from our hotel) so the location was great, lots of shopping available across the street, good restaurants and I-94 was a stones throw away.
