Hotel Splendid Tour Eiffel - Paris

The location was nice but the ac didn't work in the room, but we did have a room with the Eiffel town. The hotel also didn't allow food in the room so it made it difficult to have a romantic night it. I would recomend calling the hotel first to see if the ac is working.

It's all about the location. Amazing location, clean but small room, good views and that's it. Poor breakfast and a little expensive actually. The only reason I'd go back, and recommend this hotel, is location. Right across the street there are a few cafes, metro station, pharmacy etc.... But for the price you get a good option, no doubt.

This hotel is very convenient to the metro (less then 5 minute walk) and a 10 minute walk from the Eiffel tower. The hotel staff were friendly and spoke good English. The pictures truly do not give you a feel for the size of the room which was VERY small (matchbox small). They charge 2 Euro for 30mins of internet (a bit petty if you ask me). The dark hallways were a bit scary which I later found that you have to turn on the light switch yourself. I really liked the location. It was close enough to the tour Eiffel. Have to walk a few blocks. The train station was easy to get to. The hotel room was ok but the shower was a (shower head on a handle). Not too comfortable. Have to put it down to lather up. The staff were really nice. Overall it was fine.

The location of this hotel is wonderful. One or two of the hotel staff were helpful (note, that means not many....). We only had breakfast here once, and one can find better, less expensive breakfast in the surrounding neighborhoods. Very nice hotel location, Ecole Militaire metro stop is right on the corner. Carrefour City supermarket is just around the block. The bed's were hard so if you expect a soft bed go somewhere else. No airconditioner in the room but windows open up, however, the street traffic if fairly loud during the evening to try and sleep. Things in favor of this hotel: location, location, location--you can see the Eiffel Tower from the hotel, the metro station across the street, lots of great restaurants (check out Rue Cler). Also, the front desk people were great, helpful, and kind. The room was small, but that's normal for Europe. It was clean. However... hotel looks shabby--scratched […] and dirty walls, chipping paint, dented tub, worn out carpet. I don't know when the photos of the hotel were taken, but the hotel does not look like the photos. Also, the no-eating-in-your-room policy is silly. I have never seen such a policy anywhere. If they will see you have eaten in your room, you'll be charged 150 euros. But, they offer you food and drinks in the minibar! A bit of a catch 22, no? Also, no iron in the room. If you want anything ironed, you need to call the front desk and they will sent up an iron for you in the breakfast room, but only after 10:30am. Another silly policy. All and all, not a tragic choice, but for the price, you can find a better one. Read more

We were in Paris for only one night and this hotel served the purpose. We wanted to be close to the E. tower and we were able to walk there. It is about a 15 minutes walk to the tower. The train station is about 2 blocks away. The room is typical European small room and also typical Paris, old hotel. But that did not bother us. The room was a bit small and furniture and carpet quite worn. But, it served it served its purpose. Most important to us was that the bathroom was clean and bed linens clean and comfortable. I would suggest they replace the missing picture over the bed or pull the nail from the wall and straighten the other picture. Only great thing was my view of the Eiffel Tower. Bed was uncomfortable, you couldn't eat in your room, no use of iron until 10 a.m., very noisy, terrible lighting, and blow dryer looked just like a vacuum from the car wash. Also, the breakfast was gross and over priced. I would not stay there again.

Incredibly helpful and polite staff. Great location for attractions and very close to the metro, which compensates somewhat for the fact that it is far from the nightlife areas. Found it strange that you have to turn in your key every time you leave, but this seems typical of similar hotels.

It is right next to Rick Steve's Rue Cler and a two minute walk to the Champ De Mars. The metro station is also extremely close. The area is clean and seems safe to walk around at night. Great location near the Eiffel tower, good restaurants and Rue Cler. I really enjoyed the hotel and our awesome balcony view of the tower! Subway station was super close and allowed us to get to all major spots quickly and bus stations all over as well so it was great overall.

The location is what saves the hotel. Right at Ecole Militaire metro - lots of cafes and a wonderful little street Le Cler where flowers, restaurants and market place are found. The hotel rooms are small but the bathrooms are nice. The public spaces should be upgraded: quite shabby considering the price. All in all: not bad!

My husband and I stayed here for one night 2/13/12. It was a typical European room. Small by United States standards. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. As were all the Parisians we met. Did not meet any rude people in Paris! We had a great view of the Eiffel tower from our 6th floor balcony. The balcony is very […] small but my husband and I could stand on it together. You also have to step up out the window to the balcony. Con was that they have a sign in the room that there is not eating in the room and if you do they will charge you an extra cleaning fee of $100 euros but they have a mini bar with snacks. We did not use any of those, as with all mini bars the prices were too high. They do have an elevator (lift) and they will store luggage if your room isn't ready or you have a late departure and want to sight see some more. I would stay here again! Read more
